Charybdis donned a human disguise and ventured into a well-established human kingdom, whose name she couldn't be bothered to remember, intent on uncovering the secrets of summoning heroes or otherworlders.
Her curiosity had been piqued by the kingdom's rumors and records of the research on summoning rituals, and she needed this knowledge to advance her plans for Lanka.
For weeks, she immersed herself in the kingdom's libraries, scouring the experimental texts and conversing with the kingdom's scholars.
Her research revealed the intricate magic circles and incantations required, as well as the sacred materials used in the process.
She meticulously took notes, ensuring she understood every detail.
Armed with this newfound knowledge, Charybdis returned to Lanka.
In a secluded part of the island, she began the delicate task of setting up a summoning portal connected to a Mgical furnace, something inspired from the fate series.
The furnce used was very simple to make with the ever abundant and Versatile Rc cells she has at her disposal.
Using her enhanced magical talents, she converted the spell into one of holy nature, channeling her devotion to the Voice of the World to increase its efficiency.
After days of preparation, she stood before the completed portal as the moon hung on the sky.
Her heart pounded with anticipation as she began the modified chant, her voice resonating with power and reverence:
"Voice of the World, impartial and true,
Keeper of balance, I call unto you.
From the realms beyond, heed my plea,
Summon forth an ally, bring them to me.
In the name of harmony, in the light of justice,
Let your guidance be my compass.
By your will, let the gates be unfurled,
Bring forth a champion, to protect this world."
As the final words left her lips, the portal glowed with an intense, blinding light. The air around her crackled with energy, and the very ground beneath her seemed to hum in response. When the light finally began to fade, Charybdis looked upon the figure standing before her.
A man clad in Indian armor, stained with blood, emerged from the portal.
His eyes bore the stare of someone who had seen the horrors of countless battles.
His presence was formidable, yet there was a haunting emptiness in his gaze.
Charybdis immediately noticed the intricate details of his armor and the regal bearing that suggested he was no ordinary warrior.
For a moment, the room was silent. Charybdis observed the man, understanding that he had been summoned straight from a battlefield, likely in the midst of a fierce fight.
His confusion was palpable, and he did not speak, merely trying to orient himself to his new surroundings.
"Welcome," Charybdis said softly in the magic tongue she had developed , taking a cautious step forward.
"I am Charybdis. You have been summoned here for a purpose. Can you tell me your name?"
The man blinked, his gaze slowly focusing on her.
He seemed to be processing her words, the transition from the chaos of battle to this serene room taking its toll.
He then spoke in Prakrit, a language Charybdis understood easily from her extensive studies.
"Ashoka," he said, his name carrying the weight of his experiences. "My name is Ashoka."
Charybdis's eyes sparkled with recognition.
Her mind raced over the possibility that she had summoned the Mauryan Emperor Ashoka. The legendary ruler, known for his transformation from a ruthless conqueror to a benevolent and just leader, could be an invaluable ally in her quest.
"Emperor Ashoka," she whispered, her voice filled with awe and respect. "The King of the Mauryan Empire."
Ashoka remained silent, still grappling with the sudden shift from the battlefield to this unfamiliar place.
His blood-stained armor and the haunted look in his eyes spoke volumes of the battles he was involved in.
Charybdis took another step closer, her voice gentle , as she realised that the vulnerable psyche of the formidable Emperor at the moment, she must have summoned him either amidst or at the end of the Kalinga war.
"You have endured much, Ashoka. But here, you can find a new purpose. Together, we can create a world of our shared desire. Will you join us?", Politician as always worked like a charm.
Ashoka's eyes met hers, and for the first time, there was a flicker of something else—a glimmer of hope, perhaps, or a sense of curiosity about this new world and the role he might play in it.
He didn't speak, but his gaze narrowed on her taking in her veiled appearance hidden in the night , and he gave a slight nod.
Charybdis smiled, a sense of relief washing over her.
"Thank you, Ashoka. Welcome to Lanka. We have much to do, and your presence here will be invaluable.", she said walking in the reigon illuminated by the humming Magicule Furnace.
As Charybdis called her kingdom Lanka, Ashoka's eyes widened in shock.
The name struck a deep chord within him, echoing the tales of the Ramayana he knew so well.
"Lanka?" he repeated, his voice tinged with disbelief and anger.
He took in the now visible inhuman features on her face, the slight glint in her eyes, and his hand instinctively moved to the hilt of his sword.
"You are a Danav," he declared, his voice firm and filled with conviction. "Even if I die here, I will not succumb to your wishes."
Seeing his reaction, Charybdis sighed with disappointment.
She had hoped that this encounter would be easily mangable, that she could convince him of their noble cause.
But the situation was rapidly deteriorating, and she was already considering the possibility of having to kill him.
"Ashoka," she said calmly, trying to diffuse the tension. "I understand your fears and your anger. But I am not your enemy. I have no desire to harm you."
He did not lower his sword, his eyes filled with determination. "You speak of Lanka, the land of Ravana, the demon king. And you, with your inhuman features, expect me to believe you are not a threat? I will not fall for your deception Danav "
Charybdis raised her hands in a placating gesture. "Lanka is not meant to be a land of demons, but a sanctuary. A place where we can build something new, something better. The Lanka I envision is different from the one ruled by Ravana. It will be a place of unity, where beings of all kinds can live in harmony.", Politician tried to salvage the situation by pumping out half lies.
His grip on the sword tightened as his newly modified body started humming with magicules.
"I have fought many battles, faced many enemies. But I will not join forces with a Danav. Even if you kill me, I will not betray my principles."
Charybdis sighed again, the weight of his words pressing heavily on her. "I see," she said softly. "It seems I misjudged your willingness to understand. I do not wish to fight you, Ashoka. But if you leave me no choice, I will defend myself and my kingdom."
For a moment, they stood in tense silence, the air between them thick with the possibility of violence.
Charybdis hoped that he might reconsider, that he might see the sincerity in her actions.
But Ashoka's resolve remained unshaken, his stance unyielding.
With a final, resigned sigh, Charybdis prepared herself for the inevitable conflict.
"Very well," she said, her voice tinged with sadness.
"If this is how it must be, then so be it. But know this, Ashoka: I do not seek to destroy. I seek to create. And perhaps, one day, you will understand that.",
What she proclaimed was truth she didn't harbour the thought of destruction any longer, she saw it something beneath her level.
After finishing her last word her head split revealing the eye of Angra Mainyu, her phantasm already manifested bending her features further.
"I'll try to make it Painless 'Emperor' "
