Chapter 6

''YOU BASTA-'' Thomas screamed, alas it was too late. Not only the distance between them was small, making it easy for Chrollo, thanks to his super speed, but also the sudden absence of light made Thomas vulnerable for a moment.

That moment was enough.

*HUFFED COUGH* 

Two seconds after Chrollo turned off the light, someone activated it again. However, the now visible scene shocked all the people present, especially Chrollo's relatives.

Chrollo's right hand tore through Thomas's body, specifically the place where his was supposed to be. Then he retracted his hand and in it was Thomas's unmoving heart.

Thomas looked at Chrollo's palm and unconsciously placed his hand on his newest hole, where his missing heart used to be.

One of the best hunters in the whole world, who has overcome countless challenges and emerged victorious, died just like that. 

Deafening silence descended upon the large hall. Nobody could believe that Thomas Caddel died by the hands of a 16-year-old boy, whom they never heard of before.

Chrollo moved hi gaze to his right sleeve, which had Thomas's blood all over it. ''Looks like i won't be able to use this coat for a while. What a pity, it was one of my favorites.'' 

His serene voice brought out of stupor most people. ''Chrollo...'' Adam, Suzuki and Adriana had complicated feelings right now. On one hand they were glad that Chrollo was safe, on the other they were extremely worried how he could end a human life like it's nothing. 

Seeing Thomas's corpse, they were feeling very sad. After all, he was a comrade they have known for many years, despite his personality.

''Hahahahahah! Well done, boy! Most people would be scared sh*tless after being bitten by an Alpha, not to mention using their abilities. Not only you are completely okay, you also used your new powers without hesitation and with excellent proficiency! Not to forget, using your brain and not becoming too arrogant after obtaining such abilities!''

''You are a splendid hunter!'' A young woman in her twenties praised loudly. She had brown skin color, long dark hair, reaching the middle of her back and ember eyes.

Chrollo's parents and aunt got close to him and simply hugged him.

''Thank you for your opinion, Julia'' The male elder, named Noah, which Chrollo interrupted, spoke again.

''Chrollo, by killing Thomas, you have broken multiple rules. This matter is bound to spread. If we let you go unpunished, surely, some people are going to be angry, demanding that we should kill you as well. 'A young boy killed a renowned hunter, yet he is unpunished. Doesn't this mean that we can do so as well'. They will think like that, however-''

Chrollo once again interrupted the old man ''Then I will kill them them too. If there aren't people making problems, then there won't be problems.''

''... Just listen to me until the end.'' The elder sighed ''However, due to your special status as a Blessed, we will make an exception.''

Elder Noah continued ''In our family, Blessed describes people like you, who have gained special powers after being bitten. Now we must officially introduce you to the Caddel family. First, we have to tell you the ranking in the Caddel family. By obtaining higher rank, you can enjoy various features.'' The elder said.

''With rank 4 being the lowest and rank 1 being the highest. Rank 4 is for apprentices, Rank 3 for general hunters, including the ones, who just passed the Graduation test. Rank 2 is for veteran hunters, who have contributed greatly to the family. Everyone here is at least rank 2. And rank 1 is for elders.'' 

Dylan spoke up ''You, a Blessed, are automatically rank 2. Your existence itself is a miracle. A human with supernatural powers, that is you, Chrollo.''

Chrollo was curious ''What proves that i am a human?'' Dylan cleared his doubts ''This whole building is protected by mountain ash. Mountain ash is a form of ash created by burning the wood from a Mountain Ash tree, which possesses the ability to protect against the supernatural by preventing them from coming into contact with it. You being able to enter proves it. If you want to examine it closely, ask your parents or aunt.''

Noah proceeded to explain to Chrollo ''By completing the Graduation test, you have become an official Caddel hunter. That grants you the right to take jobs, using the Caddel website, which only family members have access to. It includes missions corresponding to your rank. Most importantly is your entry to the library. It is split in four sections. Section 4 for rank 4, section 3 for rank 3 and so on.''

Elder Noah finished ''You have permission to go up to section 2. You can take out maximum 5 books, regardless of the section. And they have to be returned within a year. If not, your right to the library will be removed permanently.''

The patriarch of the Caddel family said to Chrollo ''Follow me. I will tell you about what you can do as a Blessed in detail. Only me and the elders know this.''

Chrollo went with his grandfather somewhere, leaving 17 people, 4 elders and 13 members, inside the room.

A man with short dark hair and blue eyes shook his head ''What a scary young man, not even some Alpha werewolves have this kind of pressure. When he gets stronger, even regular people will subconsciously stay away of him''

Julia, who praised Chrollo earlier, agreed and said to Adam and Suzuki ''Couldn't you have made him a few years earlier? I mean, his face and his personality are totally my type. Even his name is awesome.''

Adriana laughed at her ''Even If he was, he wouldn't date someone like you.''

''What did you say, you b**ch?!''

While the two women were bickering at each other, Chrollo and Dylan sat in a large room, filled with books. ''This is my room, where I spent my free time. You can come here too, if you want''

''Thank you, I certainly will." Chrollo responded.

Dylan became serious ''Now, to start, tell me what your abilities are.''

Chrollo told him ''I have enhanced speed, strength, reflexes and durability. My hearing reaches up to 500 meters and I can smell up to 1 kilometer. I also have perfect night vision. I can see, as if it were daytime.''

''What about regeneration?'' Chrollo responded ''I don't know.''

''Wait a moment'' Dylan stood up and went to his desk. After searching, he found a small knife. ''Try it.''

Chrollo took the knife and slashed, making a small cut. Immediately after that, the wound began to heal and a few seconds later it closed. 

''Super regeneration too.'' Remarked Dylan. ''You have the same powers as the other Blessed. We have only 3 examples, so it's better to make sure. Now that I have confirmed, it's time to tell you how you can get stronger.'' 

The patriarch sat in a comfortable position and began to tell Chrollo the true advantages of his body.
