The moment they got into the car, Liam wasted no time in starting the car, and as the engine roared to life, he sped off, the tension between them clearly evident.
"Liam, what's happening?" Fiona finally asked, her voice trembling slightly. They were in the car now so she was feeling a bit secure.
"Marcus crossed a line," Liam said, his eyes fixed on the road. "He tried to kidnap Mr. Stuart. But Derek's men stopped him," he said and then glanced at Fiona, his gaze softening and full of gratitude.
"Thank you, Fi. I'm not sure I would've thought so far ahead. I mean, I never would've thought Marcus would go to such an extent. Bribing my shareholders is one thing but trying to kidnap someone just to stop them from investing...." Liam let his words trail off, exhaling deeply.
Fiona, feeling sorry and very bad at the situation stretched her hand as she reached for Liam's, squeezing it tightly. She could understand how he must be feeling.
