The next morning, Alex woke up feeling restless, the threatening messages from the unknown caller still echoing in his mind. 

"Dam it... That bastard was still lurking around somewhere, and he wouldn't stop pestering me until he had gotten what he wanted.

Although he wouldn't tell me outright what he wanted, it's obvious that he wants my money... I mean what else would he want?" Alex said to himself. "If it was just about me, I would have carried out a full investigation... but right now, I have to play according to his terms because I don't want him to send that picture to my family.

If my family figured out that I bought Sophia from an auction home, they would surely have her thrown out, and there would be nothing I would be able to do about it."

He glanced at Sophia, still sleeping peacefully beside him, her gentle breathing a stark contrast to the turmoil brewing inside him.
