Chapter 14: Who needs condolences more?

"Soobin! Why didn't you tell me before leaving yesterday? I was so worried for you!" Beomgyu shouted while saying this in one breath. Soobin was standing on a footbridge and leaning on the railing. He was trying to watch the fishes under the pond. He had a piece of bread in his hand and he was breaking them into very small parts to feed the fishes. The water wasn't clear so the fish couldn't be seen clearly until they came very up to eat. Whenever Soobin threw some pieces of bread, they came up to eat them but right after they took them in their mouth, they went deeper to swallow them fully. Soobin comes here when he has to divert his mind. And he comes here more often recently.

Feeding the fishes could make anyone forget their burdens. Hearing Beomgyu, he was a little surprised because he never told him that he comes here often. So how could he find it out? Soobin was trying to get the answer. Maybe he went to the store and asked Ki Bum hyung and he told him about the place.

"Ah! Why can't I escape from him? Why did he catch me every time I wanted to flee? How troublesome!" Soobin said in his mind.

"Look! That fish looks very beautiful, doesn't it?" Soobin pointed to an orange colored small clown fish and said.

"Where? Where?" Beomgyu tried to notice but he couldn't.

"Come closer and look straight to my finger." Soobin said and pointed at the fish again with his index finger. Beomgyu came very close to Soobin and stood beside him. He looked at Soobin's hand and tried to look straight at his finger but he couldn't find any small fish.

"WHERE!" Beomgyu asked with a loud voice. He was too eager to see the fish no matter what. Soobin pulled him and put his right hand on Beomgyu's right shoulder and put his left arm on Beomgyu's other shoulder. Now, if anyone looks at them, they'd assume that the two of them are dating as Soobin nearly hugged Beomgyu and they were standing in titanic position.

"Look in front!" Soobin said to Beomgyu and pointed at the fish again. The fish was still eating the bread pieces. This time Beomgyu could see it and bounced with joy.

"Ah! I see it. I see it!" he kept bouncing. Soobin put his hand down and held Beomgyu before he understood what he was doing.

"HoW cUtE!" Beomgyu said in a cute tone. That time the fish went under the water and it wasn't visible anymore. Beomgyu turned around to look at Soobin and noticed that his face was too closer. His heart started fluttering when he noticed how they were standing in a romantic way. He blushed and hold Soobin's hand. Soobin also looked at him and finally realized what he was doing. He moved his hand from Beomgyu and pushed him away as soon as possible. It was like they had the magnetic repulsion and moved away from each other. Both of their faces became red and they couldn't look at each other anymore.

"C-Can I feed the fishes too?" Beomgyu asked without looking at Soobin.

"O-Of c-course!" Soobin smiled and said. He tore the bread into small pieces and gave them to Beomgyu.

Beomgyu took them and started breaking them into very small parts. He then threw the pieces into the pond and as soon as he threw the bread pieces, a lot of fishes came together to eat them. They were eating like they hadn't eaten for several days.

"WOOAH! WOAH! They're such fast eaters!" Beomgyu was surprised to see the speed of the fishes. Soobin looked at him and couldn't hold his laughter back as he was too cute to handle.

"You can buy some and take them home." Soobin said as Beomgyu liked the fish too much.

"Eh? Can I?" Beomgyu asked and put more pieces into the water.

Yes, You have to talk with the owner and pay him for the fish." Soobin smiled and said.

"Really?" Beomgyu was happy and asked.

"Hm." Soobin replied without more words as he was busy smiling at Beomgyu. He looked happy but after thinking about something, he became sad.

"But who'd take care of them?" Beomgyu said and pouted.

"Of course You! Who else would take care of them?" Soobin said and laughed.

"I won't stay home all day." Beomgyu said with a worried face.

"Then your mom will take care of them during the day and you....." Soobin couldn't finish his word. He also gave some bread pieces to the fishes.

"I don't have a mom." Beomgyu said being very sad and looked at Soobin.

"Ah! I didn't know! I'm sorry. I thought you lived with your parents." Soobin felt guilty and said.

"I don't have a dad either." Beomgyu replied shortly and put some bread into his own mouth.

"I-I'm really sorry. I didn't know. Did you grow up on your own? It must be so hard for you." Soobin. tried to console Beomgyu.

"I mean, I don't know if I have them or not. But right now, they're not by my side and I don't know if they're alive or not." Beomgyu answered and sighed.

"I-I couldn't get it. Would it be okay if I ask you to explain?" Soobin was confused if he should ask him or not but he was so curious that he spilled it out.

In reply, Beomgyu just sighed. It's not been long since he met Soobin. So, would it be okay if he explains everything to him? Can he understand how he feels? Would it be normal to share his burdens with him? Beomgyu was so confused. He looked at Soobin and saw his questionable and curious eyes. He can't hold it any longer. Even though he met Soobin a few days ago, he didn't know why but felt like he was someone very close to him.

"To tell you the truth..." Beomgyu said with a very low voice.

"Hm?" Soobin looked at Beomgyu's eyes with a very calm gaze.

"I don't know who I am and where I came from. I forgot everything. They just found me about two years ago and told me that I was senseless for nearly one year. I didn't know what happened to me and how I ended up coming here." Beomgyu said while looking at the pond though his mind wasn't on the fishes.

"You don't know anything? Then how could you remember your name?" Soobin asked. He kept looking at Beomgyu. He feels like he wasn't the one who needs condolences but Beomgyu was the one. He felt pity for Beomgyu and was also curious about what happened to him before.

"It's not my name either. They gave me this name." Beomgyu answered with a very sadistic look.

"Can I ask who they are?" Soobin felt curious about "they" which Beomgyu mentioned twice.

"It was Namjoon hyung whom you met earlier. They saved me and treated me. Now it's all thanks to them that I could reach this far and live well." Beomgyu said. His voice was so calm that nobody else could hear his voice except for Soobin.

"They are really nice people! Don't worry, you'll find out about your past some day. I'll help you to find it out, hm?" Soobin smiled and put his hand on Beomgyu's head to caress his hair.

"Namjoon hyung also said he could help me. He told me to go to his chamber. But I'm scared to go alone. Can you come with me tonight?" Beomgyu asked and gave him a glaze where his eyes were shining and Soobin couldn't say no to him.

"Yay!" Beomgyu bounced once again and suddenly he hugged Soobin without thinking anything. He felt really light after he shared his burdens with him. But Soobin was surprised by his sudden action but he couldn't say anything to Beomgyu. He slowly touched his back and patted Beomgyu's back to comfort him.
