Capture the King

[RECAP]

Dev and Mia take a break from the merriment to explore a new side of their relationship. Back at the camp, an evening partying spirals out of control.

MIDGE

The queen, in chess she's the most important piece on the board, but no matter how strong she is, you only win if you capture the king. So when Queen Amber finds out Mia has taken her real price, who wants to bet this game, gets ugly.

Amber sits on her throne and watches everyone getting out of control due to the loud music. Harry approaches Jenna who's no mood to celebrate after losing.

"You look nice..." The latter compliments her.

"Nice?"

"I mean not nice...great...you're great."

"I know, but thanks. That's sweet." Jenna fakes a smile.

"Would you like to dance?"

"Oh Hun, don't ever reach." She rolls her eyes and leaves.

Wild Petal sees Alex and gets on her way.

"Ta-da! What!" Petal carrying flowers checks out on the ever gloomy Alex.

"Do you see that? There's someone lurking by my cabin." Alex sees someone peeping at the camp.

"There's no one there. Stop trying to distract...I made one of these for you and you're going to wear it." Petal puts a gallon around her neck. "It'll protect you from evil spirits."

"Not a guarantee..."

"I can see right through you Alex, we're going to have fun tonight." She takes her along with her.

Queen Amber is searching for two people, she knows Mia has been missing in action for a while now. Where did she wander off to?

"Have you guys seen Dev?" Amber asks both Zac and Kayleigh.

Meanwhile, Dev and Mia are wandering in the woods.

"What about the party?" Dev asks.

"What about it? You're not missing something important. C'mon, trust me." Mia holds his hand in hers as they walk.

"I think he went back to get something. Can I just say, you should wear that crown everyday...." Kayleigh flutters Amber.

"This music is tragic..." Jenna shows up suddenly picking canned beer from the table.

"Come on Jenna, it's a party." Kayleigh says.

'This is not a party... certainly impressed with midsunday whatever..."

"It's midsummer...it's a special night." Amber corrects her.

"Yeah, for you, you got queen."

"Yes for me but for everyone else too. You just need to let yourself feel it." Amber then walks away and mingles with the crowd partying hard. Zac and Kayleigh join the dancing crew as Harry doesn't give up on asking Jenna for a dance.

"We should totally dance." Harry jumps up.

"Are you kidding me?" Jenna snubs him.

"You don't love the song?"

"Aaah, no...." Jenna wonders whether she loves the song or not. With her powers, Amber makes everyone go wild as the song changes to Jenna's liking.

"Omg! I do. I love the song." She exclaims excitedly and takes Harry with her to the dancing floor.

Mia and Dev get to one big fallen tree.

"It's a nice tree...now explain to me why we left the party to come here and look at it." Dev is less enthusiastic about Mia's adventure.

"Maybe I really like nature..." Mia blubbers out.

"Mia, I really know like three things about you and one of them is you hate nature...you made that pretty clear on day one." Dev chuckles.

"You got me. Okay, if I'm honest, it thought it's kinda of romantic. I'm sorry about the party. I guess I was hoping that we could hang out." Mia draws closer to Dev.

"As in, you and me." Dev smirks.

"Now you're getting it." Mia nods.

Back at the camp, everyone is getting wild except Alex. Petal spots her and comes over, inviting her for a dance.

"Come on..." She pulls her.

"I don't dance." Alex refuses her offer.

"Why don't you? It's fun and you should try it sometimes." Petal gives up and goes back to the dancing crew. Kayleigh and Zac sneak out to the back of the camp. He applies paint on her face and in that moment, she thinks he's gonna kiss her.

"I'll go grab some drink." He excuses himself as Kayleigh tries to lean closer to him. The disappointed Kayleigh, goes back to Queen Amber's throne.

"Is there something wrong with me? Is there something on my face? It was super romantic...it was like the perfect moment with Zac...and he ran away." Kayleigh cries out to her.

"If you want to know whether he likes you, pretend to like someone else, make him jealous. That should get him a reaction." Amber advises the latter.

"It's time to pick a king. King!" Brendan incites everyone.

"King! King! King!"

Where's Dev? Is he not back yet." Amber asks the broken Kayleigh who shrugs her shoulders. Amber looks around and spots Mia's mask on the table and confronts Jenna, her supposedly friend.

"Where's Mia?"

"I know right? She's been gone for ages." Jenna jeers.

"Gone where? What's she doing?"

"She's gone over there, over there. You were never meant to know that." Jenna who's literally hooked with the dance snubs the fellow and continues to dance with Harry. Zac comes out of his cabin and finds Kayleigh gone. Brendan sits on the king's throne comfortably thinking Amber's gonna choose him as her king.

"Let's dance." Kayleigh ignores Zac's presence and asks Brendan for a dance, making Zac feel so low.

Elsewhere in the woods, Dev and Mia are having a moment, kissing each other and it seems like it'll never be enough.

"So, you still wanna get back to the party?" Mia asks Dev.

"What party..." He leans in to give her yet another breathtaking kiss but a guy in a mask lurking in the woods startles them as he runs away.

"Are you okay?" Dev asks her.

"No! He was deliberately trying to freaks us out. I think Amber sent him..."

"Amber?"

"It think she can't stand us skipping her big moment. Seriously that girl did not need a crown, she's already a full on diva." Mia blurts out making Dev wonder. "What?"

"Is that why we're out here and not at the party, because the party is her moment? This wasn't about you and me, it's about you and her." He gets infuriated and walks out on her.

"Wait, are you serious. Dev, hey, you're really way too much into things."

"No, I'm not just stupid. Look, I like you Mia, but this is clearly some sort of game you have with Amber. I don't wanna be part of that."

"Wait, I know, it isn't a game, I like you too."

"Okay, then we're going to do a proper date, and I decide the time and place."

"A proper date, are you gonna pick me up from my Dad's house with a rose?"

"Nope, I'm gonna meet you tomorrow at the bridge 12pm...don't be late."

"You're kind of cocky you know that."

"Yeah." Dev mutters as they walk out of the woods. Be a gentle man, he takes off his jacket and puts it on her shoulders. Someone else is in the woods and probably not feeling too well. Amber burns with rage and breaks the king's crown as she watches the two holding each other.

Back at the camp, it's the party of the century. Everyone is losing control, getting wild.. Brendan kissing his best friend's crush, Kayleigh. Alex is sitting outside the canteen watching the hell. Dave and Mia make it to the camp and are stunned by the change of events. Dev walks over to Zac who's heart broken by his friend's betrayal.

It's getting too way out of control as Mia sits down watching Harry and Jenna kissing.... something seems off with everyone. Amber returns to her throne. She controls everyone on the dancing floor with her eyes, she makes Zac fight Brendan.

"They're fighting over me. Fight! Fight!" Kayleigh supports Brendan and Zac fighting and sprawling on the ground.

Amber only knows what's happening. Controlling everyone not to be themselves as Mia and Dev wonder.

Petal is too way drunk, taking photos of Harry and Jenna kissing.

"What are you doing? Stop it!" Alex reprimands her.

"You stop! Don't tell me what to do, you don't even know me." Petal yells at her.

"I know this isn't you, this isn't cool."

"You know what, if it's so hard for you to be at this party, why don't you go away. Nobody wants you here." She retorts back at her and Alex removes her gallon, throwing it down and leaves.

"Yeah, that's right you're a loser! Get lost!"

Mia sees the lonely Amber and decides to pay her a short visit.

"Hey Amber, did you miss me? Sorry I borrowed your king, if you don't mind. I did bring him back.''

"I don't need a king and nobody missed you, the party carried on without you."

"Yeah, it's seems like it's going great with all the screaming and crying...I guess some do not know how to have some good time. You look too good yourself, are you okay?"

"Sweet that you're worried about me. You should be." Amber then walks away.

Amber makes a drastic move to control yet another friend of Mia, Jenna. She finds her crying after coming back to her senses....she kissed someone who she wasn't supposed to...for a moment she forgot her dear Stefan. Amber brainwashes her just like she did to Kayleigh. She lost Dev but Mia is going to pay for it dearly..She makes Jenna her follower after Kayleigh.

Morning dawns, the haze from last night wears out of everyone's mind. Mags and Dave are disappointed by the teens making a mess all over. It's time they clean up.

At the mess, Kayleigh is embarrassed after making a fool out of herself with Brendan. Zac doesn't care to look at her. Jenna on the hand, pretends to be on Mia's side as she comes over at their table.

"Hey, are you okay? Do you wanna talk about last night?" Mia asks her.

"I don't. I'm fine. Tell me about Dev."

"It was good, it was really good. We're going out on a date."

"Where?"

"By the bridge." Mia says.

"When?"

"Hey Jenna, are you okay?" Harry interrupts them.

"OMG! Would you please take a hint? It's embarrassing, even if I wasn't with Stefan, I still wouldn't be interested, okay! Go bother someone else. Shuh!" She drives him away.

"That was brutal." Mia says.

''I told you I was fine." Jenna smiles sheepishly.

Dev smiles at Mia as he passes by making Amber feel jealous. Brendan and Zac exchange cold looks. Last night scandal broke some relationships while mended others.

Later as everyone did cleaning, Petal finds Alex, they really needed to have a chat.

"Alex! I'm sorry. I didn't mean it."

"Then why did you just say it?"

"I don't know, I don't know why I said any of it. I don't you're a loser. I think you might be my favorite person here. I just felt so angry and I know it's not just an excuse...."

"Yes! It's not." Alex walks out in her.

Elsewhere, Brendan makes an effort to apologize to his best friend Zac.

"I'm sorry."

"Yeah so what, me too." Zac mutters.

"Yeah?" Brendan shakes His hand.

Time elopes, it's Mia and Dev's date but she's still collecting litter.

"If anyone asks where I am, please cover me." Mia tells Jenna and leaves. Dev also leaves. Amber and Jenna make an eye contact. Jenna is now Amber's spy about Mia's every day activities. Amber with just a stick, controls nature. She diverts Dev's mind as he roams about the forest trying to locate the bridge. Dev gets lost as the sign of a yellow flag left behind by Mia is controlled by Amber. Mia gets to the bridge and waits for Dev who doesn't show up.

"If you're waiting for Dev, he's not coming." Amber appears with her two slaves, Kayleigh and Jenna.

"According to you, excuse me if i don't believe that...what's going on?" Mia still thinks Jenna is on her side.

"Someone needed to tell you that you've been stood up." Amber says.

"Not getting rolled up by a boy, are you?"

"Of course this isn't about Dev, it's about you."

"Jen, you told her."

"Of course she told me. She's my friend, right Jenna?"

"Right." Jenna smiles.

"You don't have as many friends as you think you have..." Amber moves closer to her and so does the two.

"I wanted to give you a fair warning, you cross the line with me Mia, that means you're not going to get happy."

"Could I just get an ending coz you talking is boring."

"Pride comes before a fall." Amber and her followers step more closer as Mia looks down the river. She then gets away from them.

She runs out of the forest and trips falling down. A strange guy with bows and arrows appears from behind her.

"Don't make a sound." He threatens her.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! She squeals.
