Chapter 33: Serena Setter

I wish I could say that I slept. I didn’t. I lost track of how long we were in the shower, only partly washing ourselves, and then getting distracted by each other all over again. When we were as clean as we could get, Macon carried me to the bed, completely naked. And we spent a good portion of the night wrapped up in each other.
When the morning came, we both woke to a knock on the door.
“Serena, I was just coming to check on you to see if you were ready for breakfa— Oh my Goddess!” I jumped at the sound of my mom’s voice, and quickly covered up with the blankets.
Macon only chuckled. “Morning, Imogen.”
Mom had her eyes covered. “Oh, I---I---um. I didn’t expect you to be----”
At that point, I had covered my head with my blanket. “Mom, did you need something? Can you say it quickly please, so we can end this embarrassing moment?”
“Actually, I think it’s sweet,” said Mom. “Of course, now I owe Eden five dollars.”
