"What do you want of me? I already gave you everything!" An ethereal voice said, pleading, after Ethan White focused on one of the purple orbs in his room, his breathing coming to a halt.

Tears were falling from his eyes, a mesmerizing look on his face. The two blazing golden suns in his eyes turned black, the insides of the new black stars showing a small purple light in the center.

After a few seconds, his breathing resumed, and Ethan White got conscious again. His eyes turned back to a golden color, with no hints of the purple light which was there before.

He gazed around his room, and the sight shocked him. His room was as normal as always, the sunlight coming from the window lighting up the cleaned floor and the expensive furniture.

It was as if these purple balls of light that Ethan White noticed before did not even exist in the first place.

Ethan White's mind was a mess, thinking again and all over again about what he saw, but he could not understand the situation. What were the purple orbs of light? Why were these in his room? What happened when he touched one of them?

He only could remember hearing a voice, and then time stopped. After regaining his awareness, he found himself crying and with no traces of the purple orbs in his room.

Ethan White was reminded of the first time he was absorbing a Heart Core and he heard a cry when he was finishing the absorption process, but this time was different. He could see, hear, and feel things he could not understand at all.

To Ethan White, it was a bigger issue than just being able to talk with the previous owner of the Heart Core. He doubted that what he saw was the owner of the purple Heart Core he had in his hands.

At this moment, Ethan White just remembered that he was in the process of absorbing a Heart Core when all this happened. But a more urgent thought got into his mind, ignoring his previous one.

The Heart Core he was absorbing had a purple light. Perhaps there was a relation between the phenomenon and the Heart Core!

Ethan White moved his head so quickly that he almost twisted his neck. Gazing at his hands with wide crazy eyes, his golden iris trembled.

Between his hands was nothing at all, as if the Heart Core he was absorbing never existed in the first place.

Nevertheless, what was even more shocking was the state of his hands. His hands were a bloody mess. The flesh was completely ripped apart, showing the white bones underneath. A sizable amount of blood was dripping constantly into his bed.

His face turned white, a slight dizzy feeling overcoming his senses.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH." Ethan White screamed in pain and fell unconscious.

"Chirp chirp" A flock of birds happily chirped outside, some birds fighting and some birds playing around.

It was the sight outside the window of a blue squared room. It was a hospital room for patients. A young man was lying in a comfortable bed in its center, unconscious and bandaged all over his body.

"Thank you, doctor...! Thank you very much for saving my child...!" A woman said loudly while crying, her eyes red from crying.

She was next to the bed, her body all curved down. The reason she did not fall to the floor even after crying so much was because of the muscular and wide man on her side, supporting her.

"Fortunately, your son was brought to us quickly, or just a blood transfusion would not have been enough." A very serious middle-aged man said, facing her, hints of oldness in his face. One could see even some white hair in his tinted black hair.

After hearing this, the woman turned to look at the burly man on her side, her eyes giving an appreciative look to him. But it was not the only feeling she was showing, a flirtatious light lighting up inside.

"How are his hands, doctor? Will he recover the mobility in his hands?" The woman asked, signs of her mood getting better already being visible.

"The state of his hands is very worrisome. We could stop the bleeding in the previous surgery, but we will need more time and effort to make your son's hands work again."

While the doctor apologized, the eyes of the woman turned colder for a brief moment before going back to the vulnerable and warm ones she usually uses.

"How many more surgeries will my child need, doctor?" The woman asked, feigning desperation.

"We are doing everything we can, Mrs. White."

A week later.

Some noises were heard in the room belonging to Loren White. The sound of a bed being overused and cries of pleasure became frequent since Ethan White was hospitalized.

If Ethan White was here, he could identify one of the voices belonging to his bodyguard, while the other voice was very similar to the one his mother had.

After a few minutes, the doors of the bedroom opened and the muscular bodyguard walked out of the room. He was only wearing his underwear, sweating all around his body.

"Prepare yourself for round two in half an hour, my hero~" A coquettish voice belonging to Loren White was heard from inside the room.

The bodyguard smirked after hearing the fierce but sexy woman saying that. He knew that she did not really care about her son's well-being.

This was only another of her excuses to use the bed. He became used to how Loren White behaved.

He was aware that she wanted Ethan White to inherit the company, and for this reason, he needed to be alive. But this was her wish before the Stellar Age.

After the Stellar Age came, methods to widen the lifespan were discovered. Loren White, as the CEO of a famous and powerful company, of course, had ways to increase her lifespan with little effort.

At this point, Eric, the bodyguard, believed Ethan White's life to be useless. He will not inherit the company in the future, therefore, there was not anything his life could offer to his mother.

Eric knew her pretty well, and he would not be surprised even if she killed her own son now that he had become an Ascended.
