Chapter 22: Finding A Solution

I have been driven into darkness without light, I walked with my eyes bringing forth the countless fountains that flowed down my cheeks.

If not for Carina and the few friends I had in this pack, I don't know what would have become of me.

Yes, I was tired, weak and my bones says it all as I walked down the stairs. My bitterness and tribulations enveloped me, getting ready to devour me.

" Vanessa Oh Vanessa, why did fate choose this part for me? This was not what I planned for.

I wish before one could be born into this world, they could be allowed to choose their life and be the architect of that future before coming out into the world, I would have designed a place where only me, my family and my loved ones live without any disturbance but that's not the way things work.

Some people have to be poor, some rich, some weak, others strong, some lucky while the rest unlucky if not, the world will not be balanced. I am nod nodded allowed my thoughts to take absolute control over me.

I cared less about the surroundings and what was happening. As I was just about to clean my eyes, I heard a slight crack and before I could respond, I tripped and fell down the stairs rolling like a wheel till I reached the last stairs with a large force bashing my head against the wall.

I coughed as I stand to recover from the sudden accident.

As I tested the blood coming out of my mouth, out of anger I stood up to see who was responsible for this misdeed.

Lo and behold, it was no other person than the demon, the devil's incarnate " Kimberly".

I glared at her sending a threatening look towards her.

" And what is that look for Vanessa?

" Are you trying to scare or threaten me?

" Is that how your filthy mother Taught you how to behave in front of those in authority?

" Excuse me, did you just say mother?

" Now let me warn you, any time you open that dustbin of yours you call a mouth, I promise to rip your head apart from your body.

" Haha," she laughed.

" I see you lack manners"

" Is like you don't know how to address your Luna?

" Did you just say Luna,? Don't tell me that you see yourself as the Luna of this pack ."

" Do you think I don't know your plans? You want to take the only person my heart beats for in this world. I would rather die than see you become a luna! She yelled.

" I never want to be any Luna of some kind of evil pack that slaughtered my family.

Besides, am the princess of my tribe, a strong one at that ".

" I don't have a loss of memory, I still remembered."

" Was it not your tribe that Alpha Kale Slaughtered?

" Wasn't your father the one he ripped his head off?

" Your cousin and your aunt faced the same pathetic fate when he crushed their skull". I wish I was there to see his handsome face and hands crushing and destroying everything you had.

" Let me remind you that you're still a slave in this pack and a slave you shall remain "

Now let me give you the shocker she smiled devilishly.

" Come to think of it, you tried to save a random werewolf and got your tribe killed. Aren't you ashamed of yourself? The souls of your villagers are crying out in hell, seeking to revenge their agony on you".

Let me ask you " assuming your Dad found out what you did, do you think he will ever forgive a shameless daughter like you?

She was right I thought. I couldn't move, speak or talk as I had all my gaze fixed on her with my tears flowing without effort from my eyes.

I don't know if I would ever forgive myself again, I caused all This. I sealed my fate, and the fate of my tribe on that very river as those memories came flashing back.

She walked close to me and tried to lift a strand of my hair off my face but I pushed her hands away.

She turned in fury and glared at me, pushing me again as I lost balance and fell on the floor hitting my hands on the flower vase located before the corridors.

I looked at my hands as blood gushed out of my hands.

" Is that blood" she mocked.

" Never mind, Alpha Kale won't come running here to protect you because he's in love with me.

" Gone are the days when it was mandated that you shouldn't be touched or hurt.

" No Kimberly you can't do this"

" Yes I can, who dares to say a Luna like me can't get what she requests. It will just take me a minute to inform Kale and all my biddings will be done.

" Don't worry I will make sure you suffer what I suffered the day Kale got me whipped because of you.

" Don't worry, I won't kill you, never would I get my hands covered with filthy blood like yours but I will make here a living hell for you that you will desire your death by yourself.

" It is only when you die that I can drink my wine peacefully". She snapped.

" If you are this low self-esteemed, am not," I said courageously.

" There's more to life than just giving up". I believe that destiny has other plans for me.

At that moment I had that feeling I experienced when I was very angry and pushed to the wall years ago by kale.

I felt as if there's this hidden kind of energy in me that erupted. I spoke without fear as I kept my face plainly without expression or any sought of emotion.

" I could have begged Kale to allow me to twist and gorge out your mother's heart, feeding it to my little pet. I would love to see her ugly face die in pain as her little seductress stand and watch without doing anything because she's a weakling looking for where to perch and hide her flaws.

The moment I heard the name " mother," I channelled all my anger and ran furiously towards her.

I grabbed her hair and threw her away, making sure she crashed her back against the wall as she whimpered in pain.

I got hold of her cloth and gave her a dirty blow across her face, making her see the constellation of stars.

" Today I will show you that I am far more than you have imagined".

As she raised her hands to deal with me, I pushed all my current emotions to my heart making me feel heavy, all pain, anger, cries I received from this human girl, making Kale feel them since our hearts have been bonded. All thanks to the Heart's portion.

As I closed my eyes to receive my fate, it was as if a breeze blew over me.

When I opened my eyes, I was surprised to see Kale holding Vanessa on her neck pinning her to the wall as she gasped for breath.

" What did you do to her " kale thundered, asking Vanessa who was struggling to free herself from his grip.

" Kale kill Vanessa! I yelled.
