THE CHILDREN OF THANOSEID

Steppenwolf throws Ms. Wonder through a car. As Diana tries to regain her footing, Steppenwolf jumps into the and swings down his axe to kill her, but Captain Krypton quickly jumps in the way, using his shield to block it then swings it around and hits Steppenwolf in the chest with it, sending him flying. Steppenwolf spits out blood and glares at the Captain.

"I'm going to carve out your heart and bring it back to Thanoseid, Kryptonian." Steppenwolf says.

Clark smirks.

"Go for it." The Captain replies.

Meanwhile, Proxima Midnight slams Hal down and grabs him by the throat.

"Lady, I have never hit a woman in my life, but you are seriously pushing it." Hal says.

"I've killed a lot of Green Lanterns. But you- you're different from the others." She tells him.

"Probably because of my charming personality. Also I can do this."

At that moment, the light in the middle of Hal's chest begins to glow brighter and he shoots out his unibeam, blasting her away. Midnight regains her footing, but then gets hit at super speed by Mercury. She tries to stab him with her spear but Pietro moves too fast for her. Proxima then pauses for a moment, waiting for the right moment, then grabs Pietro by the throat.

"You're starting to become an annoyance." She tells him.

"Yeah, I've been told that before."

She is then shot in the back by with one of her Talons from her gauntlet. Midnight scowls at Dinah and slowly walk towards her. Black Raven smiles, preparing for a fight.

As that's happening, Peter ducks Corvus Glaive's double-sided polearm and flips behind him. Glaive tries to swing it around but Spider-Bat catches it, then lands a spinning back elbow. He then lands a knee to his jaw and kicks him down to the ground. As Glaive is on one knee, he throws his polearm at Peter's chest with great speed. Peter not only dodges it but also catches it, surprising Glaive. The child of Thanoseid starts to laugh, spitting out blood and rising to his feet.

"And here I thought your planet was full of pathetic weaklings. Where have you been hiding?" Corvus asks.

Peter then swings the polearm with great speed.

"New York. I don't get out much."

Back with Captain Krypton, Steppenwolf swings his axe down on his shoulder but is shocked when it doesn't even scratch Clark.

"Not- impressed."

He then uses his ice breath to freeze his axe and then shatters it with his shield. Steppenwolf gets angry and tries to throw a punch but The Captain hits him first, knocking him to the ground. When he gets back to his feet Ms. Wonder charges up and blasts Steppenwolf, launching him up in the air. Captain Krypton then flies towards him and punches him in the face, sending him flying back. Ms. Wonder then pulls out her sword, jumps off of a nearby car and cuts off Steppenwolfs head. Both Clark and Diana nod at each other after the fight is done.

Meanwhile, Dinah ducks and dodges Proxima's spear, barely keeping up with her. She then gets her leg cut, dropping her to a knee and gets kicked in her chest, dropping her to the ground. Dinah tries to let out a sonic scream, but Proxima grabs her by the throat.

"This is the end for you, pitiful human." Midnight says.

Before she could kill her, Pietro speeds in, landing a right hook to her face, causing her to let go of Dinah. As Midnight is staggering, Black Raven let's out a sonic scream, knocking her to the ground. As she's on the ground, a giant green fist comes down on her, crushing her and knocking her out. Mercury then helps Raven back to her feet.

"You alright?" Mercury asks.

"Yeah, I'll live. Thanks, sparky." She replies.

As the two smile at each other, Hal comes down from the sky.

"You let me handle the nicknames, ok agent Romanoff?" Hal jokingly says.

Back with Peter, he swings the polearm around, but Corvus swipes it out of his hands then throws him into a wall. As Peter's back is literally against the wall, Corvus charges in to stab him with the polearm. Peter quickly flips and sticks onto the wall to avoid the blade, then kicks Corvus across the face. He then flips off the wall, landing infront of his opponent, and lands multiple punches and kicks, stunning him. He then web launches himself at Corvus, dropkicking him into the side of a car, knocking him out. As he webs him against the car, the rest of the heroes join him.

"Ok, that's three down. Where's the fourth one?" Hal asks.

At that moment, all of the heroes are pinned against a wall by an unknown force. As they crushed against the force of what seems to be air, Ebony Maw soon floats infront of them, using his telekinesis.

"In all the time I've served Thanoseid. I have never failed him. If he were to come to this measly planet, and see you six still breathing. There would be... judgment."

Ebony Maw then floats closer into each heroes fast as they try to struggle free.

"You save nothing. Your powers are inconsequential compared to mine."

Peter grits his teeth, and forces his hand to reach his utility belt.

"And I thought- Stark had a big ego."

At that moment, Peter sticks a taser device onto Ebony Maw's head, electrocuting him and freeing them all.

"Is everyone alright?" Peter asks.

"My spine feels a little funny, but other than that I'm great." Mercury says.

As Ebony Maw, tries to get to his feet, Peter webs his hands together and grabs him by the shirt.

"What does your boss want with earth?" Peter demands to know.

"There's nothing you can do to me that would make me betray Lord Thanoseid."

Hal then steps up.

"I can think of a few things." Hal says.

Diana quickly stops him.

"I have a better way."

She then wraps her lasso around Ebony Maw.

"The lasso of truth compels you. What does Thanoseid want with earth?" Ms Wonder asks.

Ebony Maw tries to resist but can't help but give into it.

"We- are- terraforming your planet." Ebony Maw says.

"Makes sense." Peter says.

"How do you figure?" Hal asks.

"Well for starters- the waters on fire." Peter replies.

Everyone looks over and see multiple creatures storming around a fire in the middle of the ocean. Giant red towers soon rises all around Metropolis, including from the ocean. They then look up and see multiple creatures kidnapping innocent people.

"Ok, what the hell are those things anyway?" Hal asks.

"ParaChitauri. Thanoseids own personal army that he commands." Ebony Maw says.

"They're not killing them. They're harvested them." Peter says.

"This earthling is smarter than he looks." Ebony Maw.

Without hesitation, Peter punches Ebony Maw across the face, knocking him out.

"This isn't an isolated incident either, it's happening across the world." Mercury points out.

At that moment a beam of light flashes through one of the towers and out comes Thanoseid who slowly flies towards our heroes.

"I'm guessing that's the Thanoseid, he wouldn't shut up about." Peter says.

"Woah." Mercury says.

Hal scoffs.

"He doesn't look that tough." He says.

At that moment, Shield jets comes flying in and shoot multiple missiles at him. When the smoke cleared, Thanoseid is unharmed and unfazed by this, shooting out lazer beams from his eyes and curving them to hit the jets.

"No." Captain Krypton says.

Thanoseid soon lands infront of them.

"I am entropy. I am death. I am Inevitable. I am... Thanoseid."

Meanwhile, on the Helicarrier, Nick Fury helps a few of his people back to their feet and to safety while the uninjured crewmembers help with repairs. At that moment, someone approaches Fury with information.

"Sir, The council is on."

Nick Fury sighs, not in the mood for what the council has to say.
