Chapter 018

"Geez. Is this how your restaurant treat customers?" Oscar frowned with displeasure.

"Customer? go take a piss and check your reflection on it. Do you think you can afford a meal in such a place?" the Security Man continued his jeerings.

At that moment, an expensive looking sedan came to a halt at the premise.

A lady and a chubby man in suit stepped out, with arms linked with each other.

The lay unconsciously glanced around when her eyes met the scene of Oscar arguing with the Security man.

"Oscar?" she called out with a sarcastic grin, causing the former to glance at her direction.

 "Betty?" Oscar recognized the lady.

She was the leader of KYC cheerleading club. Although she wasn't friends with Laura, she was part of those who often ridiculed Oscar due to his poor background.

She often wore branded clothes, jewelries and accessories, claiming to be the spoilt daughter of a rich tycoon. At such, she had many male admirers, vying to date her.

"if it isn't the infamous Oscar the shameless braggart" Betty sneered.

"And for you information, I am on a dinner date with him" she pecked the chubby man on his fat cheeks.

"Oh. Betty, your dad looks handsome by the way" Oscar mocked with a smile, causing Betty to blush with embarrassment.

"You know this brat?" the chubby man asked, snaking his arms around Betty, as a show of marking his territory.

"Mr. Bruce jests. He's just a useless piece of trash who is KYC's janitor.

 "Oh" Mr. Bruce worry lessened.

"What's going on?" he asked the security man who smiled courteously at him.

"This young man came in on a scooter. I told him that we no longer accept deliveries. Who knew he would be so shameless? insisting that he must get in and even claiming that he was a customer"

 Betty sneered.

"Hmph. Although I won't deny that you seem to have changed these past days, that doesn't change the fact that you are just a useless bloke. If you know what's good for you, scram!" Betty held up her waist as she hollered.

 Oscar laughed wryly.

"I would love to leave, but I have to see someone important who happens to be inside. Can you give me a sec to make a call?" Oscar asked

Without waiting for their consent, Oscar brought out his phone.

When Betty saw the iphone with a damaged screen, she giggled with contempt.

Dialing the number of his future broker agent, the other party replied on the second ring.

"Is this Mr. Oscar?" a feminine voice rang from the other end.

Somehow, Oscar felt the voice sounded familiar.

Explaining the situation going on, the other party instructed him to give the phone over to the security man.

At first, the security man spoke with aggression. But slowly, it began to morph into trepidation

And even fear!

"Y-You can go in" the Security man was like a frightned mouse.

When Betty heard this, she tried protesting. Who would've anticipated the Security Man to snap angrily at her.

"Who gives you the right to decide wether he can enter or not? are you the boss of this place huh?"

Oscar smiled knowingly. He attributed the Security Man's sudden change was because of conversation he had with his broker agent.

Under the eyes ashen faced Betty, he swaggered into the restaurant.

He had just gotten inside when a burly man in suit and dark shades tapped his shoulder.

 "Are you Mr. Oscar?"

"Yes I am. Who are you please?"

"My Boss wants to see you. She claims you both have an appointment today"

Hearing these words, Oscar relaxed. The burly man led him through a flight of stairs, arriving at the second floor.

Unlike the first floor, the second floor was reserved for VIP members and the dishes they served were extremely expensive.

"My boss is inside" the burly man said after they arrived before a door.

Oscar nodded, opening the door and swaggering in. The second floor had individual dining rooms, with expensive decors that could leave on marveling with awe.

However, when Oscar saw the person he was meeting with, he gasped.

 "It's you?!"

Goldie smiled as she sipped from a glass of wine on the dining table.

 "Have we met before?"

"Tch. Drop that professional act. What are you doing here?" Oscar's lips twitched.

"I am a Broker Agent. I was sent her to meet up with my client named Mr. Oscar, which happens to be you"

 Oscar sat down and said.

"You are really something alright. I hope you can keep my secret. I don't want to attract unnecessary attention to myself"

"I am not a blabber mouth. Did you bring your lap top?"

Oscar unzipped his back pack, placing the lap top on the table.

After setting it up, he entered the investment brokerage house app, before looking at Goldie for further instruction.

"Before we proceed, I would like to inform you that Spring Gold Investments collects a 3% share on every transaction, irrespective of wether you experience a loss or profit" Goldie warned.

"Fine by me. So, can we start now?" Oscar asked with impatience.

"Of course. What market would you like to try out?"

 "Futures Market"

Following Goldie's instructions, Oscar began assesing the futures market.

The futures market was actually very simple. It worked in the way of buying cheap on day A and re selling on day B. However, operating the futures market was extremely risky since all what the Investors could do was to make blind hypothesis and take gambles.

If luck was on their side, the value of the product they purchased would experience a spike increase in value, maximizing their profits.

Other times, the product would decrease in value, causing them to experience a major loss.

"I'll go with this one" Oscar finally made his choice.

The product he was buying was a brand of toys named Spacing Jets. According to the item description, it was the latest product of Lolica, a famous toy brand.

A single piece cost about five dollars; a really expensive price.

"Are you sure about this? our Analysts have predicted that Spacing Jets toys won't sell well. Not only are they expensive, they also don't have any special features that appeals to the younger audiences. I think robo cop toys would be the better choice" Goldie tried warning Oscar, who remained unflinched.

It wasn't as if he was seeking to make profits anyways.

"Nothing is absolute and the market always moves on an interchangeable grid. Plus, great gains often comes with risk. This is my gamble, hehe"

"It's your money anyways" Goldie huffed at Oscar's stubbornness.

Since the Investment profile account was linked to the Centi Card, it was fully loaded.

Following Goldie's guide, Oscar purchased a ten million dollars worth of Spacing Jets toys.

He hoped to re sell them again in two days time!
