Their "Leader"? [4]

Everette wasn't told where to take Patrick, so he brought him to the chapel. He knocked on the boarded-up door and waited for a response.

"Who is it?" An elegant voice resounded from behind the door.

"It's Everette, the guy that was just here a while ago."

After saying that, the door peered wide open to reveal Alice's otherworldly beauty. The night was a bit windy, so her hair fluttered in the wind, adding more to her beauty.

Her eyes immediately locked onto his figure. Everette gulped as he felt the stare coming from her.

He gestured towards Patrick, "T-this is our driver. Could you look after him while we're gone?" Patrick puffed out a cloud to the side. "Here, I thought we were friends."

He wiped an imaginary tear from his eyes, which earned a wry smile. Alice watched this in amusement, "Sure. As long as he doesn't smoke in here, it'll be fine."

"Ugh..." Patrick gave a low groan. He sighed and nodded. He plucked the cigar from his mouth before dropping it on the floor and grinding it with the heel of his leather shoe. Even though he loved the feeling that came from smoking, he knew when to stop when asked.

Everette spun around, planning to leave before being called out by Alice, "Would you like to stay a while?" He turned his head around and smiled.

He shook his head and responded:

"Thank, but maybe next time, I'll have someone to get back to this very instant or else I'll have a shoe up my ass."

Alice covered her mouth before laughing. "I see, I see. Well then, you better not keep her waiting." Alice figured out who this "someone" was and decided it was really best for him to get back to her right away.

He smiled before bidding her and Patrick farewell for now. He wandered through the corridors towards the direction of the cafeteria before hearing the sounds of voices in one of the empty classrooms.

He located which room it was before leaning against the door. He pressed his ear again and began to focus on the sounds.

"I heard Victor woke up today."

"He has. He should be resting in the infirmary currently."

Everette noticed the voices leaned more to the side of masculine. He saw a gap in between the door and carefully looked through it to see Coll and his members.

He was on a wooden desk alongside his greatsword.

"Let's kill him."

Everette's eyes widened at his word, and so did his party. "T-there's no need for such things, Coll!" "Y-Yeah!" "It was just one mistake; it wasn't his fault the beetle was that strong!"

"SILENCE!" Coll roared. His words caused them to seal their mouth shut immediately. "I don't care if it was a mistake; just the fact a single attack knocked him out is all that matters."

Subsequently, after saying that, he hopped off the desk and raised his greatsword. With a strong swing, he crushed the desk and made it explode into splinters.

"Not only that, but he is also in the soldier rank, which gives us even more reason to get rid of him if he causes a rebellion."

Everette saw this happen and couldn't help but think, 'Is this guy an idiot or something!?'

He was baffled at how he came to that conclusion, 'I thought this guy was smart! Straight A student, my ass!'

Everette switched his attention to his party member's faces. They all had grim expressions, but he couldn't help but notice that they were all staring at the same thing - the greatsword.

'Could there perhaps be something special about it other than it being a pretty big mandible?'

"Oh yeah... Did you guys notice a few new faces in the hall?" Coll slowly turned back towards his group to find them confused.

"No?"

"Were there any? I couldn't see them."

"You might have been mistaken, Coll—"

The party tanker Zack saw a hand grasp his head before suddenly being thrown across the classroom. He crashed into the wall and groaned.

"You dare say I could be wrong?" Coll approached him with steady steps while slowly raising his greatsword. The other two members held him back.

"W-wait! He didn't mean it!"

"Y-Yeah! You know how he is!"

Coll snorted before shrugging them off and walking away from Zack. "At the back of those bunches of losers, I saw a guy with a pretty big bow." He looked towards Lucas, "Befitting for an archer like yourself."

He walked around the room, "A girl with glasses... Jane, I remember that your glasses broke last week. Is that right?"

Jane nodded anxiously, "Y-yes. W-What about it?" Coll nodded, "You can take hers."

Jane was stumped, "T-they wouldn't be the right prescription, Coll."

"Shouldn't matter, right? It will do for now as long as you can see through them." He came around and patted her shoulder before leaning in close to her face. "Soon enough, you won't be needing glasses as long as you keep on getting stronger. Specifically, by my side." His voice was low and, at the same time - intimidating.

Jane's body shook in fear before rapidly nodding her head. Coll smirked in satisfaction from her submissive behaviour.

He walked towards the window and leaned against it. The moonlight shone through and covered him. He stared towards the stares with a thoughtful expression.

"Ah... I remember seeing a girl... She was pretty cute..."

He licked his lips before a repulsive grin spread across his face, "Perhaps I should make her my new plaything~."

Everette hands gripped tightly against the door. His muscles tensed in rage from what he heard. 'Plaything? This bastard is more deserving of that punishment than I thought.'

A slow chuckle rang out from his mouth before walking away from the classroom. A sinister smile was etched across his face. Everette's eyes glinted sadistically.

'I'm gonna enjoy making you scream for saying that.'

Coll's head immediately snapped back towards the classroom door. His eyes narrowed. He looked towards the others.

"Did you guys just hear something?" Jane shook her head, as well as Lucas, who was helping Zack up.

Coll's eyes glinted in suspicion before raising his greatsword and intently staring at it. "Did you hear anything?"

The weapon remains still in his hands. The others saw this and shook their head. Since Coll acquired it, he has been doing things similar to it for the past couple of days.

The three assumed that the stress had gotten to his head and made him crazy.
