Chapter 6: I'm out

======== Seven Months Later ========

"All right, your all done for today, you can get your meals as you leave, and any extras will be the same price as usual," A servant said in the kitchen.

"Finally,"

"The sects' really trying to work us to death,"

"It won't be long until there new servants,"

"I'm definitely getting some extra food tonight,"

"I'm gonna miss working at the kitchen."

"Right, the amount of food extra food we get is amazing,"

"Thinking about it, only the servants come to eat. Some outer disciples don't even come to lunch that much, as for inner disciples, they might as well not even exist,"

"I heard they have their own servants and chefs,"

"Ah, the benefits of having a good talent,"

"It's not only talent, apparently most of the inner disciples have bloodlines as well,"

Hearing all the chatter, Mave looked around at his fellow servants and took off his cooking apron, but the moment he heard someone mentioning bloodlines, he slowed down a bit and looked over at the servant who said it.

The kitchen suddenly went quiet as everyone looked at the disciples who said bloodlines.

"Tell us more, Bo,"

"Yea, common now,"

Seeing everyone so interested, Bo decided he might as well tell them, it's not like it's private information or anything.

Besides, their job was officially over now.

"Fine, one healing pill from all of you, and I'll talk," Bo said suddenly.

No one argued, and everyone quickly gave him a pill. Even Mave gave one as he was curious about how those with bloodlines were treated in sects.

As for why everyone carried a healing pill, as a servant, it wasn't rare for you to be randomly beaten up by a disciple for whatever reason at any time.

Mave himself had experienced being randomly beaten before. It happened at least five times every month whenever he worked at places where disciples usually gathered.

Seeing all the curious eyes on him, Bo quickly told what he knew about bloodlines and inner disciples.

"Most of you should already know what a bloodline is and blooline grades, but bloodlines are more precious than any of you think, especially in the southern region,"

"Most 'Clans' don't have a bloodline, and if they did, they wouldn't tell anyone and try to keep a low profile,"

"What, why?"

Hearing that most clans didn't have a bloodline or hide one if they did, everyone looked more curiously at Bo.

Mave also looked at Bo, while he didn't plan to tell people he had a bloodline, he also didn't plan to hide it.

"Have you heard of a demonic sect?" Bo asked everyone around him.

Most people shook their heads.

"Well, demonic sects are a sect for those who follow the demonic cultivation manuals. Something about demonic manuals is that they don't have grades just some are more demonic than others,"

Hearing that demonic manuals didn't have a grade, some servants' eyes flashed in a mysterious light.

Bo saw this but didn't care.

After all, demonic sects were the target of all forces, and anyone planning to join one was usually caught somehow before they could even act.

"Anyway, anytime a person with a bloodline shows up, they become the target for demonic cultivators, as they have ways to steal a person's bloodline and somehow alter it to become more demonic and wicked,"

"Fuck,"

"Able to steal bloodline???"

"Ah, so bloodlines can be stolen?"

When the servants heard that there was a way to steal bloodlines, they were surprised.

'Dam, the system didn't say anything about bloodlines being stolen,' Mave thought.

"It gets even worse. You wanna know the reason why clans would hide that they have a bloodline?" Bo said, enticing the servants more.

Seeing everyone look at him more cursorily, Bo showed a vicious expression.

"Clan annihilation,"

Instead of getting the horrified and scared look, he was expecting.

All he got were eyes filled with confusion.

"Sigh...Well, as you many of you know, the Southern region has the least amount of spiritual energy density, and because of that, not many spiritual items or crops are able to grow or appear here, and the competition between sects, demonic sects, clans, and the kingdom of the southern region for land and resources is extremely tough,"

Some servants began to understand what clan annihilation meant.

"I mean, with all that competition for a limited amount of resources, do you think that any of these organizations are willing to let a new force appear? Especially the royal family? With the lack of control they have over their region, would they allow a new force to be born?"

"It not like they target every new force, it's just the forces that get a little too powerful, like for example the southern region is controlled by three forces, The royal family, the four clans, and the three sects,"

Hearing this, everyone showed a surprised expression.

They usually didn't hear about the outside world and usually focused on cultivating and trying to stay alive.

'So the southern region is controlled by these forces, I should alter my plans a little when I get back,' Thought Mave as he learned this new information.

"Anyway it doesn't end there, thirty years ago there was a clan that suddenly rose up and was competing with one of the four clans for a spot in its ranks, sadly it ended up getting attacked by the royal family and the four clans for some reason,"

"Since then from what I've heard, clan annihilation and sect annihilation have become a common thing, every time a new force tries to form, the surrounding forces will gather and annihilate it, and enslave the more talented ones,"

Hearing this, all those curious servants were satisfied. They not only learned more about the world, but they also learned a little history.

Besides, to them, whether it was sect annihilation or clan annihilation, it didn't matter. With their talents, the thought of trying to set up a new force never crossed their minds.

As soon as Bo finished telling them what he knew, Mave had already left.

While he did suspect something like being suppressed by others when trying to start his clan, the thought of clan annihilation never crossed his mind.

'Are the resources in the southern region that poor?' Mave thought as he entered his room.

After all, the only reason any new force would be destroyed before they gained even a bit of power would be because of the issue of resources.

Mave slowly moved his bed, and the entrance to his secret spot appeared.

Going into the spot looked different from last time. The countless resources that were everywhere were gone.

All that was left were countless healing pills and some mind-mending pills.

Looking at the resources that he had, Mave showed a painful face.

"Cultivating 165% better than those with no physique is a cheat. In just seven months, I've managed to reach LvL 7," Mave said to himself as he looked at the remaining resources left.

He had no spiritual gathering pills left , just a month after getting his physique, the speed of his energy refinement had increased tremendously.

It didn't even take him long to reach LVL 5.

The feeling of constantly improving returned, and his love for cultivation became greater.

But it didn't take long for his speed to slow down slightly, all because he started running out of all the resources he saved.

It didn't take long for him to run out of pills, and soon his cultivation slowed down.

While it was still way faster than it was at his original level, it was still slower from when he had some resources.

"Since the sect cant help me grow any longer, might as well leave. As for these healing pills, I can try to sell some for some resources before I leave,"

After sorting a couple of things, Mave put 2/3rds of healing pills inside of his bag and left his hideout.

======= 2 Months later======

At the green cloud sect entrance, a tall figure with long red hair in a gray robe was slowly leaving the sect.

As the figure got closer to the gate, he was stopped by the guards.

"Name and reason for leaving," the guard said with a clipboard in his hand.

"Marcus Newman, I'm doing a sect mission in one of the spawner villages," The man said.

The guard narrowed his eyes. He felt something was wrong but couldn't put his finger on it.

Taking his clipboard, he looked at all the expected people that had permission to leave this month.

Going through the list of names, he eventually found the name, Marcus Newman.

'Looks like he really does have permission to leave, but they're something wrong here,' the guard thought to himself.

Just as the guard was about to let the guy go, the guards' leader appeared.

"What's going on? Is there a problem here?" The guard leader said, looking at Mave.

"I don't know, I'm trying to go a sect mission, and he's still trying to verify my identity," The red-haired guy said with an annoyed expression.

"Stay still for a moment," The guard leader said as he reached for the red hair shoulder.

After a few seconds of touching him, the guard leader took back his hand.

"Hmm, Lvl 8 at only 24. Not bad, you're free to go," The guard leader said after confirming Maves's age and LVL.

Being at LVL 8 at 24 showed that his talent was a little better than ordinary red, meaning that he probably was a disciple on a sect mission.

"Finally took you long enough," the red-haired man said as he left.

Watching him get further away, the guard still had a terrible feeling.

Soon another figure came to the entrance to leave.

This time it was a slightly chubby man with average features and black hair.

"Name and reason for leaving," THe guard said.

"Marcus Newman, I have a sect mission to do," Marcus said while taking out his sect identification stone.

As soon as the guard saw this, his eyes went wide, he finally knew what was missing when he saw that red-haired man.

Usually, disciples would show their identification stone which would give them a free pass.

The guard hurriedly took out a talisman and ripped it apart. It was a signal that someone was escaping the sect.

As soon as the signal went off, the guard leader hurriedly came and asked what the situation was.

The guard quickly explained what he knew.

"That man from before was a fraud. His identity is unknown, he must have stolen a couple of things," The guard leader analyzed.

The possibility that the red-haired men were a servant never crossed his mind. After all, what kind of servant would reach LVL 8 at the age of 24?
