Gabby's POV

The house was big, for sure but there was something about it that I just couldn't grasp, like it was haunted.

I do not believe in ghosts so I did not really put my mind to it. I figured that there would be a hidden reason why they would sell the huge house at such a cheap rate. It had furnitures and all the suitable equipments, and Larry found a bunch of clothes in the closet of his bedroom.

I brushed the thought that something might be wrong with the house and instead I looked at the positive side, maybe it was my imposter syndrome fighting against me because finally something good had happened to me.

Four of my brothers were asleep and I decided to walk around the house to make sure the windows and doors were all locked, that was when I stumbled upon the dark stain on the kitchen wall.

My eyebrows shot together in confusion, I went to fetch the flashlight from my room and I returned back quietly to the spot, I gasped when I pointed the flash light at the stain.

It was blood, dried blood.

There was a loud noise outside, I trembled and my flashlight flew to the window, slowly I walked to the window and put the flashlight so I could see outside.

"Maybe it's just a racoon." I said to myself trying to distill my fear.

Suddenly there was a swift movement, my flashlight had caught it but I couldn't see anything.

I stood still trying to see anything out of the ordinary, any motion and finally there was something hiding in the shadow. My blood felt like cotton, I was struck with fear.

I moved my flashlight to the spot and I went into shock when the light fell upon a very big and muscular wolf, it was about ten feets long... It was no ordinary wolf. It was staring straight at me, it's teeth's were displayed in a menacing smile.

I stepped away from the window and I ran to my bedroom, I locked the door and I jumped to the bed, I covered my whole body with the blanket including my face.

I heard knocking from the front door. It was one AM and a werewolf was knocking on my door.

Kaya's POV

Through out the day I just couldn't stop thinking about what happened in the morning. I just couldn't look at Lycan the same way again. Elvis was right, Lycan didn't care about me the way I needed, but he cared about me the way I wanted.

What I need is a man that I can trust, a man that hasn't been with so many women.

It was crazy because a lot of heartbreak would be spared if people could differentiate love from lust or even infatuation.

Lycan did not leave to work because he wanted to stay with me, he did not trust that I would be in the house when he got back.

I wasn't even his girlfriend yet, wasn't that supposed to be a sign, a red flag?.

I looked at the time on the bedside table, the LED showed 12:43 AM.

Lycan's hands were wrapped tightly on my waist, I could barely even breathe and under the lamp was the address of Mrs Rollins, Lycan's mother. I had asked Trevor to give me the address, he didn't know why I asked for it, he probably thought Lycan knew.

I reached for the lamp and I took out the card, carefully I undid Lycan's hands and I gently climbed off from the bed, immediately his hands started searching for me, I ran to the bed and he opened his eyes slightly. His arms wrapped around me this time tighter than the first time.

After a moment he fell back to sleep, I took the chance and I stood from the bed again. I ran out of the bedroom and I went downstairs. I jumped into my car and I drove into the night.

I had just one favour from her, at least Lycan shouldn't be able to find me this time. I reached the address and I wasn't surprised when I saw that the building was a mansion.

The security let me pass without asking any questions, it was really weird.

"We can smell Lycan on you." One of them mumbled when I asked.

What did that even mean?.

I drove inside and I found out that the door was unlocked, when I walked in Mrs Rollins was sitting on a very big arm chair.

"Kaya, was a pleasant surprise." She greeted.

"Hi... I'm here because uhm..." I started saying trying to find the right words.

"You caught Lycan cheating?." She asked me.

I froze.

"No." I told her.

"Well, it would not take long. He likes to have several mistresses." She told me indifferently.

" Well, that's part of why I'm here. Twice two different ladies have accused me of stealing their boyfriend... It's embarrassing and it makes me feel stupid." I admitted.

" Two?... Well he's doing a great job by hiding them." She said.

My legs felt weak and I sat down.

" I want to leave him. I love him, this would break me but he's too much for me, he's like the manifestation of a dream I had, he's wealthy, he's overprotective, strong, funny, handsome and badass, he's also too violent, he's extremely dangerous and he has a temper, I didn't really sign up for that." I told her.

" And he always finds you, doesn't?." She asked me.

"Exactly." I admitted.

"I can help with that, it would be my pleasure. Thank you very much Kaya, you don't know what you've done but you have saved an entire race... You've saved the world in fact." She said and she stood up and went to the corner of her enormous living room and brought a black wooden box.

From the box she brought a big glass bottle.

"What's that?." I asked her.

"You don't need to know my dear, Take just three drops at night and the effects would last for a week. There are no side effects, today would be the last day you ever see Lycan, he would never be able to find you." She said to me with a wide grin.
