The Scarred Arc
We return where we had left off, the two boys following the man named Todd in this 'new world'…
Josh: So, what's up with everyone carrying around Katanas and Broadswords? I mean I understand the whole Demon Hunters thing I guess, but- why's everyone gotta be prepared in here? It should be safe right?
Todd: It's a sign of respect to carry your weapon on your back or at your hilt. The founder of this world, the co creator if you may- he made a deal with a warlock to contain evil amongst the living world. This place holds thousands of years of tragic war stories and revelations from times long before any of us. We carry our weapons to honor that man- Yuki Sho Maki, the man of a thousands swords. There's your base lore on our world and our gratitude to Yuki.
Bill: Aren't wizards and warlocks & stuff like that evil?
Todd: What is the true definition of evil? There isn't one, you can have evil intentions and have room for growth & to better yourself. The warlock is an unnamed individual, supposedly alive to this day. But his intentions were pure to Yuki. So we believe the man was a faithful just man, in the wrong boat.
Josh: I don't get it, but I'll take it.
Todd: You weren't the one asking the question. You know, respect goes a long way, not just down here- anywhere matter a fact.
Bill: He'll only bitch & complain if you lecture him, I wouldn't.
Josh: Shut it, smart-ass.
Todd: Would you two settle down, we don't fight in this world. Only on the outside, only to protect our loved ones and to save humanity. I know you two are young, but fighting each other won't get you anywhere. I had a brother, me and him were very similar to the two of you. He died in my arms, and if I could go back and make things right- I would.
Bill: I'm…I'm sorry about your brother.
Todd: Don't worry kid, it was a long time ago.
Josh: What's this place?
Todd: Window city, the centerpiece of our world. The cornerstone of everything good, taking back against the evil of the world.
Josh: Has anyone ever betrayed you guys?
Todd: That's not a story I'd like to get into…
Bill: Hey, it's a bunch of windows-
Josh: No shit, hence the name billy.
Todd: Actually, you're partially wrong. It signifies something more important. Reflections of our past and memories stowed away, we reflect in positive ways to continue our journey ahead. We fight for all we hold dear, nothing less.
Bill: Yeah Josh, maybe if you were sympathetic or at all a genuine person you'd understand that.
Josh: Well maybe I was, maybe I wanna meet dad- Maybe he doesn't deserve it, but…
Todd: That's enough guys, the beauty of this world shouldn't be the time to fight. It should be the time to solve your differences. Being a kid is tough, but you'll grow over time. Learn from your mistakes, and become fine young men.
Josh: Maybe your right, maybe I shouldn't bottle up all this anger. It's weird, I've just met you and for some reason your words impact me more than I wanna admit.
Bill: I didn't know Josh had this side to him honestly, he's always so stuck up.
Josh: Fuck you, but yeah- I do I guess. Just not confident in allowing myself to be vulnerable.
Todd: Let's walk, I'll show you somewhere in the city that you'll like a lot. And also, I have a few thoughts on how you might be able to see me, and demons for that matter. But I hope to God that the one I'm thinking isn't right.
The boys continued down this path, slowly but surely growing their bond- but soon… A drastic change to their life's would be made…
