Chapter 033

"Heh" Jace sneered when he saw Oscar back down.

Tsk. Tsk. Weren't you acting high and mighty just now? beat me if you dare!

"Young man, what you did just now wasn't morally right. Please kindly leave the building" the mysterious middle aged man focused his gaze on Jace.

"Hmph. I'm not leaving. Who do you think you are? ordering me around? do you know who my father is!"

"I do. Isn't he Mr. Murock Laufey?"

When the surrounding customers heard these statement, it felt like a bomb had exploded in the head.

Mr. Murock Loufey! who didn't know him in the whole of Silver Haven?!

He was a renowned former government official. However, what made him infamous was his corrupt ways.

He was publicly lauded as the city'r number one underground king. The various criminal gang leaders all shivered at the mere mention of his name.

There had been a time when three gangs alligned together to deal with him.

 And what was the result?

 Total Annihilation!

During that period, Silver Haven was plunged into chaos.

Anywhere one went, they would encounter corpses. The situation was so dire that the City Mayor had to enlist the help of the state Governor to bring stabilization.

But who was Mr. Murock? a reputable former government official. So although the Governor interfered, the corrupt politician managed to leave scot-free.

Since that incident, the Howling Fiends cult, which was founded by Mr. Murock himself cemented their position as the city's most dangerous criminal organization.

Some rumours even claimed that many bigshots usually enlisted the help of the Howling Fiend cult to do some dirty jobs for them.

What was the son of such a terrifying man doing in West View, one of the city's minor boroughs?

They couldn't help but give Oscar and the mysterious middle aged man looks of pity. Afterall, they knew more or less about Jace's temperament just from the brief interaction.

Such a petty kind of person wouldn't forget grudges.

Some of the more cowardly ones even directly left the building, for fear of being misunderstood as being Oscar's accomplice.

"You know who my father is, yet why are you not scared?" Jace gave the mysterious man a look of puzzlement.

Usually, when he reveals his true identity, the other party would immediately beg for mercy and start bootlicking him.

He was already used to the same situation happening over and over again. As such, he found the scenario to be weird.

"Why should I? this company belongs to me. I can chase anybody out if I like. Plus, no matter how wild Murock is, there are quite a few people he dosen't dare mess with" the mysterious middle aged man said calmly.

"And you think you fit that criteria?" Jace sneered with contempt.

What's this old geezer saying? My dad's friggin' amazing in this city. Even the Mayor has to treat him with respect!

"You'd know soon enough" the other party waved his hands.

Six men in security uniform rushed out from the inner part of the building, grabbing Jace and his unconscious bodyguards.

Oscar frowned, He could sense a vibrant aura from the newcomers. Compared to Jace's bodyguards, theirs was much stronger.

However, the shocking part was one at the lead. Oscar could sense the invisible pressure of a level one Decimus ranker.

"This place isn't simple" he mumbled with intrigue.

After meeting up with Goldie's dad, he had more or less understood the structure of the world.

Deviants were very rare. Usually, only powerful forces could cultivate them.

No matter how Jace flailed and struggled, he couldn't resist the fate of being thrown out.

"Just you wait!" Jace glared hatefully at the Estate agency building.

In all his life, it had always been him oppressing others. How could he tolerate this kind of embarrassment?!

Hmph! Once I return, I'll definitely tell dad! let's see how you'll survive then!

You think this young master is so easy to bully? just you wait!

Without giving his unconscious bodyguards a look, he hopped into a red lavish ferrari, zooming off.

Those inside the building sighed in relief after they heard the sound of Jace's ferrari engine sound distant.

Like as if they planned it, they scrambled out of the building.

This Company has offended that demon's son! finished! this company was finished.

"Oh?" Oscar mouthed in shock when he noticed none of the staff made any intention on fleeing.

"Why aren't they running? don't they know about Mr. Murock's fearsome reputation?" Oscar asked the mysterious man with a puzzled expression.

"They are my most trusted subordinates. How can they just betray me just like that" the mysterious man let out an amused chuckle.

"Actually, I should be the one asking you that. Are you not afraid of being implicated?"

"Implicated? sure, I became one after I beat up that cocky's bastard's guards. Plus, I haven't yet fufiled my aim of coming here"

"Hah. What an amusing guy. As expected of Mr. Weymer's acquitance'

 "Oh? you know me?"

"I am Connors Cooks. I am the manager of this company. Just yesterday, I recieved a call from that peacock that one of his good friends would drop by"

 "Peacock?" Oscar arched his brows.

"That's just a nickname. Mr. Weymer is actually quite proud and hardly makes acquaintances. And if he does, they all tend to be amazing people" Mr. Connor explained.

"Really?" Oscar felt a bit doubtful.

He couldn't connect the humble Mr. Weymer he knew to the one Mr. Connors was describing.

Sensing that they had delayed far too long, Mr. Connor brought Oscar directly to his office, allowing him to look through the magazines containing high end properties.

After skimming through them a bit, Oscar finally settled for one.

"This.. did you perhaps make a mistake?" Mr. Connor had with a stiff expression.

This couldn't be helped since the building Oscar chose was the most expensive one in the catalogue.

Cloud Peach Groove. It was a sky rise office sky scrapper that was built by two business tycoons in a joint effort.

At that time, Silver Haven was still at it's early transitioning stage from a town into a city. Developments was ongoing and there was pretty no office buildings.

Both business moguls partnered together to build the Cloud Peach Grove. Not only would it be the first office building in Silver Haven, it would also be a hotcake for other business moguls who wanted to take up base there.

Both of them had pooled in a hell lot of funds so as to get the project running at the shortest time possible.

One day, both partners decided to inspect their project, only to arrive at the site and discover that progress was extremely snail-paced, despite the amount of resources they kept on pooling in.

Apparently, the Contractor had been scamming them of their money. Scared of their retaliation, the dishonest Contractor migrated to another country.
