The Afterlife of a Fantasarian Adventurer

Darren Richards is just an ordinary run of the mill guy at first. He loves to play video games and read webnovels. As a Fantasarian he dreams of a heaven filled with beautiful anime babes that serve his every need, and to be honest he can't wait to die for this very reason. That's why he lives a life fraught with danger and intrigue. From paratrooping into hostile nations, gambling his life on games of life or death in underground fight arenas, and dating beautiful assasins, but despite his best efforts he lives to be an old man who dies in his sleep surrounded by his family. SO CLICHE. This isn't what he asked for, but at least when he wakes up again he is being swaddled by the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, and can you believe it. She's animated!!! One step closer to the dreams he had when he was a young man, but is it going to be everything he ever wished for?

A Whole New World

Twenty-four months have passed by in a blink as I slowly became accustomed to my new life. Surprisingly the transition from 3D to 2D was easier than one would expect. It's almost like I was born for this life. I was given a new name. No longer am I Darren no now I am the honorable Darien Lewis the Third. The first-born son of a Duke! However my friends and family call me Dare for short.

My father Duke Darien Lewis the Second is considered a great man by the thousands under his rule. He rules with an iron fist but has a gentle side that has allowed him to become both revered and feared by all of his subjects, and my mother is nothing but loved. Her name is Ducchess Vivien Lewis. Revered as the mother of mercy in the province she is the voice of reason and love that no one can find a fault with, and of course, there is me! The prodigal son by all accounts.

Legally dead for two minutes or so they say, but miraculously survived and thrived. I have mostly been left to my own devices it is only recently that I have been able to toddle around on my own. I really meant to flash forward a bit more, because I know that no one cares about what a two-year-old has to say, but it's important I promise.

Today I get a tutor. Someone to teach me everything I need to know about the world. Someone who should be with me for the next thirteen years until I am old enough to attend the Royal Academy, and I thought she deserved a proper entrance.

Veronica Cakes the girl genius of the century she has been called. At only eighteen years old she has already proven herself capable of using spells of the 5th level. A feat many don't accomplish in their entire lives let alone by early adulthood. She is also an accomplished spearwoman who can use skills on par with veteran knights. She has put many a man to shame. Especially at her short stature of only 5'3, but let me tell you the most important part.

The ass on this woman is just. Muah! Mmmmmmm chefs kiss let me tell ya. I saw it and just immediately fell in love. I don't know how she moves like she does with cake like that, but damn! Yes, pun intended.

"Hello, Master Lewis I am going to be your instructor from this moment forward. Any questions you have or learning you need do not be afraid to ask." Veronica said with a smile as she squatted to my level.

"Magic!" I asked excitedly in as kiddish a voice I could muster.

"Sorry young master but until you reach the age of accountability and receive your system magic is unavailable to you, but we will learn all kinds of other things. History, Mathematics, Reading, and Writing. You name it we will learn it."

"Magic...." I said crestfallen. It was the same story I had heard countless times before from my mother and father but I hoped a girl genius might have some way of circumventing that particular natural law. Don't get me wrong I'm excited to be doing anything besides suckling my mother's breast, and learning to control my bowels again, but I was really looking forward to something new and exciting. I already know mathematics beyond what this world has perfected at this point, and yeah maybe I need a few years learning to read and write and the history of the world is important too, but still no magic theory, no swordsmanship? This is freaking boring...

"Don't be so sad young master. I promise you we will drill those into you as soon as you get your system, but for now, let us focus on what is important for a two-year-old to know." She said with a smile.

"Ok," I said with as happy a smile as I could considering my disappointment.

"Hug?" I asked sheepishly trying to use my boyish charms to get a handful of sweet ass.

"Sure young master!" She said as she leaned forward and hugged me. Her soft squishy breasts pressed into my chest. Small but supple, but not what I'm looking for. I thought as my pudgy hands fell below her waist. I was so freaking close but I think my father knew what I was doing and coughed lightly. As though reminding us he was still in the room.

"Ok, Darien that is enough." He said lightly as Veronica realized that hugging the young scion of a noble house may not be the best etiquette, especially in front of the iron-fisted duke released me from her sweet embrace before I got a chance to enjoy even a taste.

"I apologize my lord. The young master was just so cute I could not resist." She said with a bow.

"It's understandable my dear he is the cutest kid in the province if I do say so myself, but let's try to maintain some distance. I don't want something to awaken in him." He said as his eyes flashed towards her enormous bottom. Only for the briefest of moments. So quick I doubt Veronica noticed, but I sure did. If I weren't pretending to be an innocent two year old I think I would have given him a thumbs up.

"Thank you, my lord." She said as she raised from her bow.

"Well, young master how about we get started!" She said clapping her hands together excitedly.

Eleven long years and some change went by with me learning from Veronica at a snail's pace, and now I am just one short year away from entering the academy. She has taught me a lot, but I would say having to relearn things that I knew from my past life and maintaining an air of ignorance was incredibly difficult. If not for the hurry-up-and-wait mentality I honed and perfected from my years in the Army I don't think I could have survived.

They don't show that part in the web novels I used to read. The protagonists of those always played the part of geniuses who just knew things from the start, and don't get me wrong no one would argue that I am a genius, but for whatever reason etiquette requires that I don't share information about my past life with the people around me. It's not like they would even believe me, but I can't help but feel like the cliche of keeping that secret is exciting to me.

So I played dumb about a lot, but I did still learn a lot of things I didn't know before. Like the name of this world and the country I live in. Those are pretty important to know you know. I am currently in the world of Tellus. Home to only one known landmass the supercontinent of Cambria which is surrounded by boundless ocean, and if you are looking at the supercontinent of Cambria almost dead center is the country I live in. The Kingdom of Berken, ruled by mighty King Marcus Berken the 6th. My great uncle apparently although I've never met the guy.

However, at the ripe old age of 84 years, he's not as mighty as he once was. The country of Berken is essentially run by his son Crown Prince Chester Berken, and his team of advisors. I've never met him either, but I hear he is good people, I'm told I'll meet his son at the academy next year so I'm looking forward to that. Of course a fantasy such as this one requires that I build a connection with the royal family so they can bestow upon me great honors when I get my system and make a name for myself.

Speaking of system... I think it's just about time. I think to myself as I gaze at the countdown that appeared in my vision early last year counting down to this very day. Everyone has gathered to see my evolution into a true denizen of this world and see my stats. Finally, after 14 long years, my journey can truly begin, and with a ding it does.

<System Initialized>

Appreciate you making it this far. It may not seem like it but one of the hardest jobs in writing fantasy is the world building side. There's a lot more where this came from so stay tuned, but in the meantime now I have to start working on a system. Another monumental task. I don't know how some authors can create a page long status sheet, but I'll try to keep it simple!
