Chapter 43: What Would You Be Without Any Feelings?
Matthew took a deep breath. The man’s rusty voice was ringing in his mind. “Everything,” he said. He wanted to know everything about Matthew.
The man spoke again. “How does it feel… To talk so… Smoothly?”
It wasn’t what Matthew was expecting. He then realized that the man was envying him. Maybe all of them were.
“It feels comfortable,” said Matthew after a bit of thinking.
“I've never talked to someone of your kind before,” the man said while taking breaks between his words. “I'd like to know how you can feel so many things.”
“We are human. We are made out of dozens of feelings,” Matthew decided that being honest would be the best thing to do. The man chose him for talking and that should've meant something.
“We forgot about them,” the man looked away as if he was really trying to remember when was the last time his kind actually felt something. “We are numb.”
Matthew thought about Ava. She was able to have feelings, and she made Matthew feel, too.
