Chapter 034

By the time they appointed a new contractor for the job, many other business moguls already began exploiting on their ideas.

By the time they had finished building Cloud Peach Groove, they already failed to gain the initiative in the market. Not only that, Cloud Peach Groove became extremely expensive due to the amount of money spent.

For years, the building had laid desolate without any buyers. Mr. Connor naturally found Oscar's choice surprising.

Perhaps because of the relationship he shared with Mr. Weymer, he went out of his way to explain the history of the building.

But even after his narration, Oscar's resolve didn't waver.

"Young man. There are a lot of better looking office buildings. After years of desolateness, I'm sure the architectural designs of that building must've washed off. Why do you remain stubborn huh?"

"You said it yourself. If nobody buys that building, won't those two partners be loosing out so much?" Oscar refuted.

"If you say so" Mr. Connor helplessly gave in.

It wasn't like he was the one paying for the cost anyways.

Also he didn't suspect that Oscar wouldn't be able to pay up. After all, he was a friend of Mr. Weymer.

"Cloud Peach Groove costs $1.8 billion. Our estate brokerage firm takes a transaction fee of $18 million. But since you are a friend of Mr. Weymer, I'll just round it up to $15 million" Mr. Connor brought out some documents.

"Don't worry. I'll pay the usual agent fee" Oscar insisted.

How could he let $2 million slip by? that was 2k centi points y'know.

 "Oh" Mr. Connor smiled knowingly.

 Youths were hotheaded. As expected.

"Would you be paying through installment or.."

"Full payment. Give me the account details" Oscar didn't even bat an eyelids.

"Huh?" Mr. Connor could no longer remain calm.

Most transactions which exceeded $10 million were usually paid in installment.

Yet this Youth wanted to make a full payment for a $1.8 billion worth transaction.

Just how deep was his pocket really?

Seeing that Oscar wasn't joking around, Mr. Connor proceeded with the transaction.

-[You have recieved + 1,950,000 centi points]

[Author Note: That is, one million, nine hundred and fifty thousand]

After making the payment, Oscar swaggered out, intending to visit his new office building.

Benclover Institute was founded by a once famous but now retired boxer, Lewis Steele.

According to him, there were a lot of diamonds and golds hidden underneath the mud, waiting to be unearthed.

Benclover Training institute had just one sole aim, to unearth these diamonds and gold.

Inside the Administrative Office, Ben sat facing a hefty man with sharp brows and oppressive physique.

The suit he wore did nothing to conceal the bulging muscles hidden underneath.

This man was Jason Steele. The son of Lewis Steele.

He was naturally the Manager of Benclover Institute.

"Are you sure of what you are saying Ben?"

"I won't joke about such an issue sir. After that game yesterday, Perry's performance experienced a nose dive drop. Now his performance are inferior to those amateurs" Ben said solemnly.

"Call him over" Mr. Jason replied.

Ben contacted one of his colleagues to bring Perry over. A few minutes later, Perry respectfully walked into the office.

Just as he wanted to greet the two seniors, he suddenly felt a whoosh, and like a flash, Mr. Jonas was already beside him.

 Badum!

 Perry gulped. So fast?!

"Relax yourself. Let me check something" Mr. Jonas palm became coated in a yellow halo.

If any Deviant saw this scene, they would be able to easily identify what that halo meant.

It was a type of energy only exclusive to Deviants. It was martial energy!

Placing the palm coated with martial energy on Perry's shoulder, Mr. Jonas shut his eyes.

As if suddenly sensing an anomaly, his expression warped up into a frown.

Moments later, he removed his palm from Perry's shoulder.

"You can go" he said expressionlessly.

 "Yes Sir"

After Perry left, Mr. Jonas sat down, staring intently at Ben.

"I just found out that there has been some changes in his body. I don't acually know it, but I can more or less sense it" he explained.

"Did you notice anything suspicious during yesterday's game?"

 "Uhm.." Ben fell into contemplation.

Did anything strange happen..? Oh yes!

"Uhm.. Now that you said it, I think all the changes began to happen after that darkhorse made his appearance"

"Previously, Perry's performance was normal, completely dominating those from KYC. But after that Darkhorse showed up, Perry's performance dropped. Do you think they are related?"

"Maybe it was a suppression skill?" Mr. Jonas thought, but quickly discarded that idea.

There's no way a martial skill could last that long. But if it wasn't a martial skill, what was it?

And KYC, when did they have such a mysterious junior?

"Keep a close eye on KYC side. Especially that mysterious darkhorse"

"But Sir. What about the SBC? with Perry's mysterious condition, we don't stand a chanceat winning" Ben voiced his worries.

"What are you fretting over for? don't we still have Chris as our ace in the hole?" Mr. Jason replied.

"Oh? he's come out from seclusion?" Ben gaped.

In Benclover Institute, many of the students dream was to be like the Institute Head, a Deviant!

However, the prerequisite to becoming one was just too harsh.

However, three years ago, a student managed to meet the requirements, successfully becoming a Deviant.

The Institute Head then took him as his personal student.

"Sir, isn't it just a minor basketball game? why do you have to reveal Chris? what if 'those people' suspect us of cheating?"

"Tsk. Tsk. The SBC isn't as ordinary as you think. And as for us drawing suspicions on ourselves, it's not like others won't follow suite.. KYC just had to start it first"

"You mean.." Ben's eyes widened as if he'd suddenly realized something.

 "You are dismissed!"

"Brother, we just recieved a threat letter from one of our debtors. If we don't pay up within the next week, we are going to get beaten by some thugs" a thin looking man in shabby clothing walked into the sitting room of an equally shabby apartment.

"Sigh, isn't that the sixth threat letter we've gotten this week? to think I would eventually end up in such a state one day. Ah, fate really knows how to play a joke" another man seated on a dirty sofa with various parts torn took a long drag from the cigar in between his fingers.

His eyes were completely listless and his demeanor miserable to the core.

"Brother, you shouldn't blame yourself. If that bastard hadn't ran away with our money back then, we wouldn't have ended up in such a state"

These two men were the Jamie Brothers: Trumps Jamie and Trunks Jamie.

They were the sons of a late business mogul, with a personal networth of $800 million who died in an airplane crash years ago while they were just twelve and fifteen years old respectively.

Their mother deserted them with most of their father's money, leaving them with just ten million.

From that ten million, they hustled for fifteen years, establishing themselves as a business duo worth over $3 billion.

While they were at the peak of their career, the news of a new city development began circulating in the state.

Seeing this as a potential point of investment, they were one of the early pioneer investors, choosing to invest in business infrastructure.

If everything had worked out well, the returns they would make would be massive, even affecting their accumulated self worth on a large scale.

However, not only did the Contractor scam them of their money, they even fell into debts, losing everything they've built so far.

They were once living at the top, now they were at the most bottomest part of the rung.

It was no wonder why Trunks felt extremely depressed.

"Brother, you shouldn't give up. Who knows, someone might just purchase a floor in Cloud Peach groove"

Although Trumps said this, his expression showed he didn't have much confidence.

Just as Trunks made to reply, he suddenly froze.

That was because the half damaged phone besides him suddenly buzzed.

 Ping!

"Is it a credit alert?" Trumps asked with hopeful eyes.

"Maybe it's just an annoying SMS" although Trunks said this, he still picked up the phone.

However when he saw the credit alert on the home screen, his jaw dropped.

 Was he seeing things?!

 Credit alert of $1.8 billion!!
