Disowned

"Where have you been, Maze?! Do you know how much we are worried about you because you went missing for six hours?" First thing in the morning, and her father bombarded her.

Her ears ached in irritation. She has a hangover, her head and her body felt sore for her crazy actions last night.

Yes, she woke up with a stranger. They're both naked, and tired. Apparently, it made her feel fulfilled. Because she began to walk and step towards her dream.

Who would've thought, that a nineteen year old girl would like to have a baby this instant?

She did not answer her father and went inside the house as if there was no problem.

Her father chased her madly. Stopping her in the wrist harshly. His grip tightened, hurting her. But she chooses not to react.

"I am asking you!"

She sighed heavily and gazed at her father, "I went out, and slept with a guy daddy."

Her father gasped in a second, followed by the presence of her mom who gasped loudly.

"What did you say?!" This is the very first time that her father raised a voice at her. He's always been soft and daring, but now... she experienced its wrath which makes her feel important somehow.

Crazy right?

She's been in their household caging for almost a decade, nonetheless she's like a living dead.

Her parents might have showed her kindness, care and love towards her... But that doesn't steal the fact of how unsatisfying her life is. She felt lacking. Something's gone wrong and missing.

"You heard me, dad. I slept with a stranger." After saying it, a very strong slap landed on her soft cheek.

"How could you?!" Mr. Romualdez is gritting his teeth hard. Jaw tightened and his eyes is telling everyone who had seen his wrath that he's mad and disappointed with his own daughter.

"I fed you! Took care of you. We raised you well and give everything we can to offer to you, and you will tell me shits like these?!" Maze heard everything. Even though she's in pain, she tried her very best not to show any regrets and weaknesses to her dear parents.

She's strong and she believed that.

Another slap is coming, she closed her eyes tightly and wait for it to land on her skin. But a few seconds has passed by, nothing came.

She opened her eyes and there she saw her mom stopping her dad from assaulting her again.

Her parents is hurting at the sight of her.

"Maze, you can just tell us that it's an accident. We will consider it." Her mom stated. Trying to defend her.

She shook her head and at the very first time... She smiled to her parents. "I did it on purpose, mom. How could I lie when I was the one who decides to bend on our family?"

Then her dad is quick to grab her collar. Strangling her. "You little witch! You will put our family in shame!" She did not react any and let her father hurt her.

"Honey, enough! You're hurting your daughter!" Her mom tried to pull her father's hand away from her.

"I don't have a ungrateful daughter! I had given you the world, everything! And this is how you will going to repay me?!" Every words that comes out from her father left a mark on her heart. But no, she doesn't feel like going back tho.

She did this. She will be responsible for it.

"Marcus, stop it!"

"You shut up, Esmeralda!" Even her father's eyes cannot be forgotten. And finally, her father freed her, she's fallen on the floor and cough simultaneously. Catching her own breath.

Marcus pointed her with rage. "Leave my house and leave everything you had acquired from me! You will no longer have the right to bring my name! From now on, I don't have a daughter and a bastard like you I'd not deserving to be called a Romualdez!"

After saying it to her, her father walks out from her sight. She got what she wanted. Her father just disowned her and kicked her from the mansion.

Her mother joined her immediately. She did not sob, but she cried. Her mom is pleading with her to retrieve the words she said to her father and things will be back to normal again.

But she declined.

"I'm sorry, mom." A lone apology did only escape from her mouth. Her mom convinced her with anything, but her decision is final. She couldn't stay in this house anymore.

This time... She wants to leave and feel the real battle of the world.

She wants to discover if she will survive on her own.

She wants to prove that she's not just a damsel in distress. She will make them see that she can stand on her feet without being dependent to her family.

One last hug and one last kiss for a goodbye to her dearest mother, she left the house without any comment.

"Maze! Please, don't leave.." Her mom chased her towards the gate.

She shook her head and smiled to her mom. "Don't worry about me, mom. I will be well and I deserved this.. Dad's right, I'm not suitable to be called his daughter."

Her mom pulled her for a very tight embrace. "How about me? I loved you, you are my treasure. I can't live without you by my side, Maze.."

She caressed her mom's back, "It will be fine soon, Mom." telling her mom that everything will soon to be alright.

It's hard to leave. Especially seeing her mom in pain. It's heartbreaking and she never knew that it could be this painful. It was like a machine gun's bullet that shot her cold heart thoroughly.

"Here, use my card. It is my personal savings that I set aside for you. It's not much but it'll help you start a living. Use this to sustain your needs." She knows that her mom felt pity for her. That's why she's giving her money.

She declined, "No, mom. No need."

But her mom is persistent. "No! You have to survive. At least you can buy a condo of your own. You had nothing now, so just accept this. Let me worry about you, Maze. I can't calm down if you will not accept this. Just by seeing you off, torns my heart apart. I can't just let you go with no support in hand. So please, don't be hard headed and accept this."

Maze has no choice but to accept. Her mom is right, she had nothing and that she needs a starter pack to keep living.

The money, it's not that much. But it'll help her survive for two to three years. At that time span, she will use it very wisely. She doesn't mind if she will transfer to a low class University as long as she can save.

For her baby and her.

She may not be pregnant yet, but she's sure enough to believe that she will be having a baby soon.

That stranger... He filled her enough seeds to create a life inside her tummy. And that baby will inspire her to keep living. She couldn't wait, she's very excited to have him or her in her life.

She took the bank card and left. She hail a cab and asked it to drive somewhere far, far from her family and to the people who knows about her.

From smooth road of her life, she stepped down and take the rough road instead. To test her capability and bravery.

It may be hard soon, but she believes... No problems could kill a person who's eager to conquer every bit of it.

In a very small town from the north, Maze choose to live. She brought a house and lot for her to rest. A bungalow house to be exact. It's not that cozy like her recent home, but it's enough for her.

This town has complete amenities for people's needs.

Hospital, health center, municipality, a baranggay, market and many more.

What's good to it, is that... Her home is located in a mountainous town. She has the fresh air to breath, and a very good looking scenery to see.

As she stood up in her little terrace on the second floor of her house, she caressed her stomach. Hoping for the baby to come sooner.

"Come to mommy, my baby. Even if you will not having a father by your side. I will be here for you. I will take care of you, I will love you and will do everything for you to be happy. This place is very suitable for us. No one will hurt us here. The place is relaxing and stress free from the very cruel society. I couldn't wait to have you, baby. Please don't disappoint me and joined me here. It's you I only hope for. Fill my dream, please."

For this time on, she promised to herself that she will be happy on her own. No more princess in distressed.

She will live according to her own typical life, with her soon to be baby.
