Gars healed Radford and took him to the office for using [Halo], leaving Vivian to manage her fellow recruits with their mock battle training.
Since they were now down to 17 and Vivian was too overpowered for the rest of the recruits, she didn't participate in the mock battle training and decided to watch on the side. Meanwhile, Uliah trained with Radford's sparring partner.
However, given what just happened and without Gars around, not everyone was enthusiastically training. But they still showed an acceptable performance.
15 minutes later…
Everyone was now either tired or had run out of mana, or both.
Uliah, who was covered in sweat, went over to Vivian's side.
Unlike earlier, she was now only carrying a sword.
Pah!
"Sister Platoon Leader!" she said and slapped Vivian's back.
"Ouch…" said Vivian.
"That's for kicking me earlier!" she replied and grinned.
"Oh… Sorry about that."
"So Sister Platoon Leader, it's true after all, huh."
"Hmm?"
"That you're a future administrator, you have 4 Magic Art Affinities, and your Physical Force is Adamantite and Magic Force is Orichalcum-Adamantite."
Vivian knitted her brows and didn't say anything.
Uliah raised her hands.
"I just heard about it from Sister Sally and Sister Diane."
Sally and Diane…?
Vivian recalled the registration incident.
Now that I think about it...
After Kara left and it was my turn to register, it was Sally and Diane who were behind me…
"When I first heard it from them, I refused to believe it. But now that I've seen you in action, you really were kissed by the Elemental Gods!" said Uliah.
"I just got lucky."
"Right~ But seriously, why?"
"Why what?"
"Why would a person like you want to be an administrator? If I had your Affinities and brains, I would definitely aim to be a Gray Cloak."
"I'm a pacifist, not a fighter."
"But if you become an administrator, you would on spend most of your days signing papers at the office instead of going out and exploring the world and gaining more power -- Actual power, okay? On top of that, I won't be surprised if end up being a Cardinal in the future."
Cardinal…?
What's that…?
"Like I said, I'm a pacifist. I just want to spend my life in peace, not war."
"But I don't think the Temple would agree to that. Just with your Affinities alone, even our esteemed Temple of Priests would no doubt treasure and use a member like you."
Huh…?
What is this woman saying…?
"Well, I guess they already are. The fact that they gave you that medal and letter is proof."
Did I make a mistake in revealing a bit of my power…?
But then again, how was I going to cover my Physical and Magic Force…?
It's not like I can't fake it…
I even asked at the Blacksmith Shop back in Luxen if there was a way…
Uliah let out a sigh.
"And here I thought the only people I have to worry about in our class were Zean and Turd. Even Radford if we don't count brains. But hey, if you're really a pacifist, then I guess it's fine in a way."
"They're strong?" asked Vivian.
Uliah stared at Vivian with a deadpan expression for a moment before letting out a sigh.
"Just so you know, they all have 3 Affinities like me. We just weren't able to showcase our true strength from fighting you."
"Oh…"
"I guess that's a natural reaction from your perspective," Uliah said and waved her hand unenthusiastically. "But just because I don't have the Light Affinity like everyone here, that doesn't mean I'll give up!"
Vivian recalled that people who didn't have the Light Affinity must at least have 3 Magic Art Affinities in order to join the Temple of Priests.
But what if someone has [False Light Mastery]…?
Or one of their Affinities is a False one…?
What happens then…?
"I see. I wish you all the luck and blessings in the world, sister. I know you won't lose," Vivian said and smiled.
"Of course! But Sister Platoon Leader, I feel bad for you. You must have a lot of suitors wanting to marry you, right? I even suspect that some of the boys here have a crush on you," she said and grinned.
Vivian rolled her eyes.
"I'm not that beautiful."
A serious expression appeared on Uliah's face.
"But even without your brains and beauty, the fact that you have 4 Affinities, anyone would want to have a talented offspring with you. And even if you're already married and have kids or old, there would still be a lot of people who would still try to kidnap you in order to produce offsprings with you or kidnap your children."
"What?!" Vivian shouted, causing everyone around to stop and turn to her.
She quickly cleared her throat in embarrassment.
"What?" she asked softly.
"You don't have that problem? Even I had offers and attempts. This is why I joined the Temple of Priests to get them off my back."
Vivian's eyes blinked a couple of times.
"Threatening and pulverizing them wasn't enough," said Uliah. "Now I only have to deal with our fellow brothers. But hey, at least here we can file a sexual harassment case and it will be dealt with right away. Am I right?"
Vivian didn't know what to say.
Did I just put myself into another problem by saying that I have 4 Magic Art Affinities…?
An idea suddenly popped inside Vivian's head and grabbed Uliah's arm, surprising Uliah.
"Huh?"
"Tell me, how many people know that I have 4 Affinities?"
"Huh? Um… Everyone here…?"
Vivian's face turned pale as she let go of Uliah.
She looked at everyone who already stopped training and were looking at her and Uliah.
Even if I issued a gag order to these people, it still would come out…
And they've probably talked to other people as well…
There's also the officers during the registration…
She placed a hand on her chest.
"Sister Platoon Leader, are you okay?" Uliah asked with a worried and concerned look.
Ugh…!
My heart…!
My sweet heart…!
I made myself to be viewed as a baby factory…!
Gars returned but Radford wasn't with him.
"Attention!"
Everyone rushed and stood in attention in front of him.
"It's 9:00 a.m. You're free to train your Magic Arts over there," he said and pointed at a series of rooms located at the side of the gym. "You're also free to continue training here, but don't disrupt the other classes."
Just as he said that, another class entered the gym.
"I'll see you again at 1:00 p.m. for the next class. Dismiss," he said and then left.
Everyone relaxed after that.
Vivian, on the other hand, was still trying to recover from what Uliah told her.
"Sister Platoon Leader…?" Kara asked in a small voice.
Vivian slowly turned her head to her and didn't say anything.
"I'm sorry about earlier… I didn't mean to look at you like that… I hope you will forgive me…" said Kara.
"Huh?" Vivian replied absently.
"I'm really, really sorry… I just didn't expect that you were that powerful…"
Kara's words finally registered inside Vivian's mind.
"Oh, that one. It's no big deal. You'll eventually catch up to my level one day," Vivian said and flashed a warm and sweet smile.
Kara's eyes blinked a couple of times before she finally answered.
"Okay… And thank you, Sister Platoon Leader!" she said and bowed.
"By the way, you're not going to change your shirt?"
Thanks to Vivian's [Wind Arrow] earlier which shot through Kara's body, there was a hole on her shirt. It wasn't a large hole because it was only a [Wind Arrow]. But it did show a tiny bit of her skin. And combined with her sweat and beautiful face, it was a bit too sexy.
Kara blushed and cast her gaze down as she tried to cover the hole on her shirt with her hand.
"I… I wasn't able to change because I was afraid Brother High Lieutenant might scold me…"
Vivian lowered her head.
"I'm very sorry, sister. I really shouldn't have used [Wind Arrow] on you."
"As long as we're friends again, sister."
"Of course!"
A bright smile appeared on Kara's face.
"Sister Platoon Leader!" called Uliah.
When Vivian turned to her she noticed Sally and Diane with her.
"These sisters of ours want to apologize," Uliah said and grinned.
Sally and Diane stepped forward and lowered their heads.
"Please forgive us, Sister Platoon Leader Vivian! We didn't mean to cause any harm to you when we told people that you have 4 Affinities and were a future administrator!"
Vivian scratched her head.
"What's done is done. And plus, even if you didn't tell anyone about it, it would still eventually be discovered. Just be mindful about gossiping next time."
The 2 women lowered their heads even deeper.
"We promise, Sister Platoon Leader!"
It was then another person stepped in.
"Excuse me, Sister Platoon Leader."
Vivian turned her head and saw that it was Zean.
"My apologies if it took this long, but I don't think we've been properly introduced. I'm Zean Castiron from the same Chapter Temple as you."
"Huh? Are you saying that Sister Platoon Leader is a snob back at Luxen that she doesn't recognize her fellow Chapter brothers and sisters? Or are you the snob and thought that Sister Platoon Leader was just a normal Priestess?" said Uliah.
Vivian wanted to facepalm but stopped herself. Zean, on the other hand, just let out a wry smile.
"It hasn't been a month since I joined the Temple of Priests and I've always been busy training on my own and doing Holy Missions," Vivian explained to everyone.
"It's true," said Zean. "I'm always at the Training Grounds training. But the only time I saw Sister Platoon Leader Vivian was when she had her [Fire] and [Wind Mastery] Awakening Ceremony there which I even participated in. But after that, I never saw her until the day when we left Luxen City."
Truth be told, this is why the new recruits, especially the men from the Luxen Chapter Temple, were wary of approaching Vivian.
Aside from being a beauty, unlike all of them, they more or less all knew each other because they'd been part of the Temple longer, spent time training at the Training Grounds, and even participated in the monthly Ranking Match.
They didn't even notice Vivian at the Ranking Match.
After witnessing her performance now, they knew that if she participated, she would've swept everyone out of the match and Zean wouldn't be the champion.
Some of them were even offended at first when Vivian, a complete stranger, was chosen to be the leader of their class because many were expecting it to be Zean.
"You were there are the Awakening Ceremony? Thank you, brother!" Vivian said and bowed.
"I was there too," a male voice said.
It was Crew.
"Me too, but I didn't participate because I didn't have [Fire] and [Wind Mastery]…" another male voice said.
It was a man named Earl.
To be specific, out of the 18 new recruits, 7 were from the Luxen Chapter Temple and they Vivian, Kara, Samantha, Zean, Crew, Earl and another man called Jeston. Meanwhile, the rest were from the Heisen Chapter Temple.
Vivian turned to them.
"Thank you, brothers!" she said and smiled.
"What's going on here?" some of the men from the Heisen Chapter butted in.
However, Uliah cut everyone off.
"Let's do our introductions later tonight. For now, let's train or Brother High Lieutenant might ground us and we won't be able to go out tonight," said Uliah.
Vivian recalled one of the rules here in the Training Camp -- recruits are allowed to go out in the city on the evening of the day of Satur.
"Sister Uliah is right," said Vivian.
Given that her blood has now returned to red, she didn't mind using the public Magic Art training rooms already.
I just hope that it's private so that I can use [Greater Origin Enchant]…
