5 groups stood facing each other around the mysterious stone in the center of the stage. Their path to a breakthrough all depended on this moment. If they were able to dominate in their group, they would almost be guaranteed a breakthrough to Qi circulation (If they are 7th level body tempering, the pool would make them jump to quasi Qi Circulation.)

"First group, please stay on the stage. All other groups please take a seat and wait for your turn." Zhou Feng lifted his hand and a ray of light descended onto the stage and enveloped the first group. The chunk of land they were on rose to the sky and a protective array surrounded it.

Yu Ling jumped into the air and an ice thorn are out of her palm as she tried to jab it at the third cultivator in the group, Mu Shan. Mu Shan quickly responded by manifesting a wall of rock in front of himself seeming blocking Yu Ling's Jab. Unexpectedly, instead of pausing, she actually got faster and slammed the ice thorn into the wall. The Rock wall cracked and almost immediately turned into ice. She stepped back and her hands were now able to control the wall of now turned ice.

"ARGH, ROCK WORLD!" Mu Shan formed pieces of gigantic rock in the sky and smashed them into the Ice wall fragments.

"Ice Manifesto - Crystalus Spear" Yu Ling's legs spun around retreating a few steps before a huge ice crystal spear formed in her hands and she blasted back towards Mu Lan thrusting the spear forward.

Mu Lan's legs folded while he closed his eyes and the ground started to shake.

"I can't let him finish this attack." Yu Ling decisively turned back and stopped while staring at Mu Lan. "Ice Manifesto - spear decimation" A vortex appeared on the tip of the spear and a mass of powerful Qi accumulated on it. Mu Lan's eyes opened just in time but unfortunately, when he stood up, he suddenly found that his feet had been frozen and the ice was slowly traveling up his legs. His heart thumped as he realized what had just happened. The technique he was previously activating required one to move and since he was immobile. The spear rushed towards his head and right before it hit, he yelled out.

"I admit defeat"

"Very good, very good" Liu Yan, who was still standing where he was when the battle had started, looked at Yu Ling. Then he turned his head towards Yu Qingsu and smiled menacingly. "Now time to end it" He stared at Yu Ling and his eyes turned golden radiating an aura of pure power. "Pupil Art - Mind shattering" If one looked closely, they could see a strand of gold riding Liu Yan's field of vision heading towards Yu Ling's eyes, which were locked onto his.

"Great Ice Body Constitution - first stage" Her Body shook violently as a gigantic statue of ice the size of a whale erupted from within her body.

"Oh no, I told her not to use it!" Yu Qingsu's eyes were full of worry as she looked at the scene unfolding before her.

Yu Ling's eyes had been turned bright blue and her body began to levitate unconsciously. Her previous set of clothes had been replaced by a dress made of pure ice crystal and her face twitched In the sight of the immense pain. She controlled the Ice statue to stand infant of her and smash the golden strand into nothing.

"Ok then, GREAT GOLDEN DRAGON ART!" A Golden covered dragon about the same size of the ice statue roared in the sky and clashed with the Ice statue. Yu Ling spat out blood and groaned as the Ice statue began to dissipate. "This ends here!" The dragon roared once again and sped towards the direction of Yu Ling as a tear fell from her eye.

"Sorry sis, I admit defeat" Yu Ling cried out with a whimper as she fell to the floor.

"The first battle has ended, Mu Shan is ranked third, Yu Ling is ranked second, Liu Yan is ranked first. Would the second group please head onto the stage" Zhou Feng lowered his hand and the chunk of land in the sky lowered and seamlessly merged into the stage and the protective array was dismantled.

With Yu Qingsu being enraged by Liu Yan's actions, the second battle went by pretty quickly as she took out all that anger on the battle.

"Third group"

Huo Mingling, wearing a red robe with a pin on his chest that resembled a flame, stood up and headed towards the stage. Lan Du used an agility technique to appear on the stage like magic, trying to brag about his power.

"Eternal Flame embodiment" Huo Mingling's body was engulfed in orange flames which were as hot as the surface of the sun.

"Lightning devour art- Thunder chain" A bolt of lightning smashed onto the ground and turned into a silver chain rope which was grabbed by Lan Du.

"I admit defeat" The third cultivator in the group already knew his chances of going up against Huo Mingling and winning were 0 and so hoped that he might be able to defeat Lan Du. Although Lan Du was nothing compared to his brother Lan Lei, his proficiency in handling lightning was high enough to be recognized by the Lightning Devouring Faction. In all reality, If Lan Lei was able to compete, he would have most likely ended up in the top 5, but unfortunately, fate decided otherwise.

Lan Du's thunder chain rumbled as he whipped it towards Huo Mingling's fire covered body. Huo Mingling looked up at Lan Du and made not expression as he walked closer to him and grabbed the thunder chain before yanking it out of Lan Du's grasp.

"Combustion flame palm" He thrusted his palm out and the symbol for 'flame' slammed into Lan Du's body. "If I choose to, I can make your body explode now"

Lan Du began to sweat like a pig and tried to find a way out of this situation but in the end he had no other choice. "FINE FINE I ADMIT DEFEAT!"

"The third battle has ended with Huo Mingling ranked first"
