4. Creation Time

Alan started with the cleric and took his time and checked and double checked everything just like he did every time he created a new character. The sheet already had the bonus points in the skill portion based on their agreement earlier. He even took the time to write a couple of the craft and profession skills and they updated automatically as well. This was easier than writing it all out himself since every feat he picked updated everything without him having to do anything. This would ensure that he did not forget about something later on since he had done that several times with other characters.

Since he did not get tired or hungry he just kept working away and taking all the time he needed. He was not sure how long it had been but he finally pushed the first character sheet to the side and picked up the next one. "Alan before you get started on the next one I thought it was time to deal with your body in the last world."

"Oh I guess I forgot about that. Go ahead and pull the plug."

"Did you want to hear anything that your loved ones have said while you were there?"

"No need. I know most of their feelings since I do not have a lot of people in my circle that hide their feelings. Even my ex still loved me when she left, she just hated the obsession. Can't really blame her for that. Honestly, I would be surprised if more than one or two people showed up. I kept a small circle."

The being looked at him and almost laughed. He had in fact had three visitors and his ex-wife had said those words almost like he was quoting her. "Okay then." He closed his eyes and that was that. Alan never felt a thing and with a shake of his head he went to the second sheet.

Alan did the sorcerer next since there were some many spells and things to go through. He had to determine if he was going to specialize or if he might need to add a feat or something early to get what he wanted later. He was not sure but it seemed that had taken a lot longer for the mage than the healer. Given they both used spells he was a little surprised. "Sir, did this on take longer than the last one?"

"Half again. The first one took roughly a day on earth and this one took a day and a half. Honestly if I had known it would take you this long to create everything I would have brought you straight here and built the world whole you did this part."

"Well this is me actually determining and planning the rest of my life so the little things matter."

"You are correct and I am not rushing you I just did not manage my time very well. An observation and nothing more."

"I do apologize. If we had spoken before and made the decision to go back you might have saved yourself even more time."

"I was fairly confident that this was going to be your choice. It is not everyday that an author who created an entire world would get the opportunity to live in it and honestly I am not sure any of them could have turned it down."

Alan gave him a sad smile. "If I had not have lost her we would not be having this conversation. Of course the books would not be their either."

The being looked like he wanted to comfort Alan but Alan was not having it and he pulled the rogue character sheet towards him. This one was going to take a while mainly based on the huge number of skills and skill points at his disposal. And he even looked at playing the rogue as more of a playboy or even a spy by putting his highest stats in his looks.

He got to thinking about it and making the same comparison that is used for other abilities, ten would make him average, a twelve would make him handsome, a fourteen would make him a model and a sixteen would put him at supermodel looks. He was not sure what an eighteen would compare too but he has a feeling that he could talk just about anyone into doing what he wanted. And with that thought in mind he held out his hand and created a second rogue character sheet. He was sure that even though he was working on them at the same time it took him three times as long as the first one.

Alan shoved the two of them back and pulled the ranger towards him. He also pulled the extra sheet from the back and started thinking about what animal he would want as his companion as well as what his first favored enemy would be, this would shape all of his skills and feats before he even got started. He had not even put a mark on the paper when he turned to the being across from him.

"Where in my world will I be starting?"

"Why does that matter?"

"I am building my ranger and I need to know what area so I know what enemies there are to deal with. If I say wolves and am at the bottom of the world where there is almost no change of encountering a wolf then I wasted the ability."

"That makes sense. Well where would you like to start out?"

"Oh one more thing, where am I time wise in regards to my books? A lot of things happening at different times and I don't want to be a main I still need to be able to help out."

"Okay then. Right now you will be around the same time as Ckajerie and Mastigar."

"Then that means I would want the northwest. Yeah that sounds about right. I will start up there if that is okay with you."

"I see no reason not to. Sounds like as good an area as any. That also means I will start fine tuning that area first."

Alan thought about the area that he would start and given the area he went with animals as his favored enemy and he was also leaning towards a wolf for his companion but he was also debating on stalling a little bit and getting a bear. The wolf had speed but the bear had strength and endurance. Since he was this far he decided that he would out that off until the final thing. Now he had to chose a fighting style. Rangers could be so complicated to build but easy to play. That was why it was almost always his go to character for a short campaign.

After everything was all done with the character Alan reached for the animal companion sheet and tried to write on it. The pen he was using would not make a mark at all. He shook the pen and tried again but still nothing. He was about to ask when he heard a weird noise and a notification popped up in front of him.

(Character class ranger cannot get a companion until level 4)

Alan jerked his head back a little in surprise. That was an interesting development. "You could have warned me about a system interface."

"Oh good, it finally finished and seems to be working properly. I did not think it would be ready yet."

"So that is the system that will keep everything in line for me. Not bad, I mean it will take some getting used to but not the worst design out there."

"It will also lean and grow with you. It is a low grade AI system that will streamline things. It will also take into account synergies and things."

"That is truly outstanding. Will it have multiple interfaces for different things?"

"Once you pick your character, it will upload everything and from then it will assist you in your leveling up and things of that nature."

"Okay then, since I can't do an animal companion I will leave the ranger as is and move on to the fighter. This is going to get really complicated with the feats, especially with the extra one for the trade."

"Have you not been using it?"

"Oh I have but a human fighter gets the extras plus yours and that will be the base for my character and how I create him. I know I am going with a strength based fighter and not dex based so that will limit a few of the feats. But other than that I am not sure."

Alan quickly assigned the ability points and found that all the basic information was filled in already for a fighter at third level. With a smile he ignored the skills and went straight to the feats. He had six of them because of his choices and these were more important than anything right now.

Even though the fighter was the easiest in regards to ability points once a player decided on a strength based versus a dexterity based fighter Alan spent almost as long on this one as his two types of rogues. He looked at more combinations of feats than ever before and he even took into consideration prestige classes for later in life. After his forth piece of scrap paper the picture that he wanted popped into his head and he went to work.

Alan out the pen down and pushed back from the table and looked over his creations. Now all he had to do was make up his mind.
