Chapter 025

The stock market was beyond anything Oscar has seen.

There were so many outlets to invest in that Oscar felt they were without limit.

 Company stocks

 Brands stocks..

The prices of the stocks were not fixed, changing at random. One minute it would rise and the next, it would nose dive.

Even though Oscar had all the money in the world, he still felt frightened.

He could finally understand just what kind of risk many Investors took.

Although the Futures market had it's own risk, the stock market was extremely dangerous.

Scrolling through the market, he finally settled for an outlet.

 Speedo Sneakers Arcane lift 2.

Previously, it wasn't well known, but in the past twelve hours, the stock value experienced a drastic increase, making Arcane Lift 2 a valued franchise that many wanted to invest in.

Currently, there was a total number of five hundred thousand float shares on the market.

[P.S: float shares are the shares open to the market that can be bought]

"Oh" Oscar mouthed.

Currently, a the stock price of Speedo Sneakers was priced at ten dollars each. There were currently ten thousand of them available to the market previously, however only four thousand remained.

 And the number kept reducing.

"Keep a low profile. Keep a low profile" he cautioned himself as he made the trade.

He wanted to purchase a thousand of the remaining shares all at once.

 The Next Day..

Everybody was hyped up. No matter where one went, it would be impossible to not stumble upon two or more students gossiping amongst themselves.

Apparently, the news of Silas and Oscar's martial duel was a piece of hot news that has already spread to all parts of KYC.

Even the Teachers and Dean were aware, but surprisingly, they didn't move out to placate the uprising ruckus.

A lot happened behind the scenes after all. KYC was a gathering of the Elites. It wouldn't have gotten to it's current position without the support from their elite students backing.

Although Oscar wasn't anything special, Silas had a distinguished backer behind him with a record of a 'generous' contribution of $10 million!

Boldened by the school management silence, many students even began flying banners and posters, depicting A.I generated images of Oscar and Silas in an intense face off.

"Hm? why am I slightly more handsome in this picture huh?" Oscar tore off a poster, admiring his A.I generated self.

"You are unnaturally calm, are you sure you can fight?" Cargo who was besides him, asked worriedly.

He was quite familiar with Oscar. The latter only knew how to run his mouth. His fist held no substance at all.

"Do you have zero confidence in me winning?" Oscar feigned a hurtful expression.

"And I thought we were friends.."

Cargo gritted his teeth. Bastard! Learn to be serious for once!

"Oscar! this isn't a joking matter. Silas isn't like Bill or the others who just let you go after some kicks and punches!"

"Oh?" Oscar had a feeling Cargo knew something.

"I made a little background search. Silas is actually living with his uncle who is an ex covert ops agent" Cargo revealed.

Covert Operations. There were special forces erected by the government to assist the military in some special cases. However, Oscar remained unfazed.

He was a Deviant, and a powerful one at that. So what if Silas brings his Uncle along.

He refused to believe an old fart wielding guns could defeat him.

"Silas must have definitely received some training from him. Coupled with the enmity he has with you, it would be very nice even if he leaves you with a black eye" Cargo sympathized.

Oscar was already tired of saying "I got it all under control" so he didn't bother speaking up for himself.

Just then, the duo bumped into Jonas, who had just finished his classes.

"I was looking all over for you" he patted Oscar's shoulder.

"Seriously bro, can you really fight?"

 "Geez!" Oscar stomped with indignation.

"Can't you two have a little bit of confidence in me?!"

"I do!" Oscar heard a refreshing voice from behind him.

"Oh? it's you!" Jonas was taken aback when he saw Goldie personally approach them.

But he swiftly remembered that she was probably there for Oscar.

Hmm.. was something going on between both of them?

"At Least, someone knows me best!" Oscar grinned.

"I heard that there is a betting booth. There's a big odd against you winning" Goldie informed.

"Aren't they being too unscrupulous. What if the school management finds out and punishes those who took part?" Oscar frowned.

 However, Goldie just smiled.

Following her lead, Oscar and the rest arrived at the 'betting are'.

It was a class room that had been cleaned out.

When Oscar walked in, he was stumped when he saw the designs all around.

There was a massive face off poster of him and Silas, a betting booth and counter.

There was a crowd of students placing their bets. The liveliness stunned Oscar silly..

"Well, Well, if it isn't the main character of the show" Oscar heard a familiar voice from behind him.

Who else, if not Bill, alongside Silas and some of his goons.

"Bill, you sure know how to run your mouth. All these was orchestrated by Silas, I dare not take credits"

"Tch, don't bother trying to turn us against each other with those cheap words" Silas grinned, using his eyes to scan around for Layla.

"Ahh, yesterday was damn too good. Layla was just too wild, too bad she couldn't withstand me and ended up being unable to throw a step forward"

"Bastard!" Silas wanted to rush forward and beat the crap out of him.

 However, Silas held him back.

"He's just trying to provoke you. Don't fall for his cheap tricks"

"Tch!" although Silas knew Oscar's words were all bluff, it still felt maddening when he heard them.

Fearing Silas would let anger control his reasoning, Bill added.

"Are you guys not going to duke it out at the ring, you can deal with him there"

Silas managed to calm down after hearing that.

Indeed!

Repulsed by the sight of Drew, Silas led his entourage away.

"Have you both betted on my win?" Oscar asked the duo besides him.

"I did. Do you want to place a bet too?"

Oscar nodded, except he wouldn't be betting on his win.

Afraid he might attract attention, Oscar placed the bet anonymously, betting a million dollars on his loss.

 Ring! Ring! Ring!

The bell that many had been waiting patiently finally rang. Like a tide, many of the students swarmed towards the physical fitness field.

Luckily, it was wide to contain them all.

"Where are you Oscar? have you grown cold feet that you dare not come?!" Loud mockery came out from Silas who stood at the center of the field.

"Tch. I just hope you are still so enthusiastic after I whoop your ass" Oscar walked out from amongst the crowd, standing opposite Silas.

Many students began murmuring when they saw the face off.

"Who do you think is going to win?"

"Silas of course! just look at Oscar's frail arms!"
