"Excuse me?"
"Excuse me, Mister—"
Isabelle called him but he was thinking about the past. She found it too awkward like she was talking to a problematic stranger. She gasped as she put down the first-aid kit on the table.
She felt nervous. There was no time that she spoke to other men inside and outside of the school. She enjoyed the students' company since they day she started teaching. Entertaining a stranger was new to her as she didn't use to be surrounded with other people.
However, Devin's wound was bleeding continuously. If it was left untreated, an infection would take place that would be truly dangerous. As hard as she could be, Isabelle tapped his shoulders as she hoped it would catch his attention.
"E-excuse me, but I have to treat your wound!" She said and tapped his shoulders once again.
Devin blinked his eyes when he realized that she was trying to get his attention. He was caught up with a conversation with his mother as it completely changed his perspective and ambitions in life.
Before she misunderstood his strange actions, he looked into her eyes intently and sighed.
He said, "I… I just remembered something. A deep conversation with my mother! I'm sorry if it seemed strange to you."
"No, that's completely fine with me! I don't know how to feel if I was in your place right at that moment." Isabelle stated the fact.
She couldn't remember her lonely past, her parents, siblings and relatives. Isabelle forgot everything due to an accident eight years ago. Aside from her true identity, she had be unable to remember that she was the alpha's obsession.
The creature before her was the one she was longing for a long time. Even if she couldn't resist his strong presence, Isabelle held onto her emotions.
"You don't have to ask me why, but would you believe if I'll tell you that I had never met my parents since when I was young?"
Devin Mondragon was left surprised by her sudden question. It had caused a burning tension but he didn't attempt to dig up about her past. It wasn't the perfect moment to talk regarding her family but the truth eight years ago.
He wanted to know why Isabelle ended up with an amnesia when she left that night healthy and with enough strength to deal with enemies along the way of her journey. He believed there was something terrible that had taken place.
As he opened his mouth to answer, the cold wind blew up that messed her fragrant hair. There were a few loose strands on her face that urged him to tuck them behind her ear.
He sighed, blinking his eyes in embarrassment but he stooped closer to her and replied, "The wind messed up your hair. Let me do it, Isabelle."
The tension grew wilder and wilder than they both thought. Devin stared at her face and savored the alluring scent she only possessed. He promised he won't go beyond his limitations but now that Isabelle was just an inch away from him, the only thing he wanted to do was to be by her side until the very end.
Her crimson lips always melted his heart away and for the nth time around, he wanted to seal her with a kiss.
"Isabelle," he moaned, staring deeply in her glinting eyes.
"M-Mister—"
"I… I won't take you for granted anymore. But let me look at you for a moment." Devin pleaded. After controlling his emotions, he had overcome the thirst beneath his body.
Seeing Isabelle was one of his weaknesses. The desirous monster was craving for a woman's touch and body. He didn't know the reasons behind of his addiction and it was driving him insane.
"M-Mister," Isabelle whispered. Her eyes were sparkling, grasping the cotton balls tightly. She perhaps reluctant what to do with him but her emotion was too strong and genuine. "Y-your wound… your wound—"
"Miss beautiful!"
"Miss beautiful!"
Out of nowhere, the twins looked for her. They went into the porch, looking around the refreshing area surrounded with lovely flowers. Anna was amused by the butterflies while Anne stunned by the flowers.
Anna smiled sweetly, catching one of the butterflies when they heard a loud noise from nearby. She then turned her gaze to the opposite direction, realizing Isabelle and Devin was hugging each other.
Her eyes widened, thinking one of the couples on the television she'd watched. They were hugging each other when someone's arrived and the same thing happened with her.
As Anne's twin sister, she quickly ran and covered her eyes by her hands. She sighed, holding Anne's head for the meantime.
"Don't move! Something is going on between Miss Beautiful and our handsome savior!"
"W-what? Are they kissing just like in the movies?" Anne asked innocently.
The twins misunderstood the awkward situation of Isabelle and Devin. Their judgement was based on the movies they had watched long time ago and thought they were truly embracing each other tightly as it was supposed to be.
"Anna! Anne!"
Isabelle stood straight away from Devin. She was nervous, thinking how to explain it to the twins. She slightly tilted her head, smiling shortly that didn't change anything.
"I-it's not— I mean, t-there's n-nothing going on… between us! I-it was merely an accident, right?" Isabelle looked at him, telling to make an alibi. Making an alibi was inappropriate but they had no other choice.
The twins would never understand without a clear explanation and conviction from the two of them.
"S-she's right! We are not doing what you said earlier! I only tucked away her loose hairs to see her beautiful face as well!"
Devin found it hard to convince the twins. His knees were shaking as he had never felt that way before. Sleeping with different female werewolves every night wasn't big deal for him but the twins' judgement feared him to death.
For the first time, an alpha felt how to be a real human with simple happiness. Power, strength and wealth were nothing without genuine happiness. In his entire life, Devin could finally say that he was home after being miserable and lost.
