Call me by my name

The lights in the elevator were restored after a while as the elevator doors opened.

Wayne had regained half of his senses as he stood up while straightening his suit.

He wiped the sweat off his forehead before walking out of the elevator.

Fear was written on the repairman's face as Wayne stepped out of the elevator.

The repair man greeted Wayne, "Goo-d day CEO Wayne," he couldn't help but stutter under Wayne's gloomy gaze.

He was called earlier to fix an elevator at the company but he didn't take it seriously, not until he realised that it was the CEO's private elevator.

He was a hundred percent sure that he was going to lose his job.

He knew how hard he worked to become the head of repairs at the Frenado corporation. Who would have thought that a simple act of negligence would cost him so much?

Wayne didn't say a word as he walked away with uneven steps.

Kaylar looked at the repair man with the same expression Wayne gave him.

She couldn't forget how scared she was a while ago.

Her heart remained erratic.

This was out of the ordinary.

Being Wayne's secretary for a few years now, Kaylar had witnessed a fair share of Wayne's outbursts.

But the outburst she witnessed today topped the rest.

She sorted out her emotions before heading to the pantry to get Wayne's medicine.

Wayne was going to have a migraine as usual.

She did not need a soothsayer to tell her that.

….

Wayne entered his office with much difficulty as he toppled on the couch.

His eyes were shut tightly as he massaged his temple.

His hair was dishevelled and his shirt was crumpled.

He didn't seem bothered about his appearance as he rested his back on the couch.

"Ceo Wayne, I brought your pills for you. Can I come in?"

Wayne heard Kaylar's calm voice from the door.

"Come in" He responded in a low voice.

Kaylar walked into his office and handed him a pill and a glass of water which he took immediately.

As he swallowed the pill he couldn't help but recall what happened in the elevator a while ago.

With that in mind, he stood up and strode into his private room without saying a word of dismissal.

Kaylar waited till he entered the room before leaving.

Currently, she felt pity towards Wayne.

….

Inside the private room, Wayne lay on the bed face up as he stared at the ceiling.

'Helpless'

This was the worst feeling Wayne could feel.

He felt helpless.

Who would have thought that his past would come haunting?

He remembered the number of times he went to therapy.

He was scared of this feeling, and he was more scared to ask for help.

He couldn't go back to those dark days.

He had a company to run which was paired with his secretary.

He was at a loss.

As a child, he was unable to comprehend the complexity of adult emotions and began to believe that he was responsible for his father's death.

Hatred flashed through his eyes as he thought of his mother.

Aside from hatred, his eyes were also filled with apathy, he had stopped regarding that woman as his mother.

Because he would never forget the harsh and derogatory words that left her mouth that day.

The medicine started taking effect as he gradually fell asleep.

It was evening when Wayne woke up.

He quickly freshened up before leaving the private room.

He looked better than he did a few hours ago.

Inside his office, he took a seat at his desk and then pressed the intercom button.

"Kaylar come to my office now"

He did not wait for her response.

After a minute Kaylar appeared in his office with her bag hanging on her shoulder.

She looked as if she was preparing to go home.

"CEO Wayne, you called me?"

"Yes, you will be leaving with me today," Wayne said indifferently.

"..." Kaylar was quite confused at his words.

"I didn't get you sir" Kaylar wanted to clarify what she heard.

"It's only right if you move into my house to avoid the elders from finding any flaw in our marriage," Wayne said with an arched brow.

Kaylar mouthed and ohhh.

She understood what he meant.

"I have to get my clothes and everything I need from my house" Kaylar voiced out.

"That's been settled by Chad."

She tried to find another excuse so that she wouldn't follow him.

"What about my car?" She asked

"I'll get Chad to bring it over to my place"

As faith had it, she was bound to go with him.

"Okay, then I will have to go with you then," Kaylar said with a forced smile.

"One more thing," Wayne said as he stood up, "You should change the way you address me after closing hours."

"Okay," Kaylar replied.

"Now call me by my name," Wayne said as he walked to the door.

"Wa-nye" it sounded weird as Kaylar called his name.

It will be easy to deal with her.

Wayne scoffed as he exited the office.

In the parking lot.

Wayne made his way to his car which was packed at the VIP parking space.

His chauffeur opened the door of the car and greeted him respectfully, "Eldest master"

"Uncle Zhu, how have you been?"

Uncle Chen had been his driver since he was ten.

He was quite familiar with Uncle Zhu which made his attitude towards home respectful.

"Uncle Zhu, this is my wife Kaylar," Wayne introduced Kaylar.

Uncle Zhu did a double take and looked at the figure that stood behind Wayne.

Wayne's broad shoulders covered her from his sight.

Uncle Zhu's mouth was left hanging as he stared at Kaylar.

Wasn't she the eldest master secretary?

He asked himself.

"Good evening Uncle Zhu" Kaylar greeted him with a smile.

"Eldest madam" Uncle Zhu gave her a deep bow.
