Aiden Had The Final Say
Ryan went to find his grandfather as soon as he heard about the news.
"Grandfather, you cannot do this to me," he complained. "Aiden and I are officially married. I married him before he turned into a vampire! The others are clearly just looking to make a pure-blood vampire of his quality join their families!"

Lord Marcus Caldwell put down his reading glasses and leaned against his recliner. Putting the tips of his fingers together, he stared at his grandson with a decreasing level of sympathy.
"Do you know what's the most interesting thing here, Ryan? I did not hear you use your usual 'I love him' argument at all here. Are the feelings you have for him still the same?"
Ryan took a deep breath.
"I love him," he said.
"And does he love you in return?"
"... Yes," the younger vampire answered, but his tone was less convincing.
