It had been a few days since the incident. I was looking out from the balcony of my house. I wasn't doing so because I wanted to feel the fresh air or see the beautiful scenery. Rather, I was still trying to get used to the supernatural things that happened to me.
I can see things that ordinary people cannot see, whether it's a curious spirit, a ghost or something evil. Or whatever it is?
From the very beginning, I could see that supernatural beings were completely like human shadows. Not only that, I think I could feel their feelings even further than just feeling but also bonding with their emotions. It's honestly very scary because I, who am not used to it, might get carried away by the feelings of the ghosts so that they can take control of my body, like what happened a few days ago.
Although the abilities I gained suddenly could be stabilized thanks to Ruby. Not surprisingly, the power returned to its original state within a few days. No, I can even say I can see ghosts or spirits more clearly than before.
Even now, I could see a dark aura shaped like black mist as far as my eyes could see. From the balcony, although I couldn't see what the spirits and ghosts looked like, I could see the black mist drifting into the sky like smoke.
Although I never tried to interact with the black mist. I was quite self-aware that spirits or ghosts with such dark auras were not friendly and talkative creatures. In fact, I'm one hundred percent sure that creatures like them are what we usually call vengeful spirits.
These ghosts usually have grudges, anger, and something unresolved in this world, so they are bound in this world. Something very common in horror stories. Considering I'm a person who reincarnated from another world. This kind of horror is not strange in a world like this.
Although my mind thinks this is normal, even when I read or watch horror-themed stories, I sometimes think I would do better than the character. However, my mind thinks that this is perfectly normal even when sometimes, when reading or watching horror-themed stories, I sometimes think that I would do better than the character.
In the end, when experiencing it alone. The supernatural drains my mental health and perhaps my common sense if I continue to experience things that I can say are unconventional to me.
Even on the balcony, I can see a black mist with a very strong dark aura nearby. No, you could say that a ghost with a strong aura is in my yard. A ghost I often see in some manga takes the form of wearing a samurai robe with various arrows and katanas all over it. I've seen its appearance and found that its face is not entirely a skull but not human.
You could say it was like a zombie, and even worse, I could see its red eyes with a strong glow that made my hair stand up. So I never dared to look into the eyes of that samurai-like ghost.
Even though I knew that there was a good chance that the ghosts would disappear if I helped them like in a horror story with a happy ending, such a thing is possible but when it comes to encountering a terrifying dark aura in real life. The only thing I can grasp in my mind is that if I tried to communicate with them that I would be dead, especially in the hands of a samurai-like ghost who has a terrifying aura.
That might be fine, but the possibility that an evil spirit could take over my body like what happened a few days ago and could hurt Ai and Ruby made me not recklessly do anything related to them. Especially if I'm still very weak and if I make a big mistake, it could not only hurt Ai and Ruby but cause their death.
The most sensible thing is to get used to them first, especially the presence of those who sometimes whisper as if trying to get into my mind. However, I've never seen creatures that don't resemble humans. In the past two days, I can say that I've gotten used to their existence and am not completely affected by them. I can remember when I returned home, I lost focus a few times, which made me seem to be taken over by them before Ruby, as usual, came to my rescue by kissing me.
Even so, in the past two or three days, I managed to keep myself from losing myself like before and managed to get well used to their presence. Well, even though I said that to be honest, I still wasn't used to them, but at least I could keep myself from losing myself around them.
The thing that made Ruby look unhappy was because, during that time, Ruby tried to kiss me when she saw me staring like I was losing myself, and I stopped her. She didn't stop pouting when I stopped her. It was something that I should have done before. I accepted her kiss before because I didn't have much choice. Because when Ruby kisses me, I'm usually not in full control of my body.
However, now I managed to keep my mind off those creatures. So I had the awareness to stop Ruby from kissing me, something I should have done far earlier as her brother. Because honestly, if we don't stop, it will be very dangerous. Even for me, because I didn't understand how kissing Ruby would stabilize my ability to see ghosts. So that makes kissing Ruby very addictive for me, especially when I do not want to hear or see the spirits.
"Hah— Little by little, I might be able to get used to this and maybe sooner than I thought." I finally let out a long breath while saying those words. At the same time, the world, in my eyes, was forever changed.
Yeah, I should get used to this soon. Especially when I really start to get sensitive to my surroundings. So that I start to notice when someone or something approaches me, even if it's walking behind me. Like what happened this time—
I sensed someone walking and perhaps half-sneaking as if she didn't want me to know her presence. I gulped hard because I could tell someone was sneaking up behind me and I'm not good at knowing whether it's a ghost or an ordinary person.
I don't want to make mistakes—
"Hora~~ Guess who it is?" I could feel the warmth of the hand that suddenly closed my eyes. It was something those ghosts couldn't possibly have, and that warmth gave me a great sense of relief and comfort.
It's something I'm very grateful for, and I never imagined it would be this comfortable before.
"Guess who it is?" The voice asked again in a similar tone full of mischief. But I didn't think she took this seriously since her tone and voice didn't change too much from her daily voice.
"Well, it's Mom," I replied while grabbing her hand to let go of my face and to see Ai, who was behind me and gave me a teasing smile on her face.
"Turururu— That's correct." She said it while staring at me. Even though I'm already twelve years old, Ai hasn't changed much since she gave birth to us. She was just like adult characters in anime who often still look very young. Maybe it's because Ai's body is quite small, even for a Japanese woman.
One of the wonders of the anime-like world.
