Chapter 9 A Storm Was Coming!

It was almost the end of the day when Shelton dropped Vera off at the company.

"Wait for me here. I'll pick up Kate with you later and go grocery shopping. Let's have a big dinner tonight," Vera said and got out of the car.

"Okay," Shelton said happily.

He saw commuting and cooking with Vera as the start of a great life for them.

When Vera returned, Weldon, his parents, and his aunt and uncle were worried.

"Weldon, what's going on? Didn't you say Vera would be arrested? Why is she back?" Aidan asked.

"How should I know?" Weldon was speechless and took out his cell phone. "I'll call Mr. Black and ask him."

With that, he called Haward.

"Did Vera get caught?" Haward asked as soon as he picked up the phone.

"No," said Weldon, chagrined, "the bitch is back. Mr. Black, are you sure the card is fake?"

"How could it be? I'm sure the Golden Card is definitely fake."
