The Other Woman

"Your Grace?"

Ember's frail voice pierced through the deep silence of the Duke's bedroom.

Slowly, Duke Dallas lifted his gaze, settling it on Ember's figure, who laid back on the king-sized bed.

She had lifted off the bed slightly and had a huge frown on her face as she gazed around.

Duke Dallas pushed off the single-seater couch and found his way towards her.

"Are you alright, love? You slept for quite long."

He touched her soft, black hair, caressing it carefully as she pinched her brow harder.

She regarded the Duke as though he grew a second head.

"W-where am I?"

"In my abode, love. You blacked out."

Certainly, he couldn't start telling her the tale of her identity theft by a woman he had once loved. Or, the fact that she had been possessed by a witch and he was still unsure of her return.

He anticipated her return more than anything else. However, he was unsure of what awaited him following her return.
