The Alpha's Forsaken Feisty Mate

“I won't divorce you, Melissa. Until your last breath, you will live with me in this nameless marriage,” Radulf declared. Melissa Rosetta, the illegitimate daughter of the Alpha King and an omega servant, had no choice but to comply with her father's demand― marry Radulf De Lagrange, the fallen Alpha of the once-powerful Shadow Hunter Pack. Despite being the strongest dominant alpha, Radulf's influence and power crumbled when his father was accused of treason against the crown. As for Radulf's punishment? He was forced to marry a weak, wolf-less omega, who he had nothing but disdain for. To top it off, he was sent to the Western Frontier on his wedding day. Melissa eagerly awaited Radulf's return as she suffered through ridicule, believing that when he did, he would be happy to see how mighty his pack had become under her care. However, after four years, Radulf returned with a beautiful woman, shattering Melissa's heart. "You betrayed me while I stayed loyal to you. I don't want to live with you and watch your affair with another woman. Divorce me, Radulf, and free me from this marriage. If you don't wish to do that, then mark me,” Melissa demanded on the day of his return. “Divorce you, Feisty Princess? Never! If you want to get marked, then beg me or seduce me to do so,” Radulf challenged. On the day of his rut, he said, “Melissa, my mate, allow me to mark you.” ~~~~ Special thanks to my editor for refining the synopsis.

Dominate you, break you and hurt you

'No, this can't be possible. She can't be our mate,' Radulf told himself firmly, trying to silence the overwhelming voice of his wolf. But Melissa's scent was intoxicating and undeniably strong, thus making it nearly impossible for him to resist.

Yet, somehow, he forced himself to step back.

His mind was clouded, chaotic, and unable to focus. He couldn't bring himself to force Melissa to hand over the key. Frustrated, he took several steps away from her, pivoting sharply on his heels. His hands raked through his hair in an effort to ground himself, though it was futile.

'You can't do this, Radulf. We need to mate with her,' Black, his wolf, growled insistently in his mind. Black was ecstatic to have found their mate, but he also knew Radulf's stubbornness wouldn't be easy to break.

"Stay quiet!" Radulf snapped aloud, his voice harsh and cutting through the tense air.

Melissa startled at his sudden outburst, her brows knitting together in confusion. "Excuse me?" she asked, her voice edged with both irritation and bewilderment.

Radulf clenched his jaw, realizing his mistake, but he couldn't bring himself to explain. He was desperately trying to regain control over the storm raging within him.

A moment ago, Melissa almost thought he would kiss her, or mark her. She was foolish to even think like that. But what hurt her was how Radulf felt toward her. He didn't even like to touch her.

"Nina is the reward I have received for winning the battle in the Western Frontier. So, you better not disrespect her," Radulf finally said, turning to look at her.

"Are you implying that you will keep her in this mansion?" Melissa asked, her voice laced with disbelief and hurt. "I told you, if you want to continue your affair with her, then divorce me," she declared firmly, her eyes flashing with anger.

Radulf's jaw tightened, and he clenched his fists, feeling the weight of her accusations pressing down on him. "What about you, Melissa?" he shot back with a growl. "Have you forgotten your own betrayal? You were embracing another man while your husband was still alive! Isn't that an affair too?" His anger surged as he confronted her, demanding an explanation.

"What?" Melissa frowned at his accusation on her.

"Don't act all innocent, Melissa. That man… you were hugging him. You can ask me anything, but not a divorce. I am not freeing you from this marriage. Keep that in mind," Radulf said. Now, he had taken self-control, so he used his dominant alpha ability.

"Open the door and bring Nina to me," he commanded, his eyes shining. Melissa ended up taking out the key from inside her blouse and unlocked the door against her wish.

Melissa followed his command and walked out of the chamber to bring Nina back to the mansion.

"She turned out to be my mate. How am I supposed to stay away from her when her omega pheromones are so strong?" Radulf murmured, torn between his Wolf's desire and his own desire.

'Rafulf, isn't it strange that Melissa couldn't sense our pheromones? An omega should be able to detect them easily. I even released some to make sure her wolf reacted, but it didn't,' Black spoke.

Radulf didn't reply to his wolf but he knew the reason behind it. Melissa's wolf had gone in a dormant state just like his. Because she was an omega, it was difficult to wake her up. But then, it was Radulf's theory. Maybe there was another reason about which he didn't know.

'Are you going to ignore our mate?' Black again interrupted his thoughts.

'Yes. Because I don't consider Melissa as my mate,' Radulf told him. Black turned quiet because there was no use of any argument with him.

"I never knew Melissa was this feisty. Omegas don't even dare to speak before an Alpha, but she uses her tongue like a scissor before me," he muttered. Radulf leaned back in the recliner, his eyes closed in exhaustion, when his Beta, Savio, entered the room.

"Alpha, there's a message from the Alpha King," Savio began, bowing his head respectfully. "He requests your presence tomorrow morning—and Luna Melissa's as well."

Radulf opened his eyes slowly, his expression unreadable. "Hmm. Has Nina returned?" he asked.

"I'm not certain, Alpha," Savio admitted. He hesitated, then added cautiously, "Alpha Radulf, have you heard the rumors circulating about you and Luna Melissa?"

Radulf's brows furrowed, irritation flashing across his face. "How would I know about gossip when I only returned a while ago?" he snapped, his voice laced with frustration.

Savio shifted uncomfortably before speaking. "It's about Luna Melissa. She hasn't received your mark. Without it, her position as Luna could be challenged."

Radulf's lips curled into a bitter smile. "And since when have you become so concerned about her, Savio?"

Savio straightened, his tone firm. "I'm concerned for you, Alpha. Gossip like this could undermine your authority."

Radulf's expression darkened, his fists clenching on the armrests. "I despise her. Have you forgotten what her father did? His actions destroyed everything in this pack." His voice was cold, his anger simmering just beneath the surface while recalling the past. After a moment, he straightened in the recliner and fixed Savio with a piercing gaze. "I want you to investigate something for me."

"What do you need, Alpha?" Savio asked, eager to serve.

"There's a man who lingers too close to Melissa. Find out everything about him—who he is, where he comes from, and what he wants. Don't leave out a single detail," Radulf ordered.

"Understood, Alpha," Savio said, bowing once more before leaving the chamber.

Left alone, Radulf leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees, his jaw clenched tightly. A dark, dangerous glint flickered in his eyes as his thoughts spiraled.

"Melissa," he muttered under his breath, his voice low and venomous. "If I find out you have any kind of illicit relationship with that bastard, I'll rip him apart right in front of you—piece by piece." His hands curled into fists, his knuckles whitening now.

"You became mine the day you married me," he growled, the words dripping with possessiveness and fury. "I will dominate you, break you, and hurt you until my very last breath."
