Back at Grandma Esme's house, David had just finished chopping the wood for the fire when Amber approached him to thank him for his good job. "Thank you so much David. I hope you are not mad at me for making you do such a lowly job. Its just that the wood for the fire has been spend and the man that used to chop the wood for us is not available". "Its ok Ms Cora. I don't mind doing these lowly jobs besides I used to spent a lot of time at summer camp so I am pretty much used to it. Besides it is also an honor to do something for you", replied David whilst entering the house and placing the wood in the stocking corner near the fireplace.
"Thank you! Thank you! So much David! You truly are a wonderful person. Getting out of your way to help us even though you are such a great, rich and powerful figure. May God bless you for your kindness my son", said Grandma Esme. "You don't have to thank me at all Grandma Esme. It is my duty as your granddaughter's boyfriend and also maybe your future grandson in-law", said David whilst chuckling. " Well of course my dear (chuckling). It will definitely be an honor to have you as my grandson in-law. Now come on! I have made some warm milk and cookies for you. Come on into the dining room and help yourself", said Grandma Esme.
"Thank you grandma. Let me just go and wash my hands and I will join you", said David and he went to the kitchen to wash his hands. Grandma Esme was about to go to the dining room when she noticed that that her daughter had a look of worry on her face. "Amber...whats wrong? Is everything alright?", asked Grandma Esme. "Oh...its nothing mother...its just that I feel a little bit worried about Amya. I don't know...I just feel this uneasiness inside my heart that something bad must have happened to her. I mean she should have been back by now from the market right...", replied Amber in a worried tone. "Don't worry my dear. I am sure that Amya is fine. Maybe you are just still a bit shaken up from yesterday's incident. I am sure that she is ok and must probably be on her way back home right now. Come on now..lets go and have some warm milk and cookies while we wait for her", said Grandma Esme whilst ushering Amber inside the dining room.
After drinking the warm milk and cookies, the family then decided to watch tv in the living room whilst still waiting for Amya to arrive from the market. But after an hour without seeing anyone, Amber became exceedingly worried. "I am now very worried mother! It has been an hour already and Amya is still not back from town! Maybe I should try and call her and hear whats going on!" Said Amber frantically. "Yes maybe you should call her and hear what's going on", said Grandma Esme in a worried tone. Amber then called Amya's phone but there was no reply, no one was picking up.
After trying again for a couple of times she then frantically stated, " No! No she is still not picking up my call! Oh mother...now I am very worried! Why is she not picking up! What happened to my baby girl! What happened!" Amber was now being hysterical and tears were already streaming down her face. "Calm down Amber! Calm down! I am sure that there is a reasonable explanation for this. I am confident that Amya is just fine and she is going to come home! Please my dear just calm down!" Pleading Grandma Esme whilst trying to calm Amber.
David did not say a word but just went and collected his overcoat and car keys and then said, "I am going to look for her!" "And I am coming with you! I won't stay here and do nothing", declared Amber and she also took her overcoat and said, "Mother you stay here in case she comes back! Ok!" "Ok my dear! Please be safe as well and bring Amya back with you!" Said Grandma Esme. But before David and Amber left the house to look for Amya, the doorbell rang. And David since he was the one closest to the door went and opened it. After opening the door his eyes went wide like saucers on what was in front of him. His Amya was unconscious and was being held and carried by another man. "Amya! Oh my goodness!" Screamed Amber whilst running to the door. "Timothy!! Oh my word! What are you doing here with Amya! What happened?" Asked Grandma Esme who also dashed to the door after hearing Amber scream Amya's name. Timothy did not reply to grandma Esme's questions because he was in the middle of a staring contest with David. And both were asking the same question in their minds, 'Who is he?'.
