The girl who wanted to be Luna

Author's note : Luna - The mate of the Alpha is known as Luna.

I'm mentioning this in advance so you guys don't get confused later in the chapter.

It didn't take him a single second to realize that he was not alone in the room. The heartbeat and the scent of this person was familiar to him and he knew who the person was.

"What are you doing here Luciana?" He asked nonchalantly, without even looking at her direction.

Luciana Einar was the daughter of Arthur Einar, who was one of the closest friends of Deimos's parents. She was sitting on the couch right in front of the balcony, bathing her naked body in the moonlight. A crooked smile was planted on her lips ever since she noticed Deimos's presence in the room.

"I've reminded you umpteen times not to address me by that name." She answered as she pulled herself up from the couch and turned back to face Deimos.

His eyes were still gleaming bloodred and she couldn't help but feel her desires rush all over her. She walked amorously to stand face to face with him, still naked yet confident.

Moving her fingers up his arm she held his face and said, "Call me Luna!" Her voice was seductive and only for him to hear.

"Don't forget you are not my luna. . . yet." Deimos removed her hand and looked away. He then passed her a robe.

She tsked at his response as she covered herself.

He was not in the frame of mind to entertain her claims. In all honesty, his mind was enraptured by someone else tonight and he was stuck to the enchantment, turning a blind eye to the seductress in front of him.

"But I'll be soon!" She promised with confidence radiating from her eyes.

Luciana possessed every necessary and beautiful trait in a perfect sync. There was no woman who could stand up to her. None in her knowledge.

She had no layer of clothing on her body and it didn't make her feel conscious about herself. In stead she loved the time and place she was at.

She moved more closer to him and traced a finger along his jaw, her eyes fixated on his lips.

"You were so breath-taking tonight. I couldn't avert my eyes off you!"

"Yeah, but did you ever pay attention to my words?" His eyes were penetrating, seeming to tear through her delusional aura.

"Of course, how can I ever turn a deaf ear to your words. You know you are of paramount importance to me. I will always put you first."

Deimos stared at her in disbelief.

"Even before your family?"

"Even before my family." She promised.

"That's where you are wrong Luciana." He concluded.

"And how exactly is that?"

"If you ever paid any attention to my words tonight, you would know."

The statement was like a slap at her face. But she wasn't done yet.

She followed him as he went to stand by the wide balcony of his room.

In the quiet of the night the howls of wolves echoed through the entirety of Ardolf. The kingdom was dark illuminated by the serene moonlight. Far away from the land of Ardolf, Deimos could spot the glimmering lights from the neighbouring kingdoms, the hunter kingdoms. And immediately his thoughts rushed back to the girl he met in the forest.

Her face was raw and fresh in his memories and he closed his eyes to shut all his surroundings to see her again, so he could relive the time he spent with her through his memories.

The expression on his face was peaceful and Luciana wished if she knew how to read minds.

"What are you thinking?" She questioned, curiously.

On the sudden interruption his eyes flung open. "I'm thinking about the upcoming events, about future." He was still looking away.

"I too sometimes ponder about the future." Luciana admitted looking at the scenic view from the balcony.

He let out a small laugh at her statement as he foresaw where it was going.

"And what is it that you think of?" He challenged her.

Luciana didn't notice the mockery in his words and went on with her reply.

"I think about us, about what is going to happen with us. Do you know how exhilarated I grow by every passing day? I can't wait for the day we tie the knot!" She expressed her thoughts as she held his hand close to her chest.

"There's all the time for that." He replied nonchalantly as he walked away, getting his hand out of her loose grip.

Ever since she was a little kid, Luciana has admired Deimos in every way possible. As kids they would often meet and play with each other and she had been his devoted friend ever since. But as the time elapsed, she realized she felt uniquely about him and her feelings birthed out of the friendship they had with each other. She even claimed that Deimos was her destined mate.

On the contrary, Deimos considered her a valuable friend who he could never give up on but there was no depth to his feelings towards her. For her she was a person who never left his side and he could not thank her enough.

Sometimes he would wonder if the friendship they had was the cause of Luciana's feelings, if they were forced. As for him, he never thought of feeling something as deep as love for anyone.

To break the ice formed between them Deimos finally said.

"Now I suggest you return back to your home. Your family must be looking for you." He cut the conversation and disappeared into the dark of his room leaving Luciana alone in the balcony.

This wasn't the first time he had pushed her away. She was familiar with his behaviour but she was never going to give up. According to her she was his deserving Luna in the land of Ardolf and no girl could compete with her. Neither in terms of beauty and charms nor in terms of strength and wit.

It was true but how far could one go for love.
