Part 10 : Looking for the truth

That's it. I decided to look for answers. The internet is full of crap and I can't borrow books about supernatural to Allison, Lydia or Dereck cause they would automatically get suspicious since I HATE reading. So the only way I found to get "help" is to ask... Theo.

I come see Theo at his locker. He turns back and sees me waiting for him.

-Since when do you talk to me ?

-Since never. And it's not gonna change.

He figured out I was just using him to make Liam jealous but since it didn't work I stopped hanging out with him. He's hurt I think. And I'm so mad at myself for using him that way but he just seemed so heartless and after what the others told me, I really thought he was, but in the end nobody really is, if you want my opinion.

I drag him into the guidance office, empty.

-So Theo...

-I've been waiting a long time for this...

-What ? I'm confused.

Theo starts removing his shirt and ends shirtless.

-Theo, what the hell are you doing ?

-Isn't that the reason why you wanted to meet here ?

-Noooo ! How could you even believe that ?

-They always say love and hate are not such opposite feelings.

-I didn't know you read love stories.

-I don't.

He whispers.

-I like the movies better.

-Ooooh ! You're disgusting !

-So, why did you wanna meet in the guidance office if it's not for sex ?

-Because we can talk without being heard by our little werewolves friends ! And Theo...

-Yes ?

-Please put the shirt back on.

That's true, the guidance office is the most isolated room of the school. That's why it's a great place to have a privet conversation if you don't want you friends with supersenses to hear it.

-You wanna share a secret. Why didn't you come to Liam, then. I thought you two were closer than that.

-We are. That's why I wanted to talk to you.

-I get it. You're afraid he judges you because you like him. And since you don't care about me, you don't care about what I think either. His opinion matters and mine doesn't. Oh, and don't think I am a little hurt by what you think since everyone knows I don't have any heart or feelings. So what did you want with me ?

-It's killing me to admit it, but, I think I need your help.

-Finally, Izzy Lahey is not that confident and ressourcefull after all.

-Oh shut up. Will you help me or not ?

-Depends on what it is.

-I heard from Liam you knew the Dread Doctors well, and that they had lots of informations about supernatural creatures like the Beast and the Wild Hunt.

-So, what's the question you really wanna ask ?

-Did they know anything, or experiment anything about, vampires ?

-Vampires, are you kidding me ?

-That was a bad idea. I knew that was a bad idea. The second I came to your locker, I knew it !

I start leaving the room.

-Wait, Izzy ! I don't know everything about them ! But I still can help.

I stop walking and turn back, curious.

-The underground. That's where they lived. If there's something I don't know about them, this place will. So what do you think ? You and me, tonight, underground, I'll pick you up ?

-The way you say it, it sounds a lot like a date.

-You're in or not ?

-I'm in.

I leave the office.

-See ya tonight !!! he yells.

I smile. I haven't seen him but Liam was standing right in front of me, waiting.

-What were you doing in the guidance office with...

Theo comes out of the room. Shiiiit.

-Liam ! he says.

I look at him like, you better run cause I'm gonna kill you.

-So ? What were you doing with him in there ? The room where werewolves can't hear anything ?

-What ?

-I haven't told you that the guidance office was the only room where you won't be heard even by werewolves ?

Yes you did, it's just great that you don't remember you did.

-No, I didn't know that !

-Oh, okay. So what are you doing tonight ? What about you and me, at the movies, I'll pick you up ?

Oh my god ! What the hell am I doing ? This is exactly the same conversation I had with Theo two minutes ago.

The only difference is that, Theo didn't disagree with me. Liam did.

-Well, I'm sorry but Cora gotta help me out with biology !

What a dumb excuse.

-I thought she was as bad as you ?

-Well, maybe this time two wrong will make a right !

-I can call Hayden, I'm sure she'll be happy to help you out, both of you !

What is wrong with you, Liam ? Can't you just accept I can't date you because I'm dating Theo on the same night ? Oh my god ! I chose Theo over Liam ! But why ? I'm like crazy in love with Liam !

-I don't think she would !

-Why's that ?

-Because I hate her ! So, sorry Liam, but I can't go out with anybody right now. I gotta... Focus on my grades, keep my friends and my brother close to me...

...And find what the hell is wrong with me, even if I have to ask Theo for help.
