Chapter 22: The Storm
Within a matter of minutes, a host of Crasmor soldiers broke through the Avenadyn line to our left. Reserves already filled in other gaps and the horsemen struggled to keep the enemy from flanking us. Many of the archers ran out of arrows and joined the ranks.
“Now is our time,” I said and turned to my friends. “Let us show them how dangerous an enemy we can be!”
Hendron nodded his head and bashed his sword against his shield. The other warriors, all legendary fighters in their own right, steeled their nerves and awaited my command.
“Charge! Into the breach!” I signaled with a sword raised.
We sprinted towards the enemy soldiers who broke through the line. Their confidence reduced to fright the moment they realized vampires wanted their blood for more than just the usual reason.
