Chapter 18: The dream girl

It's a beautiful village full of greens. A very fresh air is touching all over the body of Beomgyu. He was standing by the riverside and the wind was whooshing in his ears and kept trying to tell him the story of a girl. Birds kept chirping as if they never got tired of screaming and talking. They were more talkative than Beomgyu and even if Beomgyu tried to race with them, he could never win against those birds. The small cabana was seen from afar. The view of the sky was so clear that Beomgyu felt that he was going to take a ride in the sky.

"Hey! Winter! Let's go and have some fun!" Karina said smilingly. Seeing her smile, Beomgyu's heart started fluttering. He never saw such a charming, so beautiful, so cute girl in his life.

"Let's go! What are you waiting for?" she asked smilingly and came to him. Grabbing Beomgyu's hand she pulled him with her somewhere. But Beomgyu could see his hand wasn't looking like his original hand. It looked just like a girl's hand. Very thin and weak. None of his veins were visible. He had such long nails with red colored nail polish.

"Go! Go and bring the shuttle first." Karina said to him and pointed at a tree. There was a shuttle which had been trapped on the highest peak of a tree and she was telling him to bring it down.

"Oh! How can I bring that down?" Beomgyu said but he thought he was hearing his voice wrong. He cleared his throat and tried to say it again.

"H-How C-Can I?" but this time he was assured that even his voice was girly too. He looked down and saw his legs. They were looking much thinner and they didn't have any muscle. He also noticed that instead of shirts, he was wearing a frock.

"What happened, Winter? Did something happen?" Karina asked with a worried face.

"No! I'm going to grab this. You should stay right under me so that I can throw and you can catch it, okay?" Beomgyu said.

"Okay, Go!" Karina became happy and said to Beomgyu. He tried to ride on the tree and noticed it was very easy for him to ride on the tree. But he couldn't remember if he really rode on trees his whole life. But he managed to go and reached the top of the tree even though it was very high. He shook the branch of the tree on which the shuttlecock was stuck. The cock fell from the tree and Karina went to catch it up but Beomgyu became unstable and couldn't manage to hold himself on the tree. He was also falling from the top of the tree.

"WINTER! WINTER! WIIIIIINTEEEEEEER!" Karina kept shouting though her voice was fading slowly.

Beomgyu opened his eyes and sat down. He was huffing as if he finished a marathon just then. He started sweating but his mind was still in his dream which he just saw.

"What did you see? Can you remember anything? Did you really see something? Anything?" Namjoon was beside him. He asked him because he was so curious if he would succeed or not. Suddenly Beomgyu felt he was grabbing something and he tightened his grip and suddenly something else came on his hand. He looked to the other side and found Soobin. Beomgyu was holding Soobin's hand and Soobin also put his other hand on Beomgyu's hand.

"Are you okay?" Soobin asked smilingly. Now that Beomgyu realized Soobin was beside him for all the time, he felt relaxed. And hearing the question from Soobin makes him at ease and eager to answer.

"Hm. I'm okay. I just felt like I was falling from somewhere." Beomgyu said and smiled forcefully.

"Falling? From where? Did anyone push you? Were you alone?" Namjoon fixed his glasses again and asked as if he was the police and was going to catch a murderer.

"No! I just fell from a tree." Beomgyu smiled seriously.

"Eh?" Namjoon was confused as he couldn't understand whether he really saw his past or he was just dreaming.

"It's okay, even if you fall from the mountain, we'll catch you from now on." Soobin patted his shoulder and said smilingly. Beomgyu looked at Soobin's eyes and got teary eyes. He didn't know why he got so emotional just by those words. And he felt like he could trust him as he was the closest one of him. But did Soobin also feel the same way? Does he think Beomgyu is someone close to him? He didn't know. He was searching for the answers but suddenly Namjoon touched his arm and pushed with very little power.

"Hey! What more did you see?" Namjoon wanted to know since he needs to know for his research.

"It felt like I was in a girl's body. And someone kept calling me Winter." Beomgyu answered confusedly. But hearing the answer, Namjoon wasn't surprised.

"And?" he asked again with a calm voice.

"What? A girl's body?" Soobin was surprised.

"Hm. And it seems like she was very close to me. And hearing her voice, my heart was racing at top speed. I don't understand who the girl was. She just kept dragging me to play with her." Beomgyu replied and sighed.

"It's okay, it'll be fine. Please come next week too. You need to find out a lot. This little scenery won't help us to bring your full memory back." Namjoon said.

"Come outside now. I'll give you some pills and you need to take them before going to bed. It'll help you to get a sound sleep and you won't get a dream. If you keep dreaming of that scary dream again and again, it'll be effective in regaining your memory. So, try to calm down and think about the positive things all the time. Got it? If you dream that again, please do inform me so that I can record the information and apply it to my research." Namjoon said and went to his table and chair. He sat on his chair and there were two more chairs kept in front of the table.

"Please have a seat." Namjoon said. Then he noted every word of Beomgyu on his notepad while repeating one question more than three to four.

"Which kind of dreams were you guys mentioning? Can you please tell me too?" Soobin was also curious about Beomgyu's dream.

"Tell him on your way home. Another patient will come very soon. I need to take care of them too." Namjoon was writing something on a piece of paper. "Please buy these pills and take them home and assure yourself to take one of them regularly." Namjoon showed the name of the pills to Beomgyu and Soobin as the nurse hasn't returned yet.

"Okay, I'll take them, don't worry." Beomgyu stood up and said. Soobin also stood up and bowed to Namjoon. Then the two of them left the chamber.

When the two left Namjoon's room, he took out his phone from his pocket and called someone.

"He saw a glimpse of his memories. And he saw the girl too. Would it be okay to tell him the truth?" Namjoon said with his deep voice.

"No, Not yet. I want him to remember everything by himself." Said the other party.

"Okay, I got it. I'm not sure if he'll remember everything but I'll do my best. Just don't cancel the deal. He's my subject of experiment after all." Namjoon said with a suspicious voice and hung up the call.
