Curious World pt.2 (Resume)

[The next chapter will be a resume of teen wolf]

It was around this time that Scott's new supernatural life began. One night, while he was with his lifelong friend Stiles, they were exploring the woods playing detectives, searching for a body,or at least half of one: that of Laura Hale.

But they weren't the only ones in the woods. Besides the sheriff and the police officers who were also searching for the body, there was a beast, completely covered in fur, standing 2.5 meters tall, able to stand on two legs but running on all fours, with immense claws and blood-red eyes. The Alpha was also in the woods. He saw Scott and decided to bite him, turning him into a werewolf.

And after much confusion, a pleasant bewilderment at his new superhuman abilities, the discovery of the supernatural thanks to Stiles' investigations, a complicated romance with Allison Argent when he discovered what her family did, he continued to love her despite the imminent danger of his death if his identity were discovered.

As well as a mentor-apprentice relationship, filled with mistrust and trust, friend/enemy dynamics between Scott McCall and Derek Hale as they both fought and searched for the Alpha.

Scott eventually managed to discover the identity of the Alpha: Peter Hale.

After the fire, Peter became nothing more than a carcass consumed by flames, a disfigured being whose flesh was burned down to the bone. His body was a nightmarish landscape of charred, cracked, and blistered flesh. Every inch of his skin, if it could still be called that, was a mosaic of horrific scars, where flesh mingled with dead tissue in endless horror. The remnants of his face were a grotesque mask of perpetual pain.

Being a werewolf, he had incredible healing abilities that kept him awake throughout his coma, a period during which he could feel his body but could not control it, replaying the fateful night that put him in that state over and over again.

For ten long years, he remained trapped in that mutilated body, chained to a hospital bed in a coma. But his mind, cruelly awake, found no rest. Locked in the darkness of his own consciousness, he screamed silently, trapped in an endless cycle of suffering.

Pain was his only companion, a burning agony that never lessened, gnawing at him like acid, devouring his mind as surely as fire had devoured his body. Day after day, month after month, year after year, madness crept into him, wrapping around his mind like a vicious serpent until there was no room left for anything but hatred, rage, and an all-consuming thirst for vengeance.

Gradually abandoning his humanity, becoming a grotesque abomination of man and beast, his power grew with his madness until one day he was strong enough to regain control of his body.

He began his revenge. First, he would need the power of an Alpha. He lured his sister, who he knew had escaped the house during the fire, being the only female survivor of the Hale family. She had inherited the Alpha's power from the Hale matriarch.

He set a trap and lured her to Beacon Hills before killing her and taking her power, despite the blood ties that united them, despite the fact that Peter, being her uncle, had watched her grow up and loved her as his own sister.

What was left of Peter Hale was nothing but infinite hatred and vengeful madness. He didn't know who had started the fire, so he began by hunting down and tracking anyone connected to fires in any way.

He killed about twenty people in less than a month. The police and media attributed these murders to a wild beast, unaware of the truth.

The Argent family noticed the incidents and decided to investigate.

Allison was unaware of what her family actually did, thinking they sold weapons to the state and police forces, but she saw the oddities: her family being called in the middle of the night, men coming to the house heavily armed and leaving with her father, Chris Argent, while her mother ignored her questions or told her not to worry too much, that she was overthinking.

Victoria Argent didn't want her daughter to learn what they did so early, not at such a young age.

She made it a point not to let family matters affect her daughter's youth.

Allison, however, continued to be suspicious and began to investigate, piecing together scattered bits of truth and clues here and there. She gradually understood what was really happening, though she hesitated to believe it.

It was ultimately her aunt who told her the truth, confirming what she already knew. Her aunt, Kate, whom she considered like a sister, a woman as beautiful as she was deadly, discovered Scott's identity. She devised a plan to distort Scott's secret, making him out to be a spy there to watch her and kill her if necessary. She succeeded in making Allison believe in his betrayal, gradually shaping her niece into her own image,a hunter who should show no mercy toward wolves.

Allison, despite her anger towards Scott, didn't want to kill him, to her aunt's great fury, who decided to do it herself, right in front of Allison.

She approached the young boy who had never harmed any innocents, whose only crimes were walking in the woods on the wrong night and falling in love with the wrong person.

The patriarch of the Argents appeared, took his weapon, and stopped Kate. He had learned what she had done, all that she had done. She had broken the code; even hunters follow rules.

The hunters, at least those in the Argent family, only track those with innocent blood on their hands. Kate had committed an unforgivable crime, which was probably not the only one.

It was indeed Kate behind that house fire. She had seduced and gained the trust of the young Derek at the time and had gathered information from him, preparing her plan.

She blocked all the exits of the house and set it on fire on a day she knew they would all be there, sparing only Derek, wanting to see her toy live in loneliness and despair.

And then it appeared: a humanoid beast completely covered in fur, standing over two and a half meters tall, with scarlet red eyes and a joyful smile that promised a horrible death.

The four people turned toward the Alpha, ready to fight.

The Alpha appeared, and after ten years of pain, with burns etched into his very soul that he would never be able to remove, he was truly happy because he was face to face with the person responsible for the Hale family fire.

With ease, Peter took down each of the members present one by one and grabbed Kate by the throat.

Peter had waited for this moment for so long, but it wasn't complete. One thing was missing: he ordered her to apologize for all the harm she had done.

This beautiful, proud woman, who despised werewolves, didn't say a word. Peter tightened his grip on her throat. She weakly asked for forgiveness.

But her words were ashes in Peter's ears. He tore out her throat with a single swipe of his claws.

He turned toward Allison, but Scott intervened. Derek joined them. Scott yelled at Allison to run, and together, they fought the Alpha, but he was too strong, too fast, too fierce. Peter had abandoned most of his humanity for more power; he couldn't be defeated by the two of them alone.

But Derek, as bitter and solitary as he was, Scott was not alone. He is never alone, always accompanied by his lifelong friend Stiles.

Never far from Scott, and this was the case now. Stiles arrived at the scene of the confrontation, accompanied by the not-so-useful Jackson Whitmore, Lydia's boyfriend at the time.

Stiles knew he wouldn't be much help against the Alpha, so he came well-prepared. The two boys held bottles of flammable liquid that ignited upon contact with air. They took Peter by surprise, who wasn't expecting it, and burned him alive.

And history repeated itself, the man was thus defeated by the very thing that had already defeated him once before...

He ended up lying on the ground, charred in the same way he had been ten years ago.

Everyone sighed in relief. The beast that had terrorized Beacon Hills, one of the worst werewolves to ever exist, the Alpha, was defeated.

Allison kissed Scott in the heat of the moment, thus promising to continue their complicated romance worthy of Romeo and Juliet.

Derek approached the charred remains of Peter, who was still alive but smoking, and he ended Peter's life, reclaiming the power that belonged to the Hales. True, Peter was also a Hale, but Derek no longer saw him as family, not after what he had done to Laura for power.

He lifted his head and howled at the moon, a roar that echoed throughout the town, letting all the living beings in Beacon Hills know: a new alpha had emerged.

Derek took the time to bury Peter's body behind the Hale house, the only form of respect he granted him, unaware of how much he underestimated his uncle's cunning, despite his madness, but that's a story for much later...

This was just one of the many adventures that Scott and his friends experienced.

They later had to face the former patriarch of the Hale family, the Grandfather Argent, one of the most vicious, cunning, and ruthless hunters there ever was. He secretly plotted against Scott and his friends while they were preoccupied with a new creature in Beacon Hills, a strange beast that killed people seemingly chosen at random. They eventually discovered that this beast was a Kanima, and it was under someone's control.

They then learned that the Kanima was Jackson, Lydia's ex-boyfriend. He had begged Derek to bite him so he could become a werewolf too. He craved the power, unaware of the conditions and risks like the bloodlust or dangers such as hunters.

Jealous of Scott's abilities, Jackson just wanted to be more than he was, better at lacrosse, the flagship sport of Beacon Hills, and more famous. The boy had always defined himself by how others perceived him, living a superficial life.

A deep malaise gnawed at him from the inside, and the unexpected happened, the bite didn't turn him into a werewolf, but a Kanima.

He was used by another young boy, who wanted to exact revenge for an old grudge.

Scott and his friends investigated, uncovering various truths, including the Argent family's bestiary, where they learned that the world was far larger and crazier than it seemed.

They managed to uncover the master's identity and thwart him, finally stopping him. But the former patriarch of the Argents, Gerard, had manipulated everyone,Scott, his friends, the Argent family, and even the Kanima and its master, like chess pieces in his game.

He let Scott and his friends do the work for him, making them believe they were on the same side, allies, and that the Kanima and its master were their mutual enemies. And when they finally managed to stop them, Gerard discreetly intervened, killing the master and becoming the new master of the Kanima himself.

But Gerard Argent was no ignorant teenager wasting this power on a petty grudge. Gerard obviously knew the Kanimas and the secret curse that follows them.

Despite the risk, Gerard Argent was going to play this dangerous game and do what he always did, come out victorious. Gerard was a hunter who had reached the advanced age of 67, one of the best hunters of his time, an expert in manipulation and cunning, always knowing how to play his enemies. He was going to use the Kanima to its full potential before discarding it like the mere tool it was.

He began his real plan, starting with his son, the current patriarch of the Argent family, who was living through the most difficult moment of his life. A tragedy had struck the Argent family,a tragedy for all the members of the family, all except Gerard, who saw an unprecedented opportunity and exploited it.

Victoria Argent was a tough woman, a hunter herself who would do anything to protect her family. There was one thing she could not accept: her daughter's romance with Scott McCall, a werewolf.

Her husband, Chris, was also deeply opposed. He had caught the two together and was ready to tear Scott apart with his own hands, but settled for threatening him and promising not to spare him the next time.

But love, especially adolescent and stubborn, is passionate. They continued to see each other in secret, discreetly and hidden from everyone, living their romance.

Chris was busy hunting the Kanima and had no time to check on his daughter, but this wasn't the case for her mother, who, being observant, suspected something. She began investigating, spying on her daughter, and slowly uncovered their secret love, which filled her with a cold anger.

She set a trap in a secluded spot and lured Scott there. Despite her immense anger, Victoria had great control over her emotions and followed the hunter's code to the letter. She wasn't going to kill Scott, especially since if Allison ever found out, she would never forgive her, and she could lose her daughter forever.

But she could give Scott an unforgettable experience, make him suffer to the point of agony, torture him, after all, he would heal. She knew exactly which nerves were sensitive, which wounds were the most excruciating. She wanted the fear she would instill in him that night to haunt him forever, a constant reminder of what she would do if he ever approached her daughter again.

But Scott, stubborn, innocent, and madly in love, wouldn't back down. No matter what she did to him that night, he would continue to love Allison with all his heart.

Derek appeared and came to Scott's aid. Just as Victoria didn't want to kill Scott, Derek certainly didn't want to kill Victoria or seriously injure her, which would earn him the hatred of the entire Argent family.

He simply knocked her out from behind and helped free Scott from the chains that bound him, but he didn't count on the mother's iron will. She got back up and attacked Derek from behind while he was freeing Scott. In the chaos, Derek bit Victoria before fleeing with Scott.

Scott didn't think much of the incident and decided to avoid the mother and be more careful and discreet when seeing Allison.

The young boy had forgotten one detail, a simple detail: Derek was an alpha...

Victoria returned home, saw her daughter in a corner, her child, her love whom she had raised and watched grow, each day an unforgettable memory. She went to see her husband and showed him the bite. Her face showed a rare emotion that Chris hadn't experienced in a long time, and he asked the ultimate question:

"Alpha?"

And his wife nodded. Chris's eyes trembled and filled with tears, blood flowing from his hands as he clenched his fists so tightly, he gritted his teeth, holding back the scream that wanted to escape.

The hunters had another rule, a merciless rule: if a hunter received the bite that could turn them, they had to end their life before the next full moon.

Such was the code. And as misfortunes never come alone, the next full moon wasn't twenty days away, or fifteen or ten,the next full moon was in one day.

She had 24 hours before she had to end her life; that was the only time she had.

The next morning, she tried to talk to her daughter. The teenager was cold towards her parents, resenting them for getting in the way of her and Scott, with whom she could no longer have normal dates, forced to meet in secret, in hidden spots.

The young girl was angry at her parents, and when she saw her mother struggling to find the right words, searching for what to say, but only managing to look at her and give her a smile that was just a façade, she didn't try to dig any deeper.

Victoria couldn't bring herself to do it,how could she tell her daughter that she would have to take her own life that night? She knew that if she talked, her daughter would do everything to dissuade her, and Victoria knew she wouldn't be able to say no to her daughter in tears.

She had followed the code her whole life, and she would continue to do so, so she said nothing. She prepared a letter for her daughter, and when evening came, as the moon rose in the sky, Victoria stood beside her husband. He was behind her, holding the knife with her that would end her life. Chris's hands trembled,he didn't have the strength to do it, but for Victoria, just having Chris by her side was enough. And so, this tough woman, who had always followed her principles, with a silver knife at the hand, pierced her heart by herself.
