Chapter 78: The confession

[FOUR YEARS AGO]

Soobin was inside a car following a black car. There were two more cars in front of the car he was following. He didn't know where he was going. Nor did he know if he was following the right one. He was wearing a black shirt which had a lot of harnesses. He was wearing black jeans. Though his appearance was cool, he was quite nervous. The car stopped in front of him and that's why he also told the driver to stop the car. He got down from the car. He knew someone was in danger, but didn't know who it was or how he should help those people. So he just followed the car like a fool.

As it was a bridge, there was no place to hide for Soobin. But he managed to hide his tall body behind a car. He saw some people from the car's get down and they blocked the way so that nobody could commute on the way. Soobin understood the people they were talking about would go in this path. But he didn't know how he should save them. Or how these people would kill them. That time a car was coming in their way. The men looked at each other as they were assuring each other that it was this car. Soobin wasn't sure what they were going to do. So he kept looking at them silently. But before he could understand, they threw something on the car and within the blink of an eye, the car exploded in front of his eyes. Soobin was astounded for a while. He couldn't understand what he should do. The car was burning in front of him and he kept watching it being speechless. After a moment, he went to the car which was still burning. He didn't know how many people were inside the car as it was flipped. But a man was trying his best to come outside. He was going to help the guy, but the people who made the blust, came and captured him.

"A-are they…d-dead?" Soobin asked the men who were holding him tightly.

"Why're you here? It's dangerous! Let me call the boss and inform that you're here" They said and pulled him away.

"Help them! How could you guys do something like that? Let me help them!" Soobin started throwing a tantrum though he couldn't break free from the guys as his whole body was trembling.

Soobin still remembers the scenery clearly. But he couldn't understand that it was Jackson and his relatives as he couldn't see their faces. And as Jackson misjudged him, he couldn't get the clue. Soobin sighed and looked at the apple he was holding.

"Neither you could do something nor could I." Cha Won said in a grumpy face.

"What?" Soobin asked.

"Hm. Those people were smuggled in the end." He said and took a long breath.

"But, what did that jerk do to you? Why did he always ask me about you? To send you to him?" Won was curious.

In reply, Soobin looked away silently as if his lips were sealed. He remembered everything lucidly. It was just he didn't want to talk about how he tried to assault him. Locked him up until he agreed to sleep with him. Though every time, he succeed to escape. But, one time, he got beaten badly to reject him and nearly got r*ped. His hand started shaking when he was reminiscing about those times. He never said anything about it to anyone. So, how can he say that to his own father? And what good would come if he inform him right then? He still couldn't eat the apple and it was turning red.

"Uh! It's okay if you don't wanna say." Soobin's dad patted on his thigh as he noticed how his hands were shaking.

"Most of the time, he wanted me to sit on his lap. But, I can't tell you more. Just guess it for yourself." Soobin was staring at the apple while saying.

"Huh? S-sit…on…w-what...." Won couldn't blurt out anymore since he was getting so mad at that guy that he wanted to kill the man right then.

"Too bad we can't see him anymore to get your revenge!" Cha Won said in a mysterious way.

"What do you mean?" Soobin was curious to know, but he didn't get any reply from his dad.

"Eat up! It's turning red!" Won said as he wanted to divert Soobin's attention from the matter.

Oh! Beomgyu-ah! Are you here to visit Soobin? Then, you're here at the right time! He's awake now and you can talk with him! His father is here too!" Ki Bum raised his voice so that Beomgyu could hear him clearly.

"Ah! Hello! Did you visit him already?" Beomgyu faked a smile and it was too obvious.

"Yeah! I visited him just now. I saw his dad for the first time. He doesn't look that dangerous though, hahaha!" Ki was acting cheerful as he thought Beomgyu would react the same way. But surprising him, Beomgyu didn't react the same way as him. He just sneered a bit with a grumpy face and replied,

"I know right!"

"Did something happen? Why're you looking so down?" Ki asked.

"Oh! Nothing! I have something urgent to deal with. Have a good day!" Beomgyu bowed to show his respect and started walking to the opposite direction of the hospital.

"Um, what just happened?" Ki was a bit anxious as Beomgyu wasn't looking fine, but he thought it'd be alright.

Actually Beomgyu had nothing to take care of. He has been doing this since Soobin woke up. He couldn't bring up the courage to face Soobin. So, he just roamed around the hospital all day. And when it became dark, he sneakily went into the hospital and waited outside of Soobin's room. He kept waiting outside until Soobin fell asleep. And when there's no one around, he went inside and watched his sleeping beauty with all of his heart. He didn't sleep as he was afraid he'd get caught by Soobin if he dared to fall asleep. And before the night ended, he came outside again to roam around.

Beomgyu was taking a stroll around the area and discovered some beautiful places to see. How nice it'd be if he could come to see the scenery with Soobin! Beomgyu was fantasizing about it while wandering around. Soon, the sun set down and the artificial lights lit the area. There were so many people on the street since it was time to return home. All of them were busy with themselves. Beomgyu was walking slowly as he wasn't busy at all. Though he walked around all day, he wasn't feeling happy or healthy at all. He lowered his head while walking and after some time, he reached the hospital. He was thinking whether it'd be good to enter now.

However, he wanted to see Soobin as soon as possible. He wanted to sit beside him and look at the sleeping face as soon as he could. He was missing him very much, but he was scared to be found out. While fighting in his mind, he gave up towards his heart and went inside. He went near the room Soobin was staying in. He noticed there was nobody outside. He peeked inside through the glass window to check if Soobin was sleeping or not. He saw Soobin was laying down while closing his eyes. He thought Soobin was in his deep slumber like always. So, he went inside catwalking. He didn't make any sounds and went near him. To make sure if he was really sleeping or not, he tickled beneath Soobin's feet and found him asleep.

Beomgyu felt relieved after discovering Soobin sleeping. He sat down on the floor beside the bed. He looked at Soobin's face and kept staring as he was mesmerized by how beautiful Soobin looked.

After some minutes, he held Soobin's hand and sandwiched it between his hands. He looked at the bruises and gently brushed his finger upon the bruises.

"Soobin hyung! You're in so much pain, right? I'm sorry! It's all my fault! I didn't know he'd do this to you. Yes, I tricked you to go there, but why would I want the person I like to get beaten? I don't know what's going on between you and Jackson hyung. But, he was a true friend to me. He always supported me whenever I needed it. That's why I thought it won't be a big deal if I listen to him since I've always trusted him. The night when you left me alone again, I don't know why, but I felt as if you were pushing me away again. Do you know how much it irritated me when I was trying to figure out why you left me alone again?

However, I just wanted to tell you the truth. Jackson hyung! He applied make-up on me and assured me that it'd be okay. He said, if you come and save me, that means you care for me. Yes, I was a little greedy to see how you'd react if you saw me like that. But I was wrong! I shouldn't have agreed with him. I should've understood he had deceitful intentions behind it. I….am….. sorry!" Beomgyu's eyes filled with tears and he needed to stop in the middle as he tried to wipe his tears.

"I know you're mad at me. And you should! But all I wanted to do was confess to you. Yes, I like you. I don't know how I should put it in a word.... but I really really like you. After I got to know you, my life became way better than ever. I was very happy. I have butterflies in my stomach whenever I'm with you. Do you get it? I was planning to tell you all of these before the incident. In my clear mind and after being sure how you feel towards me. But after what happened, I can't bring myself to face you. If I didn't call your dad, I don't know what would happen to you." Beomgyu sniffled and tried to wipe his runny nose with his sleeve. He started again,

"You have the full right to be angry. Although I like you doesn't mean I can be with you, right? I hope you'll meet someone way better than me who won't bring misery for you and take good care of you. I…. won't trouble you anymore. Please…get well soon." Beomgyu left Soobin's hand and wiped his tears again and again with both of his sleeves. He was sniffling too much and that's why he rubbed his nose again to clean his runny nose. He stood up and went closer to Soobin. His cheek has some slight cut marks. Beomgyu went closer to his cheeks as he wanted to steal a kiss from him. But his long hair touched Soobin's nose and lips and tickled him. Soobin couldn't pretend to sleep anymore. He opened his eyes and grabbed Beomgyu's hand tightly.

"Gotcha!" Soobin grinned as he heard all of the words Beomgyu just said.
