Kayla looked at her daughter's beautiful face. She was perfect, breathtaking, and very powerful. Yet the clueless expression on her face told Kayla that something was wrong. It was just a week ago that the zoo incident had occurred. Kayla had driven Cianne to New York a day later so 'The Four' could bind her abilities. But here her daughter was, and she was powerful, Kayla sensed that much.
"What else can you do?"
"What do you mean what else can I do?" Cianne asked, confused.
For whatever reason, her daughter knew nothing of what she could do. That wasn't right. "Tell me something first, how is your grandmother doing?"
"Fine, I guess," Cianne said plainly. "We don't talk really. Grandma Baxter still hasn't warmed up to me after all these years but dad says she will one day."
*Grandma Baxter. . .and not one word about the generous and powerful Vivian Harper.*
