CHAPTER 19

"From here, Doctor Ronald."

A nurse stated that, showing him the way, Erika lost lots of blood and her skin turned pale.

"That facking Kan, I will make him pay dearly." Rafael said as he was walking in a circle; his phone was ringing; he swung it after seeing his brother's name on the screen.

"She must survive; my plan is dependent on her; it's not over yet." He added, to be surprised by the presence of Mr. John Milne, who slapped him and yelled, saying:

"Can't you just take care of her? you are her husband over what? "

Mr. John Milne gazed at Rafael, who was upset; this was his first time being slapped because of a lady.

"Don't forget who you are, Mr. John Milne." Rafael stated this as he was trying to calm himself down. He couldn't understand his unjustified sympathy for Erika.

Mr. John approached him, then said in an evil smile, "I don't care who you are, Mr. Rafael; Erika is more important to me than anything in this life. Put my words like a ring in your ear if something bad happens to her, and I promise you that your grave will be here."

Mr. Rafael's cold expression rose. He put his hands on his pocket, leaned to the wall, and then said, "I paid for her price, the LK company; if you don't remember, and now she's my wife, why are you acting like her father? You're just her boss."

Mr. John grabbed his fists and turned to the other side. This fact was aching his heart, and he made himself leave after he knew about the success of Erika's her surgery.

Ronald sat in his office with a high knock on his door. He let him in, and Mr. Rafael said:

"Why can't I be able to see? It's been three nights, doctor.

Ronald acted dumpy and smiled after five minutes of silence. He actually didn't let him meet with Erika, and he said, "You will be able to see her tomorrow morning; she needs to take a rest."

Mr. Rafael gazed at Ronald's face; he knew that he was teasing him. He moved out, and Ronald watched him from the glassy window.

"So this is the jerk that you love Erika, Pft. It will be easy for me to make you mine," Ronald said while checking his phone.

"Enjoy your limited time with her for now," Ronald said, then called somebody.

"Rafael"

Erika whispered his name, then she opened her eyes, looking at him. He smiled tenderly, and he hugged her. She sighed in pain, so he apologized and held her palm instead.

"How do you feel?" He asked, and with that broken voice, she smiled and said, "I'm fine, Mr. Rafael; don't worry, it's not my first time to be shot."

Mr. Rafael in large eyes, after hearing her statement, whispered, "I'm just kidding."

He put his head on her lap, held her tight, and rubbed his head. They stayed in that position until Ronald knocked on the door.

"It's time for a routine check," Ronald hissed; Rafael didn't move a finger; he raised his head and said to him:

"Come on another time."

Hope's gaze on Erka tells him to leave them alone. Ronald approached them, ignored them, and started doing his job.

He sat on the left side near her bed, while Rafael was on the right side. The firing stare between the two hot men could burn Erika alive.

The silence had been cut by Mr. Rafael, who was asking for his presence.

"I'll be back."

Mr. Rafael said to Erika, who grabbed her hand, that she wanted him to stay and leave the work for just this day, at least for her sake.

"He will break your heart; let go of him."

Ronald said with that sad glow in his eyes, and Erika turned to face him with her sharp look.

"Saving me doesn't give me the right to judge my relationship with him." Erika whispered as she held her injured arm; he smiled, then said:

"Alright, Madam, relax; it's not like I'm going to steal your heart," Ronald stated.

She softly said,Did I steal l yours She noticed him turning red.

"Yes, you did," Ronald said as he stood up and met with Mr. Rafael at the door.

"You can take her home by the end of this day if you want or..."

Ronald said, and Rafael nodded his head to his statement.

"You're going to be in my place until you recover. I don't want to argue with you," Rafael said as he leaned closer to her, as if he were about to kiss her. She lowered her head and whispered:

"I'll go just if I get well."

Rafael's pleasant smile rose; he felt as if he had won one battle of one hundred wars to win her heart.

Rafael took her home after the splint was placed on her implants and helped her get out of the car. She thought he was too gentle with her, but she still remembers her promise to raise the company in a month.

"Take your rest; I will tell them to prepare the lunch for us," Rafael stated as he kissed her forehead. She touched the trace of his kiss. She remembered this room; she had been here before.

"So this is one of his uncountable apartments," Erika said while her eyes checked around the room. It was beautiful and tidal.

"Yes, Mr. Grand, I'm good right now." She answered her phone, and Mr. Grand was sorry for not being able to save her at that time, even though it was his responsibility to provide safety investments for his employees.

She hung up the call and laid on the soft, fluffy pillow. She thought of Rosalina's feelings as the video that Kan met spread widely.

"It's really a mess," Erika whispered with her palm over her eyes, trying to wipe her tears. She had to be strong; she did not want to be safe every time, like the old version of the weak female lead that she read in the books.
