"A bridge like this is normally created when two souls resonates at the same frequency, and is normally destroyed when their souls stop resonating. But…"
"But?"
"But in this case I did not change the frequency of my soul to initiate a telepathic contact, so that means I can't leave this bridge."
"So does that mean we're stuck here?"
"We? Aren't you the one who initially this telepathic contact, all you need to do is to reverse the frequency of your soul and the brigde will naturally collapse." Apeiron said exasperated.
"How many times do I have to tell you, I didn't bring you here!" Ace said frustration creeping into his voice.
"Then… could it be , a natural soul resonance, NO! it can't be the structure of my soul makes it impossible for that to happen, but if it isn't that then what is it."Apeiron muttered, his voice so light Ace couldn't hear.
"So since neither of us initiated this telephatic contact does that mean we're stuck here?"
Ace spoke, snapping Apeiron out his thoughts.
Apeiron replied in annoyance. "No, we aren't stuck here. There are multiple methods that can destroy a bridge."
Ace raised a brow.
"Then why aren't you using them?"
"Because they all have a certain amount of risk to them, ranging from soul damage to memory loss."
"Anything is better than being stuck here forever, no?"
"I know, I'm just thinking about which one to use."
They both stayed silent for a while, Ace looking around the room and Apeiron figuring a way out of the bridge.
"Apeiron." Ace called out.
"Yeah?"
"Don't pick a method that causes soul damage."
"Why? Is your soul too fragile to sustain any damage." Apeiron said, A dangerous glint flashing in his eyes.
Ace put up a stern front staring Apeiron right in the eye.
"Don't try to pull anything funny, the academy will expell you if you kill me." Ace said, his tone grim.
"Haha, don't be so uptight, why would I kill you?"
Although Apeiron reassured Ace, he still did not feel at ease, Ace was sure he felt a genuine killing intent from Apeiron earlier.
This made him more wary of Apeiron and everything he had said, for all Ace knew, everything Apeiron had said might have all been lies.
"Go on figuring the right method or whatever, I'm going off to explore the dreamscape."
"Why would you want to explore the bridge? This place is just the same thing you would see in a dream, there's nothing special about it." Apeiron asked in confusion.
"I don't know what dreams you've been having, I've never seen something like this in my dreams."
Apeiron shrugged. "You do you, I'll be here preparing the tools for the ritual."
Leaving Apeiron to do whatever he was doing, Ace walked out of the classroom.
"Woah, it really is just like the real world." Ace exclaimed, as he walked across the school halls.
The halls of the school seemed eerie and strangely barren, the only thing that were on those corridors were Ace and the peculiar shadows cast by the schools pillars.
'It seems that the only place where people are, is inside the classroom.' Ace noticed.
Despite the strangeness of that fact, he continued walking through the school corridors hoping to get far away from Apeiron for what he was about to do.
Ace waked out of the school building only to be greeted with a marvellous sight.
A giant asteroid about the size of the sun was floating in the night sky, replacing the moon and many stars.
A number of rock fragments could be seen escaping the asteroid, emmiting a ghostly green glow as they drifted against the starry night sky.
The paths the asteroids took looked particularly beautiful on par with the once in a century meteor shower from Ace's original hometown.
"How beautiful!" Ace marvelled as he gazed upon the heavenly sight before him.
"I wonder how this would compare with the scenery inside my core,"
That fleeting thought crossed Ace's mind before he quickly dismissed it.
This definitely took the cake, the slight purple twinkle from the many stars in the sky, the fine meteor shards that drifted in the night sky; making a trail of green dust sparkle in the night sky, the exquisite patterns of stars in the sky, It was all amazing, It was like the sky was a canvas and some god had painted a masterpiece on it, with every square inch, rich with carefully considered details.
"Aaargh! What am I doing?! I didn't come out here for sightseeing."
That was true Ace did not come here for sightseeing, he came here so he could get far away from Apeiron.
He did not feel at ease putting his fate in Apeiron's hands, I mean look at that guy and tell me everything about him doesn't scream evil, his sickly pale face, his ominous shadows or even his deep black robes.
They say don't judge a book by it's cover but Ace would be a fool to trust a guy like that to have his back, especially at a time like this; when he was temporarily weakened by his soul injury.
So that was why Ace was here; to take precautionary methods against Apeiron.
