Eleanora White

"You're useless, you couldn't even do something as simple as grabbing what I told you to grab!" A boy yelled in a rough tone.

"I'm sorry…" A young female had apologized after getting pushed down to the floor.

"That isn't going to save you what's going to happen to you right now!" He said standing over her with a group of boys.

"Hey! What's happening here?!" An older voice had yelled.

"Who-! Shit! Let's go!" The boy exclaimed for his group to leave.

"It's them again! ...Sigh… Are you alright dear?" The lady asked the girl after bending down to see her face.

"Yes, I'm fine." She said as she tried to cover her limbs.

The lady had noticed her trying to do so, so she reached out for her arm and rolled up her sleeve on the girl's uniform.

"What… You, come with me to my office." The lady ordered as she got up, continuing to grab the girl's arm.

"Alright…" She mumbled.

After a few minutes of walking, the lady had opened a large wooden door and led the girl in.

"Take a seat, I wanted to ask you a few things." She ordered as she sat down.

"Okay miss." she replied as she pulled out the chair.

"Alright, now that we're in private, I wanted to ask you about something I noticed at first sight."

"Ok…?" The girl had tilted her head, with both a confused and worried look on her face.

"Oh I almost forgot! What's your name dear?"

"It's Eleanora."

"As you should now, this academy was built for the sons and daughters of high class nobles and royals for them to become the Kingdom's elite mages and give them a chance at entering the Hall of Magic."

"Yes, I am aware."

"So, which family are you from?"

"I'm from the White Family."

"White… Wait, you said the White Family?!"

"Yes, as in Eleanora White."

"I'm so so so sorry for my rudeness Princess Eleanora! I should've known that it was you with that unmistakable bright white hair and your pale sky blue eyes."

"It's quite alright, my status aside, what did you wish to ask me?"

"It's about your mana, why are you suppressing your own mana flow?"

"I don't want to stand out as exceptional, so I suppressed it to under the regular amount of mana for a student at this school."

"Why wouldn't you want to excel at the greatest magic academy in the kingdom?"

"It would take away even more of my already limited freedom if I excel here."

"What do you mean?"

"As the princess, most of my life is stuck within the palace, and when I can go out, I'm escorted by a squadron of Royal Guards and Elite Mages for my safety."

"I see… So that's what you meant by freedom."

"Yea."

"Princess, do you mind if I see your arm?"

"Oh my arm…? Sure…" Eleanora's face soon had lost her smile that she had kept on.

"These bruises… Why haven't you gotten them treated yet? And who would do this to the royal princess?" She asked out of concern.

"Princess… I know you might not want to, but I'm just trying to help." She reassured her.

"Alright, fine, I'll tell you." She said, hesitantly.

"Well…?"

"It was… the Queen… and it was her who didn't allow anyone to treat them, and would hurt me even more if I did."

"That's… unbelievable, who would do such a thing?!" The lady said as she continued to use restorative magic on Eleanora's arms.

"Do you… have these all around your body…?"

"Yes… yes I do."

"...Poor girl…" she thought.

A few moments later.

"Thank you… Miss?" Eleanora said in gratitude, after the lady had completely healed all of her wounds with restorative magic, albeit still not knowing what to call her.

"Oh! I forgot I haven't told you my name, my deepest apologies, princess."

"Just Eleanora is fine, I'm a student here after all."

"Very well. And as for my name, it's Irene, Irene Stone."

"I feel like I've heard that name before… Albeit I can't remember from where."

"You probably have… Wait… those kids that were bullying you…"

"The one who pushed me, was my brother, Elijah."

"Why did he do that?"

"He was the son of my current mother, or in other words, the current Queen."

"That explains quite a bit, but is he the same prince who's supposed to inherit the throne?"

"Thankfully, no."

"That's reassuring, that brat has been nothing but trouble ever since he came to this academy!"

Eleanora giggled upon hearing Mrs.Irene call her brother a brat.

"Something wrong?"

"No, not at all, it's just funny hearing him be called a brat instead of me by someone…" she sighed. "That aside however."

"It is my first brother, Lucas, who is already extremely accomplished on the battlefield, is the oldest and is my legitimate brother by blood, he is the one who's supposed to inherit the throne, albeit that's mostly why Elijah hates us, for he shares no Royal blood."

"I see.. So that's how it is in the Royal family... That aside Eleanora, I believe I have consumed a large portion of your time, so why don't we stop our chat."

"No no, it was fine, it was… kind of nice, talking to someone who would listen."

"Poor girl…" Irene had once again thought.

"I'll get going then, actually, I wanted to ask…"

"Hm, did you need something else?"

"Could we umm… talk like this again?" Eleanora humbly asked.

"Of course! I'd be delighted to be in your presence again."

"Thanks…"

"Off you go now!" Irene said as she waved.

Eleanora waved back to her, and had left the room, with Irene returning to her paperwork.
