Chapter 109-110

Chapter 109 – He became very big!!

The glass container shattered, and the Ryukin poured all over Mappa as he lay on the floor.

Perhaps it was because of the collision, but Mappa seemed to have lost consciousness.

"Mappa… Old Mappa."

"Mister Mappa!!"

Fule and Aries held their mouths in shock while I ran towards him.

"Mappa!! Hey, Mappa. Wake up!!"

I quickly used water magic to try and wash the liquid off of his body.

However, the stuff stuck to him stubbornly and would not be washed away.

And so I tried using wind magic, but it was also no use.

This was all so unexpected, that even Shiel was frantically moving around Mappa as if she didn't know what to do.

"No, wait… Maybe it's times like these that I can gather it."

And so I decided to try and gather the Ryukin into my Inventory.

But just then, Mappa thrust out his hand as if telling me to wait.

"Ma-Mappa? Are you alright?"

And then, the Ryukin that surrounded Mappa started to gather together around his body.

Eventually, it took the shape of a large human that was about twice my height…

And its color started to change until it looked like skin.

Before I knew it, there was a very tall Mappa standing in front of us.

"Ma-Mappa?"

I asked. And as if to boast about his new body, Mappa began to show off his biceps.

They definitely looked real.

However, Fule's voice rang from behind.

"He-hey!! Don't show us that! Can't you see that Miss Shiel and I are still here!?"

Mappa's grass skirt wasn't quite covering everything, and Fule had become red in the face.

Even Aries was muttering, 'what shamelessness…' to herself.

As for Shiel, her thinking was much closer to a slime, and so she didn't seem to even notice anything.

Indeed, she was more surprised that Mappa had become so much bigger by using the ryukin.

Mappa bowed his head apologetically to Fule, and then changed his grass skirt into some tight underwear.

In a way, it just made things even more noticeable.

"I don't know, somehow this seems even more indecent!!"

Fule pointed out. Mappa groaned and tilted his head to the side.

I didn't even know that he could make sounds…though it was very quiet.

Perhaps he had been making sounds all of this time, but it was just too quiet to hear.

Still, it wasn't words.

It was more like a baby crying.

And so I asked Mappa.

"Mappa…you can control it?"

Mappa nodded.

"So Ryukin can be used with living creatures too… That could be very useful."

For instance, it would allow the goblins to make themselves look like humans.

We would use this Ryukin when making dolls, but there would be plenty left even after using all of the Heart Stones.

In that case, everyone might as well use the Ryukin.

"Well, that's a relief… Still, if you're going to come, you should have told someone. This place is too dangerous."

Mappa scratched the back of his head as if he was sorry. However, he quickly started changing the color of his body. And I could hear him laughing quietly to himself in a low voice.

…It was hard to tell if he had been sincere…

"Oh, well. More importantly, how are we going to get back?"

We had only come out to scout the place today.

However, we had found the Ryukin and would be able to take it back with us. I would even be able to store the Ryukin that was enveloping Mappa. Even though I didn't want to…

So, I just needed to gather all of it and return to the surface.

Only, it wasn't as easy as that. Because there were Chimeras outside of the storage house.

We could even hear them banging against the door right now.

"Shiel, is there a backdoor somewhere?"

I asked, but Shiel shook her body.

"So we can only leave through the front then… I would have preferred to avoid combat."

Still, it looked like I would just have to use my magic and fight them.

We had no choice now.

However, Aries suddenly raised her face as if in realization.

"Your Imperial Majesty! I have a plan!!"

"A plan?"

"Yes! A plan to drive away the Chimeras so that we can return to the surface!"

Aries looked at Mappa and then told us of this plan.

Shiel stood on top of the lever next to the door, and then turned to me.

I nodded to show that I was ready.

And then Shiel opened the door.

At the same time, the giant, liquid mass that we were riding on top of began to move out of the storage house.

As Taran retrieved Shiel with a spider web, we came out into the underground city once again.

Just as we expected, the Chimeras were waiting for us outside.

However, they now had to look up in order to see us, and they were clearly rattled by this.

The thing that we were riding on, was a Ryukin covered Mappa.

Mappa was controlling it and using it to become gigantic.

Indeed, he was just as big as the Mappa Golem that protected the shores of Sheorl Island.

"…hohoho…"

Mappa's eerie laugh was quiet and weak, and did not do justice to his size.

Even then, the Chimeras scattered like baby spiders.

No, even the real spiders, the Cave Spiders, were shocked and began to run away.

Taran was frantically waving her arms as if trying to explain that we were friends, but it was to no avail.

"We're so high up! Hey, Lord Heal! This is amazing! I can see the whole city from here!!"

Fule was quite excited, but I happened to dislike high places, and so I probably looked like I was dying.

And like that, we were able to reach the entrance to the city without fighting.

Chapter 110 – A human was born!!

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!"

I shouted on the back of the giant, golden snake…which was really Mappa after being covered in Ryukin.

"Mappa. Sto…uurgghhhaa…"

I held back the urge to vomit as Mappa slithered through the narrow tunnels.

The monsters that we passed by were all shocked to see a giant snake going down the tunnels instead of a train.

Perhaps Mappa's current form brought back memories of the Leviathan that we had fought.

Well, at least the front of the snake had Mappa's face, so no one ran away.

Without losing his momentum, Mappa shot right out of the exit of the cave.

When the sight of Sheorl island, and the construction work that was currently underway entered our vision, Mappa curled up and then landed on the ground.

"Haa…we made it…"

When I got off, Haines, the kobold, ran towards me on all fours like a dog.

"A-are you alright? Master Heal?"

He was worried because he saw that my face looked terribly sickly.

However, he then looked at Mappa and sweat started to gush from his forehead.

"What…what kind of monster is that?"

"If I had to give it a name… Maybe Mappathan."

I answered while trying to catch my breath.

When I turned around, I saw that the Cave Spiders from the underground city were all coming out from behind Mappa.

"Huh? Did we have so many spiders before? And they all seem so large. Also, they look blue."

"These are Cave Spiders that were living in the underground city. They came here because they wanted to see the surface. So they should be left alone."

I answered and then headed towards Mappa.

"Mappa. I have to take it back now."

I said. Mappa looked down at his giant body with a look of regret.

"Don't worry, we'll share a little of it with you. It might be useful at the smithy."

Only Mappa's face was sticking out of the Ryukin now, and he nodded as if he had no choice.

After seeing this, I gave the order for it to be automatically gathered.

And just like that, the Ryukin started to disappear.

I left Mappa some Ryukin that was about the size of a small shack.

And so Mappa used it to make himself big again.

Then the monster children started to gather around him curiously.

"He's as popular as ever… Alright. It's time to use this Ryukin to make some golems."

I had 50 Heart Stones. I could also try using some Magic Stones.

And so I imagined a Golem that had a human appearance, and was about to start working.

However…

"Hey, Mappa!! What the hell are you doing now!?"

Erevan shouted as he approached the giant Mappa.

Mappa was very proud of his new body, and was not afraid to boast in front of Erevan, who was now significantly smaller than him.

His usually chubby body was gone, and he was now covered in fake muscles.

It was as if he was challenging Erevan, who always took great pride in his own physique.

"You! Do you want to fight!?"

These two again. And it just had to be now.

What would happen if there was a second Mappa…no, a third?

I shook my head and tried to return to my work of creating Golems.

However, that's when it happened.

Mappa changed his appearance in an instant right in front of Erevan.

"What?!"

The person standing there was now a shapely woman with Mappa's face.

And it was in this form, that Mappa leaned in for a kiss.

Erevan tried to move away, but Mappa extended some Ryukin tentacles forward and started to tickle him.

"Ah! St-stop it!! You creep!"

"Oh, no?!"

Before I knew it, those words poured out of my mouth.

A new Golem had been born in front of me.

"Uh…"

The thing that was in front of us was a Mappa woman. And it wasn't wearing any clothes.

Upon seeing this, Mappa immediately tore away the Ryukin and returned to his original form.

Then he jumped on the new Golem.

Apparently, I had done it again…

As everyone watched with expressions of disgust, Mappa tried to kiss the Golem.

However, the Golem was holding out its hand in front of Mappa's mouth.

Mappa looked disappointed by this indifferent reaction.

Huh? But how did a Golem have a will of its own? Or was it because it was Mappa?

In order to test if this was true, I made a number of other Golems while basing them off of people I had seen in Sanfaris.

However, there was a problem that erupted.

I had made both men and women, old and young, but I had forgotten one thing.

I didn't order them to put on any clothes.

And they all looked quite embarrassed about this.

"Are…you really embarrassed?"

I asked, and they all said that they were.

This was also a surprise.

They were able to talk.

But then again, Mappa's voice had suddenly been amplified, so perhaps this was similar to that.

Besides, Golems had always been able to understand my orders and carry them out.

"So-sorry! All of you. Copy those around you and make some clothes!"

I said, and the Golems all transformed their Ryukin so it looked like they were wearing simple clothes.

"I did not expect this… Does Heart Stone make them have actual hearts?"

Or was it just able to make it look like they did.

The Golems nodded when I asked about this.

"So, it's just for show then."

But even then, it was still surprising.

Their reaction to being naked had been exactly what you would expect from a human.

Not only that, but they could even talk. This would make it easier to coordinate with the Golems.

After that, I went about modifying the old Golems as well.
