Chapter 487: Grant Ward's Mission

Grant Ward had already received a notification from Hydra, instructing him to prepare to become a supervising agent for a ninja, essentially becoming a mentor for this new recruit.

Meeting Nick Fury's gaze, Grant Ward's expression remained steadfast.

"Agent Coulson recommended you for this mission, but Agent Hill believes you're not suitable for it," Nick Fury continued.

At this point, Nick Fury paused again, looking at Grant Ward.

Seeing the serious expression on Grant Ward's face, Nick Fury smiled. "Don't you want to know more about the mission first?"

Grant Ward remained serious as he replied earnestly, "When the mission is assigned to me, I will naturally understand it."

"If it's not my mission, according to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s regulations, I don't need to know about it."

Hearing Grant Ward's response, Nick Fury nodded inwardly. What he needed was an agent who would strictly adhere to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s regulations.

He needed to instill in Kabuto a sense that S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were highly respected and followed the organization's rules.

"Very well. Despite objections, I've decided to entrust this mission to you. I hope you won't disappoint me," Nick Fury said, taking out a file from his desk—it was Kabuto's record, containing the latest information.

Grant Ward received a record from Nick Fury, which contained information about his target for this mission.

Opening the file, Grant Ward read the details: Kabuto, a wandering ninja, with the rank of Genin and a Chakra Detection Test grade of D.

Apart from that, there was a brief report on Kabuto's combat with Barton and the information revealed during the battle.

Given the scarcity of information on Kabuto, Nick Fury explained, "Kabuto is a new field agent we've recruited into S.H.I.E.L.D. According to S.H.I.E.L.D. protocol, new field agents require supervision to guide them through their initial training period."

"You'll be responsible for helping him understand the rules and regulations of S.H.I.E.L.D. field agents, as well as what to pay attention to during missions."

"This task is now assigned to you."

True to what the organization had told him, Grant Ward responded firmly, "I'll ensure the mission's completion!"

Nick Fury nodded and continued, "Your task is not only to be his guide and help him understand the rules of S.H.I.E.L.D. field agents."

It was already evening, and the sunset cast a beautiful glow across the sky.

Parking his car at the entrance of the Charles Agency, Coulson carried two briefcases and entered the building.

As he entered, he headed straight to the reception desk.

Upon seeing Coulson, the receptionist, Selene, greeted him, "Welcome, Agent Coulson. What kind of mission are you here to entrust this time?"

As she spoke, Selene glanced at the boxes Coulson was carrying.

Coulson looked at Selene, the receptionist, knowing that S.H.I.E.L.D. had investigated her, but her identity remained a mystery.

But one thing was certain—she wasn't a ninja or one of the werewolves who had allied with Charles. S.H.I.E.L.D. was curious about her identity.

"I need to make a mission request. Could you please notify Charles Doyle?" Coulson asked.

Selene shook her head, "Agent Coulson, Lord Charles is not in the Agency right now. I can arrange for another ninja to handle your mission confirmation."

Coulson had no objections to another ninja handling the task.

"Thank you, then!" Coulson replied.

Selene turned to Michael beside her and said, "Michael, please take this gentleman to the meeting room for a moment!"
