Elena's sick

Darren was now getting suspicious about Elena but he didn't show it instead he kept eyes on her but there was nothing suspicious around her.

He was sitting close to the floor to ceiling window with many things going through his head. After that chat a month ago, he hadn't found any clue, one of the reasons was all traces of her identity was destroyed and lost.

He kept wondering what was amiss. Darren's failed to notice Elena who was standing at his door. Since the time she was being tutored Darren had been different towards her and she wasn't blind to not notice it.

He would come to her room few times and sometimes he'd leave for a week or few days. Spending most of his time with work, she wasn't able to do anything and just focused on her studies.

Maybe he's tired of caring for her. She thought and shut the door quietly. Elena walked back to her room and sat on the bed, she pulled her kitten bag from under the bed and opened it. After awhile, she zipped it up and kept it back.

Mrs Ann noticed the change in Elena today and didn't take it to heart but the girl was getting slower than usual, she would rest her head on the desk from time to time.

She walked to Elena and touched her forehead head and was surprised at her burning temperature.

"Elena you're sick! Why didn't you tell me?" Mrs Ann was surprised and scared at the same time. Watching the girl turn weak every minute made her more scared.

She informed the butler and helped Elena to her room.

Darren was busy in his office when Vivian came in with a big smile on her face. This morning Darren had called her to come to Maple Inc, she was surprised and happy at the same time. She dolled up and left the house in high spirits.

Darren raised his head from his laptop and smiled at her. "Happy birthday Vivian," he wished her.

Vivian blush heavily and was surprised Darren called to wish her happy birthday. She sat opposite him and smiled excitedly, "is that all you have to say? I know you'll give me a better present," Vivian remarked.

Darren grinned and waved his hand for the assistant to leave them. Kiara begrudgingly left the office and was even astonished that her boss wished her happy birthday.

Vivian scowled at the assistant when she turned to look behind her. Kiara felt like pulling out those big eyes of the slut and left the office.

Darren pushed a flat medium box to her and waited to see her reaction. Vivian opened the box and was awestruck by what she saw.

Lying on the red cloth inside the box was a diamond necklace, earings and bracelets. The diamond on them sparkled as she lifted it up, the three piece was having the same woven pattern in them.

She recognized the necklace, the latest bidding that was auctioned last week featured this necklace and it was of the highest of them all, about six scores.

Darren had not only bought the necklace but also the earings and bracelets. The diamond was ethereal and beamed each time she ran her fingers through it across the light.

"Thank... Thank you. It's beautiful, I love it," Vivian stuttered. What could she say again, she was speechless as wave of emotions course through her veins. Just then Darren's phone ringed.

The butler called Darren and told him about Elena illness and the reply he got was, "call doctor Fredrick." Butler Jan was amazed by his master nonchalance and called the doctor as ordered.

Vivian smirked inwardly as Darren answered the call, it was no other than that damned brat girl who was sick.

"I'm quite busy now, I'd visit the mansion in the evening," Darren said and Vivian nod and smiled delightfully.

She left the office with a sweet smile on her face and didn't forget to hold the box on her hand to show off on the assistant. Of course Kiara knows what she was doing, she knew it was the diamond Darren bought in the auction.

Doctor Fredrick examined the frail girl and told the butler on her to give her the medicine if she wakes up. She got fever and would clear in few days from now.

Fredrick left the mansion with a sad expression, with the way the butler hesitated when he asked to call Darren and giving lame excuse, he could tell Darren didn't care about the girl.

Mrs Ann stayed for a long time to watch over Elena while Dora would fetch other necessary things the woman asked for. If it was before, Darren would've left his office the moment he heard Elena was sick and Dora noticed it.

Elena was the type of person who wants care from people around her due to the harsh environment she had lived in.

Mrs Ann was now having suspicion about this Elena. Since she started tutoring Elena she had never seen any relatives of hers, the girl never lived the mansion no matter how long you persuade her as if she was afraid of the outside world.

Elena opened her eyes lazily and was surprised to see Dora standing close to her bed. She also felt someone sitting close to the bed and sat up hurriedly but a look of disappointment flashed in her eyes. She smiled at Mrs Ann who helped her put the pillows behind her back so she could rest her body.

"Don't stress yourself and take your drugs. Don't forget to say how you feel if any changes in your body occur okay?" Mrs Ann acted like a mother who would caution her child.

Elena nodded her head before the woman left.

She thought it was Darren who sat beside her, a sharp pain pierced her heart as she stare blankly at the seat Mrs Ann sat few minutes ago.
