The Book of Arcana: Black blade

Even in the modern world, there are monsters that lurk in the dark, monsters that walk among us, and monsters that even control us. Only the knights and paladins protect us against such monsters. This is the story of Theo and his journey of becoming one of such protectors.

Chapter 8

Waking up, Theo saw that he was in a cell of some sort. Sitting up he realized he was on a hospital bed. He was wearing a hospital johnny, and had a tube running through his arm.

He tried moving, but realized he was chained by his biceps. 'I can't break these' he thought.

"You're finally awake" a familiar voice came from the other side of the bars. Coming into Theo's view was Jakob, he was sitting on a chair outside. "We oghtta stop meeting like this kid." Jakob said, rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"What's going on?, why am I chained?!" No asked in a bit of a panic. "The last thing I remember is_ oh shit!, what did I do?". Theo was positive the reason he was here was because of a certain someone in his subconscious.

Staring at his trembling hands, his eyes began to water, "D-Did I kill someone" he stuttered. Jakob was trying to figure the guy out. He went berserk in the expo, and now he's behaving like he doesn't remember. 'Is this all an act. But honestly the guy at the end of the expo and this guy are quite different to me. almost different."

Shifting positions, he leaned forward and cleared his throat. "You are here, not because of your fighting technique or your behavior, but because of what you did, or rather used during said fight" Jakob said. "Have you ever heard of the term anti-magic?" Jakob asked.

Theo thought hard. He frowned and said "I know not of any magic of this sort."

Jakob sighed, "What are we gonna do then. The others want you executed, and unless I see a reason we should not to separate your brain from your body, I agree to their decision."

Theo gulped after hearing what Jakob had to say. "There is a silver lining though." Jakob said as he was getting up from his seat. "For some reason, Arthur is against your execution."

With that he began to walk away when Theo called out, "You never told me what anti-magic is!". Jakob turned around and said "Something vile!".

After Jakob left, Theo was left to his thoughts. 'What did I do.'

Back at the knights head quarters, a meeting was being carried out. In the middle of the room was Arthur, standing on a kind of podium. He was facing the three elders, the ones with the most power in the knights organization. To his right, and listening were the remaining five of the six paladins.

The room they were in was dim lighter, and had the names of every elder that has ever been since the beginning of the Knight's service.

"I say we should kill that boy!" one of the elders said. "There's no need for something so dark and evil to roam this world any longer!. We know what that power is capable of!". "What do you think about the suggestion Arthur." The elder in the middle said. "You were the one who faced this boy."

Arthur, who now had an eye patch on replied "I believe he should be allowed to join the knights either way. He has shown great promise and I believe such talents should not be put to waste."

"Preposterous!" the elder from before spoke, "He is a threat to the unity, and should be destroyed!". "He is not wrong about that." the last elder, who was an elderly woman spoke.

"His energy oozed death and destruction. If we hadn't intervened, he could have killed you, no!, he would have killed you. And now you defend him. Don't be a fool Arthur, we are even willing to let you be the one to take his life since he took your eye."

"And clearly his dignity." another paladin mumbled.

Arthur dropped his head down and frowned. He suddenly had an idea.

"What if I take him in as an 'Intruxh-ahrambe'. That way, I can keep an eye on him. And if I see even a hint that he is going to be a threat, I will end his life where he stands, or sit."

"Does everyone here agree with that decision?. Or rather, does anyone disagree?" The elder in the middle asked. No one indicated. Even the elder who wanted Theo killed so badly had to see the reason in Arthur's statement.

"Since there is no objection, by the power vested in me by the great king Arthur and the elders of original. I hereby declare the boy under intensive surveillance by the paladin Arthur Pendragon."

And with that, Theo's life would be extended by a little bit. But the journey of his growth is only just beginning.

As Theo stood in front of his supposedly 'new' apartment, a lot of things ran through his mind. He used to live in a really crummy studio apartment alone, which was funded by Bo's father, but this, this was an upgrade.

He opened turned his key and opened the door. Although he had seen photos of the apartment, but he was still left in awe. 'Tribeca rules'.

The apartment was really large. In the living room, it had pure white leather sofa set, not any of that shitty Home Depot bullshit. This was THE REAL STUFF, the expensive kind with a glass table, and a rug you can sleep comfortably on. In front of that was a plasma TV on a stand, and surround sound system. It was daytime so most of the light came from glass panels behind the TV, showing a few of New York.

"Fuck you Timmy!" an angry voice came from behind the kitchen counter. Wheeling around, Theo saw a lanky teenager with curly ginger hair, and a pair of glasses. He had a headset on. 'This must be my new roommate?'

"Hi I'm Theo" he said hastily. In response, the roommate lifted a hand in acknowledgment as he continued cursing. He opened the fridge, picked a few things and disappeared into his room, like a silent thief in the night. Well, remove the silent part.

Theo shrugged and ignored what just transpired. He entered his room and put down his things. At that moment, the doorbell rang. 'Who could that be?'

When he opened the door, he was surprised-not so surprised to see Bo.

Bo somehow managed to hold two six packs in one hand. "Let's celebrate you being alive. For now." he said.

"Shhh, there's a civilian in the house." Theo replied. "Besides, I'm sorta on probation. It's different from being let go."

Bo scoffed and pushed Theo aside, then walked into the apartment with such swagger, that you'd think he owned the place. "Nice place by the way. Why don't you show me to your room Theo-duck.

"Pleeaase, I'm not that kind of gal." Theo retorted. Bo threw a sarcastic smile at Theo, then wiggled the drinks in his hands. Lifting his hands in surrender, he led the way to his room.

The room itself for one was as large as Theo's last apartment. It was a really wide space, and a ladder at the other end of the room, leading to a desk and a bed at the side.

"Why don't we get to unpacking, while we drink the first set?" Bo suggested.

Theo and Bo spent the next two hours. unpacking Theo's things. Some, Bo begged to be thrown away, and some he approved were manly enough. Like the sword he used to take Arthur's eye. How he got it back, no one really knew.

As they sat on two bean bags, sipping their beer after a hard day's work. They started talking about different shit, like how he started his training with Jakob, and how he had fallen for another trainee called Margot. All Theo got from that conversation however was that she had really nice tits.

After a few more drinks, Bo kept the rest of the beers in the fridge, saying they're for next time, and finally left.

As Theo stood alone in the kitchen, he decided to make dinner for himself. It was then he remembered there was another Homo Sapiens in the house.

Knocking on his hothead roomie's door, he let himself in. The scene in front of him was surprising as it was horrifying. On a bean bag, sat ginger, with his phone in left, cock on the other. He didn't seem to notice Theo though. He quickly but quietly closed the door.

"I just lost my appetite." he sighed.

He went to bed that night, and was tortured in his sleep by really monstrous cock monsters.
