Star Crest Academy

A few weeks later. Seyric lined up from the crowd as children touched the Crystal Orb bit by bit.

"Alright, next." The Teacher announced as the student moved away from the orb.

Another student placed his hand as it shined in vibrant green as the mist from the orb rotated in motion.

"You have a Wind Elemental Core. Next," The Teacher gestured his hands away as the student walked out.

As many students placed their hands on orbs, the orb shined from many various colors. Many were able to show Red in the cause of Fire Elemental Core.

Only a few people could have Lighting Elemental Core and the Light Elemental Core.

Seyric only silently watched as the line moved until he finally stood at the platform as faced the Teacher's gaze.

The Teacher gestured his hands over the orb. "Please put your hands over the Crystal Orb so we can able to determine your Elemental Core."

Seyric raised his hands as he stared at his palms for a moment. His muscle tensed up as numbness eloped him, as his pupils vibrated.

The Teacher stared at him for a second, and he added. "You don't need to hesitate. You don't need power to add from it, it'll automatically shows what your Elemental Core is."

Without a second thought, Seyric's shaken hands immediately touched the orb as it lit. Except for the usual vibrant color-the sphere lit up, it barely shined in pale appeal in color.

The color was a combination of pale white and black as it rotated around constantly. It flickered an ash-gray color before it couldn't make a single color for an extended period.

The Teacher drew his brows together as he faced Seyric, 'I haven't encountered anything this peculiar before… I couldn't even tell what kind of Elemental Core he has…'-and shrugged his shoulders-'I should ask the higher-ups about this.'

"Okay… You go ahead now." He spewed before he gestured his hands.

Seyric squinted his eyes as he slid away from the platform. As he scouted his eyes from the crowd as they joined over their turns. He sighed, bit his lips, and waited for a long time.

Until the last child finally left the platform,

The Teacher surveyed his eyes among the crowd before his eyes accidentally landed in Seyric's direction for a second.

He gazed away as he opened his hands, "I welcome you to Star Crest Academy. Please be mindful, youngsters. We extremely prohibit you to use magic to other fellow students unless given permission or it is a battle competition."

The crowd of kids chattered upon his statement as they exchanged glances. The others gleamed in excitement as some turned pale even from the thought of the 'Battle Competition.'

"Silence!" The Teacher glared at the crowd.

The crowd broke in silence and focused on the Teacher who stood by the platform.

He sighed as he shook his head. "Furthermore, anything who go against the rules will receive a punishment, at least expect that to happen-we also don't tolerate those who picked on other weak students. Thus, it may result over a week time out and may get expelled from the Star Crest Academy."

He then raised his brows and surveyed the crowd, "Any questions?"

One student raised his hand.

"Yes?"

"Sir, what is the battle competition and when will it happen?"

The Teacher cleared his throat as he raised his chin. "The Battle Competition over the course of a year. By first week of Spring, it will be held and every students are required to participate. Battle Competition's purpose is to see who's been working hard over the year so all you must not forget to take notes of the following lessons."

As the announcement ended, the students departed as they scouted over the place. After they find their names, they are instructed to go home and return tomorrow morning.

The student checked billboards plastered over the walls and scanned for their names.

As for Seyric managed to immediately find his name on the Class 1-A billboards. As he stormed off the campus, he marched out of the gate and was greeted by his mother's hug.

"How did it go, sweetie?" Ikaria moved his hair behind his eyes as she stared at his face.

"The Teacher didn't know about what is my Elemental Core." Seyric's eyes trembled.

Ikaria's lips twitched as she smiled, "Hm, I think yours will be Light Elemental Core."

Seyric squinted his eyes. "Was that supposed to be white color…?"

"No, no. It's not." Ikaria shook her head as she sighed.

She then grabbed her son's hand as they started to walk by the side, as a dozen carriages passed in the center.

Seyric hummed as Ikaria blinked her eyes and glanced at him.

"Anyways, father is home early, so you have to stay with him. I have to buy foods from the market. Would like something?" Ikaria raised her brows.

Seyric glanced at her and nodded, "Yes, mother!"

"Okay, sure. For now, let's head back."

As the night fell again, Seyric slept in bliss as Ikaria tucked in his covers before she left the room. She bolted across the hallway as she opened the door of her bedroom. Where Euris sat by and smiled at her. She forced to smile before she plopped beside him.

"A teacher came asking about his conditions." Euris muttered.

Ikaria's shoulders lowered as she stared at her hands. "Seyric is pretty curious about it too… Why don't we tell him?"

Euris shrugged as he touched her shoulder, "I think he's too young to handle it. Even if he acts out of his age, honey… He's still a child."

Ikaria bit her lips and faced his gaze, "What are you planning then...?"

Euris fluttered his lashes as he hummed. "I think, I'll go talk to the headmaster, tomorrow, I'm sure he'll understand."

"Fine, if you say so."

"Just lay low fo a little, honey. I'll handle it." Euris smiled.

As she nodded her head. "Yes, I understand..."
