Chapter 51: End of flashback
"No! Don't touch me! Please let me go!" Beomgyu begged the guy who was grabbing her wrist forcefully, trying to pin her down.
"BEHAVE! Otherwise, I don't know what I'd do with you if you get me angry." The guy shouted and kept trying to tease her, have fun with her. But when he lost his interest because the toy wasn't listening to him at all, it made him really angry. He pushed her away, making her fall on the ground.
"I TOLD YOU, NOT TO ANGERED ME, DIDN'T I?" He took a thick stick and started hitting Beomgyu again and again as if he was hitting any rock until it was broken. Beomgyu couldn't help herself but to be beaten by half dead since she wasn't capable enough to fight back.
She lost consciousness and when she opened her eyes, she noticed there was something shiny afar of her and it got her eyesight as soon as she woke up. She was still lying on the floor. Her whole body was hurting. She could smell her own blood and she was certain that her full face was covered by blood. But it wasn't illuminated enough to see her body's condition. She could hear the heavy rainfall and thunder though she didn't look outside. Cold wind bestowed upon her body which made her shiver into cold. Even if her mind wasn't in its best condition to think, she prayed for her freedom again and again. She tried to sit down with all of her strength. The liquid mixture of tears and blood went inside her mouth as soon as she sat down. She really wished there was someone who would come to save her. She tried to stand up but fell on the ground again. The shining thing was so attractive that she couldn't resist herself anymore and nearly crawled to get it. When she touched it, it felt like a key to her. After giving it a second thought, she took it with her trembling hand and tried to open the lock on her feet. She was lucky enough and the chain opened. She saw a little hope to get out of there but as soon as she opened the chain, she heard footsteps again and understood the guy was coming to her, she acted as if she was nothing but a dead body. She bit her lips since she was so nervous to be caught and also it was very hard to play dead in the cold.
"Hey! Wake up! I know you woke up. I heard your noise so don't play with me." the guy poked her with his toes. Beomgyu realized that she can't play dead anymore so she opened her eyes slowly in a very weak way.
"Can you sit down? Let me apply meds on you." the guy acted very cold but seems like he was regretting his own actions earlier and he wants to compensate her with a bunch of medicines and anticipations. Beomgyu tried to sit down but she couldn't as she was too weak but the real reason was she didn't want to sit down because she didn't want to get caught.
"Ah! I-I....I a-am sorry. I-I l-lost my m-mind. But, I TOLD YOU NOT TO ANGER ME, RIGHT? Look what you've done to yourself?" the man suddenly pitied her, and tried to get close to her. Beomgyu saw that the guy brought some food and medicine kit to heal her. She sat down and took the initiative to try to touch the food.
"Are you hungry?" the guy asked. Beomgyu shook her head negatively and pointed to the beer bottle.
"Ah! You're thirsty! You can drink some soju. I'll pour it for you." the guy happily took the bottle while saying,
"I'm glad you're opening up to me. I'm really sorry for earlier. I shouldn't force you. Do you know how much I liked you when I first saw you? That's why I bought you from those hyenas. You should thank me." Beomgyu was so eager to get the bottle from him that she snatched the glass bottle from his hand and pretended to drink. Actually, she was thirsty but she didn't want to drink that. The guy came close to her and asked what the soju tasted like. Beomgyu looked at the window to divert the perverts mind and as she thought, he also looked at the broken window. Beomgyu took the chance and assembled all of her strength. Then she hit his head with the bottle as hard as she could. Before the guy understood anything, the bottle shattered into pieces and he could feel the warm liquid flowing down from his head. Then he fell on the ground.
Though there wasn't enough strength in her, she took her weak body out from the broken window somehow. It seems like the rain was getting heavier and within the blink of an eye, she got fully drenched by rainwater. She tried to run but her feet were injured by beating from earlier. She didn't have enough courage to look back since she didn't know if she could really knock out that crazy person. She kept running forward with her nearly broken legs though she was too slow. And because of rain and darkness, she barely could see anything. Moreover, she was barefooted. So lots of thorns and small pieces of glass pierced into her feet again and again. But there was no time to notice them for her.
After some time, she reached the cliff and noticed it was on the edge of a hill. And it was very dark downside so she couldn't understand how long the hill was and what was under it. She could feel that she had already stepped on the edge and there was almost no ground under one of her feet. She got more afraid and backed up a little. She looked around and tried to search for a way. She knew, if she went back, those guys would come after her again and in that condition, she would be caught. And she really didn't want to be caught again. It'd be better if she just killed herself rather than hand herself to those mad dogs. She wanted to scream but she was so afraid that no sound came from her mouth. Her teardrops had already been mixed with the rainwater and to make her more afraid, the thunderstorm began. She started trembling out of fear and cold. She was hesitating if she should just turn around and search for a place where she could spend the night. But it was very unfortunate of her, the ground got weak because of water and before she could notice it started to break. A heavy thunder fell just a way behind her and made a monstrous sound. She pressed her ears with her palms but as soon as she tried to turn back, she felt the soil under her feet already broke and was rolling down. She gulped and took two steps backwards but it was of no use. Within a blink of an eye, just like the ground, soil and the stones, the human who was standing, fighting for living for all that long, also started rolling down.
