Emily’s perspective:
“Are you sure? I thought you said Vin didn’t know where we are?” Gabby murmurs into my ear while we stand at the back of the meeting room and watch Grant, Cleveland, and Tulsa work out a plan.
“Sshhh…” I try to hush her as we stand out of the way, huddled up in the corner. I don’t want to be any more trouble. I mean, if Vin did take Bram, this is our fault. And if something else happened, we wouldn’t have been out there if it wasn’t for me. Either way, it’s our problem.
“You said he didn’t know,” Gabby says again, though a little more lively.
Grinding my teeth, I reply with a whispered, “Shut up. Doesn’t mean he might not have figured it out by now.” Crossing my arms, I put my back to Gabby, hoping she’ll take the hint. As little sisters do, she ignores my hint.
“Sh*t, sis. It just doesn’t make sense to me. Vin’s too f*ckin’ crazy to just stop at making some half-a** trap. If it was him, he’d of just come at you then and there. He wouldn’t wait.”
