Chapter 26
As we walked, I couldn’t help noticing that Tohr shortened his long strides to match my much shorter ones. His arm stayed around my waist possessively as we strolled through the wide courtyard. I took my time noticing the small details of each building. They were all immaculately taken care of, and I noticed that if there was a problem someone was working on it.
Each house had some form of a garden in front of or around it. Every fruit I had seen gracing my plate could be seen in the village, along with every flower they had used to decorate the room.
Stalls lined the street in front of the house, and the owners were bowing to the king. They seemed to almost beg him to look at their wares.
